The dentist are needlessly expensive and decided not to address the issue I came in to take care of i.e. a one of my front teeth which was noticeably chipped and actively in pain. Instead, they pushed for me to extract a tooth no one could see and that was not in pain. Even worse they referred me to an outpatient specialist for that which, says they are grossly unfit to take care of even the most basic tooth care needs. EVERY dentist in America should be capable of an extraction,. Furthermore, a basic extraction for 1 tooth does not require you to be put to sleep, especially when it is NOT a wisdom tooth and does not require any incisions into the cheek or other major complications. I ended up refusing the needless general anesthesia and opting for a more appropriate and cost effective local anesthetic and saw the whole extraction, there was no point in pushing such an expensive and unwanted option that would render me incapable of getting myself home or taking care of myself for the next few hours. Oh and yeah, I almost forgot, the people there, also, planned on extracting more than just the tooth I was scheduled to have extracted. The extra teeth they planned to remove, had I not been awake and free to object were SAVED via simple filings and a root canal by my new dentist more than a year later. This goes to show these people are ready to rip out teeth that still have time on them to get fixed and I probably didnt need the extraction they gave me. Make sure you get a few opinions, any time a dentist recommends extracting multiple teeth off the cuff and never trust them to put you under for a simple extraction because it is more expensive, unnecessary and leaves you vulnerable to waking up with a lot of holes in your smile. Overall, I felt taken advantage of and discontinued their care immediately. Simply put, they dont even give you the option of addressing your personal concerns for your own mouth. You should always have the option of what treatments you want to pursue at a given time. Had I not been coerced into pursuing that extraction (and secretly other extractions, apparently) ending up with heavy out of pocket expenses on a very limited budget, the tooth I initially went to Great Expressions for to get filled would NOT have become assessed and eventually ended up needing a root canal and crown. Basically, I almost lost a relatively healthy tooth with a simple solution, in pursuit of a tooth that was deemed not worth saving because of their shady practices. That, plus the 3 other teeth they were going to secretly extract while, they put me under would have been a total of 5 teeth I could have lost as a result of their shady respond. Instead, because I knew better I only lost 1 tooth that day, even though, 3 of my teeth went from needing to be filled to needing root canals. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR TEETH! THEY ONLY WANT TO PUSH TO INTO GETTING EXPENSIVE DENTAL IMPLANTS WHICH COST $4000-$5000 A TOOTH AND MUCH PAIN AND RECUPERATION!!!

I had started getting more frequent cleanings due to calculus build up on my lower anterior lingual surfaces because of a permanently bonded retainer. So this was a cleaning 4 months after my previous cleaning instead of the usual 6 months most people receive. At that previous cleaning I was given fluoride to use at home, but was not told of any serious problems. At my most recent appointment I cannot recall seeing anyone in the office I had seen before other than the front office staff. After having bitewing X-rays taken of all my teeth I was told that I had some bone loss due to periodontal disease! Furthermore, the hygienist told me that the previous time I was there I had been misdiagnosed by them!!! What the hell !?! In order for bone loss to appear on an X-ray this must have been taking place for a prolonged period of time!! This is similar to seeing a carie (cavity) on an X-ray; by the time it shows up on an X-ray it has been there for quite some time. This is why your dentist uses a pick to look for soft areas where enamel should be hard on your tooth. If it is soft, it is likely a carie. When I spoke to the Regional Manager who happened to be in this office that day she asked me how I was doing. Of course, I told her of this "little" problem and that I would never go there again. If you cannot get reliable, quality dental treatment from your dental professionals what is the point of employing them? I am considering consulting an attorney to sue them for malpractice. This should give you an idea of how badly this went! I have already filed a complaint with the Georgia Board of Dentistry and they are looking into this place! I would urge anyone reading this to stay away from Great Expressions altogether. Previous to this episode I have seen this office go through several dentists. It seems to indicate that the corporate environment these providers are working in is not appealing, or else they would remain there. They even went so far as to fire at least one dentist who received numerous complaints (according to what my previous, regular, competent hygienist told me). Previous to Great Expressions buying out this office it was known as Nanston Dental. At that time I had a competent dentist, Dr. Kimberly Williams, who I felt was knowledgeable & competent. I would not let Great Expressions clean my dogs teeth now! I can not reiterate this more clearly stay away from Great Expressions.

Im being generous by giving this place one star. This place is a SCAM. I went in to have my teeth cleaned and x-rays. The hygienist cut my gums several times while giving me about 20 different x-rays . My gums were bleeding by the time she was done. After the x-rays, the dentist comes in and examines my teeth. She then tells me I have server bone loss and needed a "deep cleaning". I have never had an issue with my teeth. The dentist then tells me that she recommends a "treatment plan". At that time I became somewhat skeptical. After waiting about 20 minutes, the hygienist comes in with an itemized invoice for $580.00 to have a "deep cleaning treatment". I then ask the hygienist if she could just give me the normal cleaning and if I could come back in a couple months for the deep cleaning. She replied "NO". Even though I was growing more skeptical, I agreed to the deep cleaning. The hygienist the left the room again for another 20 minutes. Meanwhile , I hear the dentist in the next room giving a woman the same "deep cleaning" spiel. I could tell by her questions and responses that she was skeptical as well. So then the office manager comes in with an itemized invoice for $900 and says the this was for "deep cleaning" my entire mouth. The $580 invoice I was presented earlier was for just doing half my mount. By this time, I have had enough. I rip my bib off and told her "I was leaving. I needed to get a second opinion before I spend $900 for you to clean my teeth.". I took a half day off work and wasted 2 hours of my time at this place and all I left with was bloody gums. I will NEVER go back to this place. Nor will I recommend this place to anyone.
