I had a horrible experience with Dr. Goldman!! He was rude from the beginning and treated me like dirt for the entire appointment (90 minutes). He was very ABUSIVE to me. During the visit, he had NO patients in the waiting area or the office. He insulted me then cursed the entire time...and at one point, he cursed my family (with profound language - f***). This was my first visit and he doesnt even know my family, and my father is a well-respected physician in Atlanta. The staff was nice, but I was misled by the man. When he asked about my medical history, I gave him detailed information then he told me I was a bs-ing liar because I didnt have the paperwork for it with me. I was insulted and humiliated. I was so distressed that I had to write a review to protect any woman from him, especially young women! He is very crude and has a bad temper, as well as a foul mouth. If you tell him something about your medical history and cannot back it up with paperwork, he discredits it completely! Also, when I asked which treatment was best for me, he told me he didnt give a sh** what I did and it was up to me. I was also cursed at in Yiddish and then told the definition right after wards, it was uncalled for! I am a professional and his behavior was none of the sort. I am a very calm and even-tempered person, but I almost got up and left his office. I would have if I hadnt been wearing a robe. I wouldnt recommend a sewer rat going to him and never a person. Stay away from this nut of a doctor.

Treated for: Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Raynauds Wow, Im somewhat perplexed by these reviews, because I really like Dr. Goldman. I guess its the fact that when I started going to him I had been to several other doctors that never could come up with the right treatment for me and he could. I was having difficulty walking and had severe pain all over my body, but he found the right mix of medications and strengths to bring me back to a regular life style. Hes blunt and I guess I like that. Hes never been rude at least I dont take it that way. Has he told me I need to lose weight, YEP! Cause I do need to lose weight! We have great conversations about everything from family and politics to healthcare reform and exercise. I KNOW! Awful right?! Does he occasionally curse? YEP! AND!? So do I occasionally. Does he take forever getting to me? YEP, Sometimes. And why doesnt that bother me? Because I know that hell spend and hour or more listening to my issues to find the right treatment for me. He doesnt rush you out, you get dedicated time with him unlike any other doctor Ive EVER been to. So, my personal experience with him and his office has been exceptional for the past seven - eight years. Sorry to hear that others had bad experiences, but not me.

Dont even bother. Rudest office staff I have EVER encountered! Reading these reviews about how rude the Dr. is, I am not at all surprised. They are so backwards from every other doctor I have ever been to. I missed the part of the letter they mailed where it said the paperwork had to be mailed(see below). Instead of working with me, the lady was rude and tried to belittle me. I wasnt even having her attitude though. Nobody is going to speak to me that way. I will make sure everyone knows how these people feel it is acceptable to treat people like trash. They have you fill out paperwork BUT they also want you to do their job for them. You have to make copies of your drivers license and insurance cards. AND get a referral letter, even if your insurance doesnt require a referral. Then youre expected to MAIL it all back and they must receive it at least a week before your appt. Seriously! Why have office staff if the patients do their jobs for them? Completely ridiculous that you cannot bring the paperwork with you to the appt.

saw Dr. Goldman recently and have never been treated so rudely. I waited for TWO HOURS just to be seen (after a 6 week wait just to get in to the practice). I two hour wait would not have been so bad if the doctor was wonderful. He was anything but nice/caring/empathetic. He talked over me, cut me off, made snide remarks about my paperwork and then finally as I was leaving, I overheard him complaining to his staff. ABOUT ME! I could hear him. He did not care though. His staff told me he is always running this late and this is just how it is and the same with his attitude. Maybe he is great if you care to put up with the exorbitant wait and his crusty demeanor. He is not for me and I have not been back.

Ive been seeing Dr Goldman for 11 years. He spends as much time as necessary with each patient which may sometimes makes you wait a while. He will be doing that with you when your turn comes. He provides written detailed instructions for you to follow as you leave. Ive never had any doctor provide such directions. His care has enabled me to lead a productive and happy life despite several life threatening illnesses. Hes a Clinical Professor of Rheumatologist at Emory. One of the reviews titled "left me with a paralyzed vocal cord" has obviously confused Dr Goldman with a surgeon with a similar name. Rheumatologist dont do surgery. That review is not about Dr John Goldman.

Go see Dr. Kelly Weselman instead - shes a rock star. Zero stars is not an option so I had to give Dr. Goldman one star. Dr. Goldman is a stereotypical doctor that thinks he is perfect and knows everything...just ask him, hell tell you. As the patient, you are stupid and obese (Im 6 and 205 and he says Im obese...what?). Everytime I visited his office he took my temperature himself, not the nurse - and he jammed the thermometer so far into my ear that I thought he could see out the other side - it was very painful. When I asked him to take it easy, he scoffed and called me "Alice."

I recently wrote a review on this doctor and later learned there is a name difference. This is NOT the doctor that damaged my life. My doctors name is Dr. John Gouldman, not Goldman. However, I could only rate him as average after reading the other reviews and comparing those reviews with my experience with other doctors. My mistake and I sincerely apologize to Dr. Goldman for mistaking him for the jerk that cut my vocal cord.

Love, love, love Dr.Goldman and his staff! One of the few Drs that will take the time needed to make sure he addresses all issues and is awesome coordinating with my other Drs. Also, carefully documents each visit completely. The staff had always been friendly and super caring. They are very knowledgeable about insurance and scheduling future tests needed, etc. This office has truly been a blessing to me and my family.

Goldman thinks everyone is stupid except himself. He actually was going to prescribe the wrong drug for my treatment because he assumes people are too stupid to know. With a doctorate in my pocket, I am thinking of approaching a lawyer to sue for malpractice. He deserves to be run out of practice. I would give no stars if that were a choice.
