Please do urself a favor and dont go to this doc...She is tooooo rude. She is rude not only towards the kids but also towards the parents. I chose this doc for my newborn baby and I regret it daily. My baby is a happy kid and this lady will make him cry so badly that it becomes so difficult to console him. She does not even address my questions properly and on top of that she will say "U ask a lot of questions!!". I am a FTM and I have a newborn baby, to whom else should I go and ask the questions?? The wait time is also high sometimes. She will also not spend enough time during the appt and is always in a hurry to leave the room. She also does not bothers to check with parents about the development milestones of the baby at any appt. My baby had flat head on one side and for first 3 months I checked with her in every appt abt it and she was not concerned. She kept saying baby is fine. Nor she suggested anything to fix/prevent it. One month later she is asking my 4 month baby to undergo a sedated CT scan bcz he has a flat head. What was she doing all this while when I raised concern abt the flat head in those 3 months. How can he be fine at 3 months appt and need a CT scan at 4th month appt when he had flat head from 2nd month itself. She also charged me extra money and I have to call so many times to get the refund(Still waiting for the refund). While taking the payments their office staff are very proactive. But not while returning the money. In short, please consult some other doc bcz u cant play with the health of ur baby by consulting her.

We took our daughter there her whole first year. Our very first appointment was when she was 3 days old. First time parents, having trouble breastfeeding, and the very first thing Dr. Ruiz says is that my baby needed surgery for the frenulum between her gums where her front teeth would grow. No other doctor weve seen has expressed concern about this. She even wrote a referral for us to see a specialist before her 1st birthday. She has outrageous recommendations about nutrition. My baby is small but tall, and she kept recommending an absurd amount of calories...that, and potted meat (so gross). Perhaps its because she serves many young and/or low income patients but she treats parents like idiots, and was especially rude to my stay-at-home Daddy husband. He would have anxiety before and after each visit. My baby is extremely healthy, not even an ear infection in 18 mo, but after each visit, we would leave feeling defeated. We would come home and look up the actual updated AAP recommendations for milestones. The lobby toys are filthy, and the rooms are tiny and dated. The nurses are all very nice, but the Dr. is stuck in the past and probably should have retired a few years ago. We are at a new office now and so relieved to have that anxiety lifted.

I went to her from birth until I was 18. My mother and I loved her when I was a child. Now I unfortunately have nothing good to say. My mother passed when I was 18 . I called Dr. Ruiz after it happend and she didnt even call me back for a week. I have requested my medical records and because I was there so long it was an outrageous price. Now that I have a new primary care they have requested records twice and have received nothing. I have also been trying to contact the office for my records all morning and the phone just rings. I have had nothing but problems cant get my records myself, my drs cant get my records and I cant even get ahold of the office. If I was a paitent still and there was an emergency and couldnt get ahold of the doctor that is a serious problem. Hopefully I will be able to get ahold of someone soon and can get my records before my appointment. Very disappointing.

this doctor did not even wear gloves while she was sticking a needle in my daughter arm tempting to draw blood, then she gave my daughter for shots and still did not have gloves on. Most rude doctor I have ever met. She asked why I was there and I asked if you questions and she said Wow you just bombarded me with questions. The exam room was the size of a shoebox. I definitely would she was trying to push me into having allergy testing done on my 6 month old daughter, even after I had seen a dermatologist who said she was way too young for this she was still trying to manipulate me into doing it. Horrible experience.not return to her just by the way she made me feel like a terrible person, this doctor has some serious problems please go to any doctor besides her I dont even know how she stays in business with how unsanitary the office is

My wife and I moved from New Jersey and we were worried about who we going to select as Dr. for our kids. If you are looking for someone who cares about their little patients, it is Dr Ruiz. She is straight to the point and no nonsense. Her patients care is her # 1 priority. People who say she is unfriendly or unwelcomed should stop and think what is more important. A Dr. who will not B.S you and will do everthing in her power to make sure every possible step has been taken to ensure the health of their child or a Dr that smiles a lot and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside but does not take the time to really know the patient. I have two boys and Dr Ruiz has been the best Dr. for my kids.

For our first appointment the doctor showed up 2 hours late. Thankfully my husband didnt have to go to work that day. We had a 8:30 appointment for our new born and she didnt show up until almost 11. The next appointment we had I was spoken down to because I made the choice to stop breastfeeding. I wasnt able to give my baby girl what she needed and it was stressful, but I was told "breast is best" and that I must reconsider. Even though she had lost a lot of weight. My husband was already upset from the first appointment and this put us both on edge. We didnt feel very supported as new parents/patients. Plus she didnt really try to connect with my daughter which I feel like is a must.

We visited Sonia Ruiz for our new born son, wait time was mostly very long and our son used to cry a lot when doctor was doing normal checkup or immunization. The staff was nice and friendly, but same can not be said about the doctor. After we changed our pediatrician, our son never cries during his doctor checkups. Doctor is not a very good listener. As first time parents we have lot of doubts, concerns and questions regarding health and well being of our son but the doctor did not show patience to address those.

GROSS!!! None of the Doctors washed their hands, wore gloves or used sanitizer. I didnt notice my 1st appointment but my husband did, when I had to return visit with my newborn and noticed he was right. She even had dried blood on her finger when examining my newborn baby! Tiny gross rooms, and extremely long wait. It was like I was in a 3rd world country and it was the only doctor around. Unbelievable.
