**** EDIT**** I was quite pleased with the conversation I had with the dentist today about my childs extraction. They took an extra xray and showed it to me. It definitely set me more at ease about having it done. They even let me come back and sit with him because he was so nervous about it. Extra star for taking time to explain some things. ********************************************************************** Im iffy with this place. Ive had cleanings run fine, although FMD was pricey, cant blame them for insurance being stupid. Wisdom tooth extraction went horribly wrong. Ive had 4 teeth pulled before by other dentists when I got braces as a teen, so I had a rough idea of what to expect with shots. Everything was fine until the final shot in the roof of my mouth. I dont know if they hit a nerve, or a blood vessel, but I went into a severe headache moments later. When I started crying from the pain, I was brushed aside with an aspirin and blamed for "being nervous". Then referred to an oral surgeon. Owning up to a mistake or showing a little more empathy might have improved my opinion of the place. That said, my kids teeth cleanings and minor "wiggly" extractions have gone smoothly. I will most likely think twice before letting them fill cavities though (thankfully we havent had any yet). Presently they want to pull my sons front tooth that is not wiggly or showing any signs of an adult tooth emerging that I can see. I am going to ask to see xrays and have the dentist lay out a full plan for me on this. No need to pull if the tooth isnt ready. We have also had long waits happen in the past, but then again Ive missed an appointment and they gave me some mercy as well. Things happen. I appreciate that.

I am so disgruntled with my experience there. I went in to get my Xrays done to find out how many extractions that I needed. Sarai (lead) did everything great, she set me up to be referred out. While I am waiting for the referral the Corporate Manager Deborah calls me to the back and says you dont have to be referred out, we can do the extractions right here in house. I say "Great". She schedules me for 2 days later at 8a. I get to the appointment. As time rolls by it is now 8:30am I am still sitting in the lobby waiting to be seen. No one has said anything. Sarai comes out and says "Oh there has been an error" the doctor will not be able to see you. What!! Are you kidding me. I have taken 2 days off from work to take care of this. She continues to apologize and gives me referral information. She then says Beth scheduled this without speaking to the doctor. WOW!! So 2 days missed of work, then sent to a referral faciltiy to have the same process done once they can actually schedule me. Just to take off two more days of work. Naturally Beth is not in the office for me to speak to her. Of course she isnt when she has made a customer upset. I tried to call her several times and of course I am being sent to voicemail. If you have another option for a dentist, go there. However Sarai was very apologetic regarding the situation even though she didnt really have anything to do with it. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN HELP IT!

Kept me and my kids waiting over 2 hours. This was AFTER they were called back to the exam room. Took x-rays, then at the end, marched my kids out to the waiting room and told me they wouldnt be cleaning my older two childrens teeth due to "build up". This was in front of everyone waiting in the waiting room. No care was given to my childrens privacy at all. Their solution was an FMD cleaning which would cost me $300 per child. How they expected I could pay that I will never know because Medicaid doesnt cover it. I suspect that they just wanted to get rid of us because they were behind schedule. I will be getting a second opinion and if I find out they attempted to scam me I will be reporting them. They also do not allow you to go back with your children. No explanation was offered as to why they waited so long after being called back, only to be refused their covered cleanings. Update: took my children to see an out of network dentist today. NEITHER one had any cavities or required anything more than a REGULAR $95 cleaning. The new Dentist told me there is no way those kids should have required that level of cleaning as it had only been a couple of years between cleanings. Avoid A Smile 4 U in Hiram like the plague, unless you like paying for unnecessary procedures. Also, they just violated HIPPA by publicly posting info about my minor childrens care. Love the scruples of this place...

I called to schedule an appointment for my 1 year old daughter (new patient) and was routed to a call center. The lady I reached spoke very poor English. On top of that, she was very rude and I kept having to repeat myself while speaking with her. Towards the latter part of the conversation when she found a time slot for me, I asked her who was the doctor my daughter would see. She told me she didnt know. She said normally one particular doctor see children but that she wasnt sure which of the two doctors she was showing on duty that day would see my daughter. I asked for those two doctors names, scheduled the appointment, hung up and googled the the two doctors names she gave me only to find very low reviews. I called back and spoke with another lady that spoke very poor English as well. I advised her that Id just spoke to someone less than 10mins prior, scheduled an appointment for my daughter but that I needed to cancel the appointment. I advised her that I was canceling because of the low reviews and how rude the scheduler that Id just spoke with was to me. She laughed so hard that she had to apologize for laughing so hard. That was very awkward. Everything from the beginning to the end.

They over book there selfs then they think they can go into a a room with a scare child and just start working. Without the child being upset and when that happens they come out and tell you they couldnt do the work because the childs up set. Well if you didnt over book your self you might have time to go in and get to know the child before just rushing in like a mad dentist and expecting the child to be happy to see you and just opening up there mouth like your going to give them candy. They cant keep the same staff up front for more than 2 months. The turn over of employees is awful! If I was in a contract with them for my daughters braces I wouldnt be going back. We have been going there for over 6 yrs. but the past 2 have been like a nightmare !!! They sent us all the way to cartersville to see a oral surgeon just for him to tell us that its a tooth that doesnt require oral surgery , now they want to send us to another because they dont want to deal with my daughter being up set. The first oral surgeon told me the tooth that needs to come out is just imbedded in the gum it doesnt even have any roots. It came in cross ways and is now blocking a adult tooth from going down.
