OK, she doesnt make house calls, but otherwise shes as close as it gets to that wonderful TV doctor. Dr. Herrmann ALWAYS works me in and never makes me feel like just another neurotic mom. Yes, you usually have to wait. You know why? Because she treats everyone with that same level of care. The last time I took my child in, she had 6 other "urgent" no-appointment children in there. When you see a doctor "on time," how do you think he or she treated the patients before you? Do you think that doctor spent any time with them? I think that having to wait to see a doctor is a pretty short-sighted reason to switch doctors, if you ask me. If you call Dr. Herrmann after hours, guess what? She calls you back, and she is never annoyed. One day when I started crying, she actually cried too and told me about her own son. She is unbelievably up to date. She has often told us about new studies that come out in the media several months later. For example, she had us increase our childrens Vitamin D months before the American Academy of Pediatricians finally announced the need to increase Vitamin D levels. Finally, if you do your own homework about antibiotics you will find that the science is right there with Dr. Herrmann every time. What other pediatricians do is cater to parents and give them antibiotics because they know it makes parents happy to think that the doctor is actually "doing something." Ever heard of "first do no harm"? Dr. Herrmann actually exemplifies this. Giving someone antibiotics for no reason does not. If you want a doctor who runs his or her practice as a business, tells you whatever it takes to make you happy, ignores half of what you say, etc. then go elsewhere. If you want a doctor who is also a true healer, then take yourself to Dr. Herrmann and be grateful.

my son was running a fever of 104 for several days. I took him to Dr. Hermann. She swore it was a virus called fifths disease or roceaola, both which include a rash. I explained to her that he had no rash and had been holding his head and ears. I also informed her of his acute ear infections and tubes in his ears during our consultation. She got her medical books out and started reading them to me, even after I told her I was familiar w/ both of these childhood illnesses. I went back 2 days later to see her again after he continued at 104 fever, and still had developed no rash. She told me to go get blood work done and white blood cell counts etc. and swore it was still 1 of these 2 viruses. She even wanted to give him a catheter and check for a UTI even after I told her that he is always hydrated and exhibited no sign of this type of infection. After my son continued to run a fever of 104 for 2 more days, I took him to Peachtree Park Peds where Dr. Kuo diagnosed him with a severe ear infection and immediatley put him on antibiotics. He was feeling better within hours, and the fever finally broke. Her staff is rude, the wait is insane, her biiling dept. sends me bills that I and my insurance have already paid and she REALLY needs to be investigated by the state board. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone. I paid her $300 to tell me to put my 1 year old on Motrin every 4 hours, tell me to make him a vegetarian and that hot dogs cause cancer. Unacceptable.

Dr. Herrmann is great, we had to switch away from her office because our insurance changed, but I would love to go back there. She is very no-nonsense, takes quite a bit of time with patients, her staff is competent and friendly, and she has a good mix of western medicine and home remedy advice. A couple of people in reviews below mentioned that the waiting room is dusty. Its true, there are some dust bunnies in the corners, and the toys and books she has are well loved. If this is a make-it-or-break -it issue for you, find another pedi for your little one. And also, maybe re-assess your priorities. My favorite thing about her practice is that I felt like she is very fair about billing--our new pediatrician is always trying to get us to make extra office visits, or to purchase her flu shot--which somehow costs twice as much as CVSs. Never got that feeling from Dr Herrmann.

If youre looking for a fancy office with free coffee and HD TVs to entertain you while youre waiting, look elsewhere. Dr. Hermann is a no nonsense practitioner who spends an inordinate amount of time with her patients and their parents. Our other longtime pediatrician group sent nurse upon nurse into the room to see our children, and we barely got to see the doctors. We are much happier with Dr. Hermanns practice, especially as our children get older and want to participate in their own care by speaking to the doctor. So parents, make your choice: well-appointed offices that are paid for by "drive by doctoring" or a pediatrician who chooses to reduce her practices revenue so she can spend more time with her patients in a day. The US medical system doesnt support both business models, unfortunately.

My son has been seeing Dr. Herrmann since he was about 6 months old, he will be 2 years old in about 2 months. The other pediatrician he saw was very sweet and caring but just didnt have the range of information that we needed. I was having to do alot of research to get answers she wasnt aware of. Dr. Herrmann on the other hand was knowledgeable about information and research I found and she was even telling me about information I had not found. We like that Dr. Herrmann is knowledgeable in medicine AND researches natural methods of healthcare as well (concern about the ingredients in foods and advocating for organic food and medicine when applicable). We are very pleased with the care we have received from Dr. Herrmann, the nurse, and staff.

My daughter has been going to Dr. Herrmann since she was about 5 years old. She is now 17. Dr. Herrmann impressed me from day 1. My daughter has special needs and would never speak to DR. H. To engage her Dr. H ALWAYS spoke to her and one about 6 years into being her patient my daughter responded to her. DR. H, is very good, I remember on our second or third visit my daughter came in with the worst cough ever, she sounded like a little dog bark. Dr. Herrman heard her cough and said that sounds like strep throat. After completing a strep test, it came back with strep!. She is older and knows her stuff. I love the way she sits down and takes time with each patient. and Francesca is my daughters favorite nurse!

I was referred to thie doctor by a friend, since we had recently moved. Gosh, not used to seeing an office dirty, front desk arent very polite and the toys she has in the room were also dirty and dusty. She examined my son on his well visit at the time and proceed to tell me to buy several vitamins to treat cancer or prevent cancer, Weird? we were told by our previous doctor not to give our son vitamins since he ate enough vegestable and fruit. He was 19 months old at the time. She seems spacy when talking too, just wouldnt recomend this doctor.... We decided to search for another doctor with great reviews online. Well she charges $35 fee for forwarding records to any doctors/hospital etc...
