The rudest people I have EVER dealt with!!! I am new to the area and was looking for an optometrist. I called to scheduled an appointment for the following morning. I got extremely busy with work and wasnt able to make the appointment. A very rude office attendant called me ten minutes after I was meant to be at the office. Rather than asking to reschedule the appointment she merely demanded a $35 no show fee. I was taken aback by the fact that they would have the gall to ask that from someone who isnt even their patient yet. Classy! I waited a few days to calm down and called to discuss the bill. I was actually willing to overlook it and order contacts through them so that we could move past it, but I was met with a massive wall of poor attitude from, I assume, their stellar office manager. She told me that it was company policy that I pay the bill and I explained that I happily would, but that she had now wasted my time and I would like to submit a similar bill to her being that it was based on the same logic. This logic she, unfortunately, was absent of. She explained that she would not pay that bill and I calmly asked why I should pay for a bill when I was never made aware of the policy. I then explained that I was actually calling to order contacts, however, she proceeded to hang up on me. I have never been privy to such an immense lack of class, service, and general understanding!

I live in the neighborhood and do my best to support local businesses. My experience with eyes, etc started about 3 months ago when I left a series of vmails trying to get an appointment and to see if they would accept my insurance. My calls were never returned so I decided to walk in and see what was what. I was able to get an appointment and my insurance was accepted. I was told there was a $10 copay and to come back for my appointment. I showed up for my appointment and Dr. Stamboly was great. The exam was fine and upon checkout I was charged a $10 copay along with $45 for some other procedure. This felt like a bait and switch. This wasnt mentioned going in and while it wasnt the end of the world, it was a bit of a surprise. After that, I came back on a Saturday to fill my prescription and get my first pair of glasses. While there was one other customer in the store and two and possibly three employees there, I wasnt helped for about 20 minutes. From there I headed to Warby Parker and got phenomenal service. I tried, I really did, but you have to meet your customers (at least) half way.

Im not sure where some of the reviewers are coming up with astronomical prices on lenses and overly expensive frames. Obviously theyve never been to Midtown Eye Care on Ponce--talk about expensive! Im a new customer to Eye Etc and I have to say I think theyre pretty affordable. Not only that, Im a Kenneth Cole customer and after going down a list of Eye Centers that take my insurance, calling them to see who carries Kenneth Cole frames, Eye Etc was the first on the list to tell me yes, they carry them and have a variety of KC Frames. Also, as a new customer I was told that if I cant make my eye exam date to call ahead of time or incur a late charge. Overall, Im a satisfied new customer regardless of what others are saying.

They arent the cheapest place to find glasses, but I like their selection of frames and am always happy with the outcome. Ive been visiting Eye Etc. for glasses for many years now, mostly because I love their personal service. I cant pick frames without Chris help. Shes amazing! In past visits Ive found Dr. Stamboly a little distant, but this time I asked many questions about the exam (whats that for? what do those drops do?) and he was friendly, responsive, patient and thorough in all his answers. He also identified a potential problem that requires further testing, and mentioned he might want to talk to my primary care physician about it. Like I said, thorough!

I love this office. Great team, always super helpful and personal. I am always happy with the eyeglasses selection. I think the woman who helps me with my frames is named Chris, but I was so impressed and happy that she remembered me from the year before and helped me pick out a new pair of frames and was straight-up with me on what looked good and showed me options based on the things that I wanted and liked. She is super sweet! Dr. Stamboly always answers my questions (which I have plenty of) and I like that he is really honest. I trust him with my general eye health and vision. The location is pretty convenient with a private lot for the shopping strip.

When I chose my eye doctor, I shopped around. Dr. Stamboly and Eye Etc. came highly recommended by several and now Ive been seeing him as my eye care doctor for more than 10 years. Dr. Stamboly takes time to get your RX correct. He has high tech machinery and looks for issues, such as glaucoma. Hes such a wonderful and through doctor. I highly recommend him to anyone. When youre done with your exam, the practice also has many fashionable frames. Working with his staff is quick and painless. They get you out of the door so you can be on your way quickly, too. Their attention to reducing paper is also appreciated.

I really enjoyed having my eye exam with Dr. Stamboly. He took the time to explain changes in my eye sight and to discuss options for glasses, including making sure to get a good fit for computer glasses. I had not experienced the new photo technology for eye exams before, and it was interesting to see the large blow ups of my eyes on the computer, especially since he explained what we were looking at specifically. I also liked that all of the records are now in the computer to make it easy to keep track of changes in vision. I am bringing my daughter for her first eye exam in a couple of weeks. Thanks!

I was very impressed with Dr. Stamboly and his entire staff. The office is small and I was unsure if they could meet my expectations for eye care considering I was coming from another "high profile" office with several doctors and thousands of frame choices. Dr. Stamboly was very knowledgeable and shared information with me about my particular vision requirements. The frame selection was great - not a room full of frames showing basically the same frame over and over, but a wide variety of unique styles. I am confident that my new glasses will look great and that the lenses will be done correctly.

Dr. Stamboly has been my eye Dr. for over a decade now, and will probably be my eye Dr for the next decade too. This is the best practice I have ever been too, and Ive been wearing glasses for 35 years. Dr. Stamboly and his staff are knowledgeable, patient, and excellent all around. They always have a good mix of unique frames and brands, luxury brands, and more affordable trendy eye wear. Dr. Stamboly answers my questions, takes his time, and most importantly gives me correct glasses/contact prescriptions.
