Having had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted back at the end of 2011, if you would have asked me about my experience with the Douglasville location after recovery I would have given them a glowing review. Even after their followup call in March of 2012, during which they told me that my insurance had denied to process two of the extractions under my dental coverage and that they would need to be resubmitted as medical claims (which I came away from the conversation thinking that their office was going to do), I still would have given them nothing but praises. However, fast forwarding to the beginning of last month when I got a call from the "home office" stating that there was still an outstanding balance on my account, my experience with Great Expressions is quickly taking a nightmarish turn. I just left my second message with the Douglasville location requesting a call back, so that I can get a copy of the procedure billing statement to send off myself (because I now learn that they dont do that type of billing), with the deadline looming on the horizon as to when I might still be able to submit the claim with my insurance. Because this sat unresolved, unbeknownst to me, on someones desk or in a filing cabinet for almost two years with no phone calls, notices, or follow-ups, my insurance company might not honor the claim because of its age. Combine this with the threat of collections from the lady I have been speaking with at their home office, and I couldnt say loudly or quickly enough to avoid this company at all costs. Had there been a phone call or a letter, anything really, between then and now, this could have been easily solved. However, I, the customer, am now left trying to scramble to get paperwork in to my insurance company before a deadline that I didnt even know I had to meet, while simultaneously not receiving something as simple as a call-back from the billing office of the people who are making threats of sending my outstanding balance to a collections agency if I dont hurry up and give them money. POOR business practices guarantees that I will NEVER do business with this company again, and I would stress to anyone who is looking for dental services to continue your search elsewhere.

I only put 5 stars so ppl can see this!! Dont waste your time and money!!! (Ortho) Very unprofessional place. Kamala I think thats her name it know starts with a K. She basically chased me down in the back and talked about my financial business in front of everyone. I told her let me finish and I will be happy to talk with you in a private sitting. My monthly payment was due days after that on the 15th and i always payed on the 15th. Thank you Shelia for dealing with that. Shelia handle everything professionally and she is the most sweetest person!! Yesterday I had an appt at 4. I left my house at 1 because I live 1 hr and 15 mins from the office. I did live 20 but I moved and I asked if I could change locations and they said no. Anyways I got into nasty traffic the worst traffic possible alot of accidents I think because of the weather so I called around 3:30 and called until 4 they dont answer phones. Finally kamala answered and I asked her if I could be 20 mins late she said no I only allow 10 mins grace period. I got soooo pissed because she couldnt give me 10 extra mins!! I was stuck in traffic for 3 hours!!!! And also put my baby in daycare which i never ever do. So she made me change my appt for next week. I dont like that lady at all. They need to fire her! Shes making their business look so bad. Shelia is the best they have shes such a great, sweet, caring person. Very responsible and respectful. I will be getting my braces off soon and I couldnt be more happier!

I had a wonderful experience (for the dentist). The dentist I saw, Dr Colbert, knew I was terrified of dentists because of a previous bad experience elsewhere. She informed me what was going on in my mouth and discussed all my options with me. I had to come back to meet with Dr Ash the periodontist, and she took the time to talk to him with me, about what we had discussed. His assistants made sure I had what I needed (even a blanket because I got cold) and from my first visit I was given a treatment plan with the dollar figures of each visit laid out. My check ups have been covered. Ive never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for anything, and although my procedure is not quite fininshed, my mouth feels better than it has in years! Im not exagerating. Dr Ash was gentle in surgery and talked me through all the steps. I healed just like he said I would. I had no real issues, but whenever I called with general questions (like what is this supposed to look like?) I always got a phone call back. I got directions for post surgical care three or four times before leaving. I wish I knew his assistants name, shes great and demonstrates everything (about how to swish my mouth clean, and not to spit, and even how to make the brush softer so I could brush starting the day following surgery) Anyway, I give drs. Colbert and Ash, his assistant, and administrator 2 thumbs up. But I will agree the blond receptionist could be a bit more receptive...

My 8 year old tells me his mouth hurts. Okay, clearly a cavity. I take him in expressly informing them that we were there to take care of his cavity. Doctor looks at him. Sure enough, cavities- a large one that hurts him and 4 little ones that didnt. Then they tell me to come back in two to three weeks to have it fixed. Wtf?! Thats the whole reason we are here! My dentists in Las Vegas always did same day, (or same week if they were very busy). So fine, well come back. Then come to find out, they were going to fix all his little ones first and do the painful one last. Seriously?! Give the poor kid a break! And of course theres the required dental form that must be filled out so my kindergartener can go to school here in Douglasville. Hes been seen by Great Expressions before (within the past 6 months!) but even though they have his file and theyve done the work, the dentist refuses to look at his chart and sign a document stating that he sees a dentist until his next check up. Which of course wont be until after the start of school. they refuse to schedule any earlier, not because of high volume of patients (that I could understand) but because he has been seen by a doctor in the last 6 months and the earliest they will see him is on his 6 month anniversary of his last appointment. So he is still in his 6month window of care, but thats not good enough to sign a paper that says that he has been seen in the last 6 months? I am so done.

he worst. Do NOT go to Great Expressions. The other bad reviews are right on the money. We spent 2.5 hours there and they did nothing but take (18) xrays. They barely touched our teeth and did not probe at all. My wife and I were both told that we had bone decay, periodontal disease, and gum disease. Additionally, she had gingivitis and needed to have braces and her wisdom teeth extracted. I also had two cavities (one between the teeth) that the hygienist could allegedly see without probing. Interestingly, they were more interested in "deep cleaning" our gums than fixing my cavities. They gave us estimates for a debridement for my wife ($125) and a perio scaling and cleaning ($475). Our old dentist (who is no longer in our network) said that there is no way our teeth could deteriorate so much in six months. The Great Expressions people acted like we had never seen a dentist! I saw negative reviews on this and other sites as soon as we left the office and knew without a doubt that we had been had! Thank goodness we didnt let them touch our teeth any more than they did! If you are a victim of Great Expressions, complain to your insurance companys fraud department. You can also file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Georgia Office of Consumer Protection. These people are scam artists and constitute a public health hazard.
