We just moved in the area and unfortunately, we have to leave our old pediatric dentist, Dr. Petinatto, that we love for 3 years. My son has been seeing him since he was 2 so we are really sad to part with him. When we moved in the Riverview area, Dr. Carr is the closest pediatric dentist we could find. I already knew that parents are not allowed inside while Dr. Carr is working with the kids teeth so I already gave my child a heads up. He was anxious about that since from our past dentist, parents are always welcomed to be with their kids no matter what age you are. Our appointment was at 10am. Got there and signed in. Few weeks before that, I was asked by one of the staff to print the medical forms online so I could fill it out. That sure did saved some time when I got at the dentist office. Before seeing Dr. Carr, one of the staff showed us around and where Dr. Carr will be working with the kids. After that, she informed me that my son needs an xray and told me it would cost $20. I asked if its possible to have our old pediatric dentist office send that information to them since it was just 6 months ago that we last saw him. She told me that Dr. Carr wants a recent one (mind you, my son is still 5), and that xray would cost us $20. It was so mind boggling to me because for the past 3 years that weve been seeing our old dentist, weve never paid any money for a regular cleaning. So I told her that I will not pay $20 for the xray but instead will call our old dentist for that record. She told me to wait outside again and she will talk to Dr. Carr. She came back and told me Dr. Carr wants a specific xray today and that is $15. I was just amused and felt bad for my son since we are just prolonging this whole supposedly easy regular cleaning. So I gave up and paid $15. Come 11:20 and they are finally done with the cleaning and I was called inside to speak with Dr. Carr. She said my sons teeth looked great. The only "issue" we have is the small cavity between his two front teeth. She then told me she knew our old pediatric dentist, Dr. Petinatto. What really struck me was she first asked what Dr. Petinatto thinks and recommended about my sons teeth, and I told her he said to just keep and eye on it and to continue to keep flossing especially in that area- nothing to be alarmed since they are baby teeth and they will just fall off. She then agreed and said worse thing that could happen is my son will get abscess between those teeth and that would mean infection. Great! That sure made me feel a little worried. So to wrap up this review, I didnt feel right about Dr. Carr. They being very pushy with the xray thing didnt give me a great impression. I cannot imagine how much they bill for other services. Also, I just didnt get that warm feeling from Dr. Carr. She could be a perfect pediatric dentist for other family but not for us. We will definitely try Dr. Bryan Morgan. Its not the closest one but just by reading his reviews, he will be a great fit for our little man.

Nightmare... I took my daughter for her first Dentist appointment here at Carr Pediatrics along with my 8 yr old daughter and 10 yr old son.. Its a nice new clean place. However Dr. Carr Is awful. She told me everything went well. But my son and daughter had a different story to tell me on my ride home. All three of my kids went back together (same room)THE CAR RIDE HOME...(my daughter keeps repeating and crying...) "Dr. Carr was mean ", (is how it all started). My 3 yr year olds face was puffy like shed been crying sooo hard. My two oldest kids said she yelled at her because she started to get scared and asked for me. Dr.Carr yelled at her told her you cant have her and BE QUIET!! Then my son said they took her In another room by herself. My daughter Is now terrified of going anywhere where there are people she doesnt know.Even her pediatrician, who shes seen all her life. She is so scared of other adults. Its been a year now and she still talks about the Dentist yelling at her. and she cried for me... She loves her Pediatrician again. But I always have to reassure her that We are not going to that Dentist. And Ill never let my kids go off with another Dr. again with out me In the room. Degree or not. Beds side manner is everything. And scars like that dont heal.. My two oldest kids said they dont want to go there anymore, because she was mean to our sister. Also Dr.Carr makes you feel bad about decisions or opinions you may have regarding your childs dental care. She trys to make you feel guilty If you tell her your not ready to do whatever she says THAT..DAY...no matter the cost... My kids are my life and I take care of them and dash the expense.. :) I am looking for a new dentist now. That is in my network. But I am seriously considering going back to my old roots with DR.Cook. Even though outta network...He was fantastic to me and my family all the years Ive been going to him,.I loved going to the dentist. And never had a single cavity. And maybe Dr.Carr was great with your kids or had a bad day...However she picked the wrong Family to pick on !!! Shame on you Dr.Carr. Dont bring your problems to work. And forget what you learned In College. Go take a class In etiquette or proper child treatment. She was a baby.. There was no excuse. You should have let her come to me and I WOULD HAVE REASSURED HER !! Or brought her back another time. Shes my 4th child and all my kids loved the dentist until I brought them to your office. It goes to show.. research your Dentist offices , and dont go there just because It looks nice or is close to home.. Thanks for reading my review.

The reviews are in. About 1/2 of them love the office and about 1/2 of them dont I belong to the second half. I find the staff incompetent and unprofessional. On my first time visit. Here is my experience. You can decide on your own if this is acceptable to you. Made appointment over the phone and clearly requested that my child x-rays be transferred. One week prior to the appt. I called to make sure they have the x-rays. ( the reply was we will check) Never heard from them. A couple of days before the appt I called again to confirm the x-rays again the reply was we will check. I got to my appt on time and the first thing I asked was the x-rays. Again this time in person the reply was we will check. Waited for an hour in the waiting room to find out that " we are requesting the x-rays now or we can take a new set not it is covered by the insurance" There you have it plenty of time to call the insurance company to make sure they can bill them again for the same information. But no time to request the file from the regular dentist. So I went to the front desk and asked again why did you not request the x-rays on time? At this time they had no reply just that we did not get it. There you have it blame it on someone else. My second reason for the 1 star review is the office in general. I was shocked to find out that the children are sent in to a large room without their parents. The procedures are preformed right there in the middle of the room with no parents around. So you have your child in the chair and at the same time about 4 or 5 more are in the same room playing and waling around. I just cant imagine that is hygienic. Kids touching all surfaces and being exposed to the treatment of other patients. How can a dentist perform under those circumstances. At any point in time a child can bump into the staff or into one of the instruments.
