I have used Dr. Shelton off and on for about six years however never used her for any major procedures. Se h perfomed minor surgery on my dog and used a "mild reversible" anesthesia, Domitor to sedate my just 3 week shy of being 12 years old dog. She never ran any blood work prior to sedating her and didnt use any special precautions post surgery. My dog started hving problems coughing and gagging and I had to take her to a specialist. After researching Domitor it is only FDA labeled for "healthy exercise tolerant animals" and extreme caution is to be used for very young or older animals. It causes a severe drop in blood pressure and this caused my dog to suffer cardiac problems which ultimately resulted in my having to have her euthanized 30 minutes before her 12th birthday. When I started asking questions suddenly a hand written piece of paper surfaced with some notes on alleged blood work that was done. I was never charged for it, it was not done in my presence, Dr. Shelton had already drawn up the sedation and was ready to sedate her when I stepped out of her mobile unit and there is no information on fax transmission as she alleges was faxed. Dr. Shelton is trying to cover her mistake of being negligent by not running blood work and using Domitor that was obviously contraindicated for my dog. I have requested my dogs records 5 weeks ago and I still have not received them.

I appreciate dr shelton so much, if not for her we would have lost our beloved teacup poodle years ago, she had nursed and guided us too make sure our little furry son had the best quality of life even though he had several life threatening issues for many years...he was happy and active till the very end which was this morning at 4 30am with my husband and myself at his side when he took his last breath at the Grand old age of 17 years. I am posting this to honor my little guy and thank you Dr Shelton for your compassion and your professionalism and your willingness to listen to my concerns and how to make my little guys life better......
