My experience with the Dental office was everything less than a wonderland… my only wonder is THAT PREJUDICE REMAINS LIVELY I am a caretaker of a 5 year old child that has had tooth pain for a week and needed special care as related to an autism diagnosis. We drove 45 minutes across Atlanta to make this appointment. Upon arrival at the facility there was one customer coming out as the mother of the 5 year old to be seen entered. The mother called back to the car for me to come in with the keys… As I, the caretaker attempted to get the keys … the mother and child were sent right back out of the door as the sign appeared on the door : “CLOSED FOR LUNCH 12:-1:30”. It is only 11:40. Why was it necessary to place this sign there as she entered. The child was given an 11:30 appointment (documented) and confirmed the day before. When the mother arrived at 11:40 (10 minutes late) she was told that he could not be seen because she was late. These are the words that describe my Negative experience: RUDE .. to jump up and place a ‘closed for lunch sign’ as customer is attempting to walk in UNCARING……of Children to be Pediactric Care. No offer to reschedule…… or empathy… just kept repeating ‘we have other patients’ Wow! PARTIAL … There were no patients waiting in the lobby area where I was.. Finally: Since I could not understand how this made us feel. I went into the office myself to get clarification; As soon as I called the child’s name, I was told: We tried to call at 11:20 and did not get an answer; We have other patients to be seen and cannot see him. There was no offer to reschedule …. The call supposedly made at 11:20 did not appear to be true … Technology shows missed calls on new Iphones. The appointment was confirmed the day before for 11:30 not 11:20 as he insisted. I understand fully if they make no exceptions for being 10 minutes late. However MY COMPLAINT IS HOW THE WHOLE SITUATION WAS HANDLED.TO GET UP AND HANG A CLOSED FOR LUNCH SIGN AS SOON AS ONE ENTERS (20 minutes before) There is a good reason that fate had this to happen because I would never surrender the care of a child with special needs to such uncaring like treatment. One final word and I’m done… I hope this post will serve to enlighten the staff here so that others are never treated with such disrespect and uncaring attitudes.

The staff was very nice and the office was bright and inviting. Dr. Karina, however, was very abrasive towards me on two different visits. I have a 3 year old son with Autism, and brushing and flossing his teeth is quite difficult sometimes. Dr. Karina found a few caries and proceded to treat me like I was a negligent mother. She went off on me. Everyone in the back had actually stopped what they were doing to stare. She told me that I just have to hold him down and brush his teeth, no more "nicey nicey".(Which I was doing anyways.) She is telling me that I should be doing a better job of cleaning his teeth, when it took her, a dental assistant, and me to hold him down while she tried to brush and look at his teeth. He locked his jaw, and she used metal clamps to pry open his mouth. Well, I guess she assumes I have those sitting in my bathroom as well as two other adults to help me hold him down twice a day. She then proceeds to chastise me about giving him candy; he does not eat candy, ever. He has sensory issues and only eats a limited number of foods. So, I found that awful presumptuous to just assume I pump my kid full of candy. She then wanted to put him under IV sedation in her clinic. That immediately raised red flags. I ended up taking him to another pediatric office where I was told she could tell I was brushing, that he unfortunately has weak enamel. She collaborated with me to figure out ways to make teeth brushing easier for my son and me. They then, responsibly, sent me to a pediatric dental center located right by CHOA, and where his procedure would be supervised by a pediatric anesthesiologist. He also did not need IV sedation at all, he received an oral relaxtion drug and laughing gas, and did great. Im sure she is great with typical children, but I have a very difficult special needs child, and there was no compassion or an opportunity for me to tell her where and why I was struggling. Instead, I was humiliated and left with tears in my eyes. I just dont think she should advertise that she is a special needs dentist.

Had to choose from a narrow list of CIGNA providers. A quick google search of all of them and Wonderland was the ONLY one with ALL positive reviews. Great personable & helpful staff right from the first call. Love their all electronic system that allowed me to fill out the paperwork when it was convenient for me ahead of time instead of on paper in the office 20 minutes before an appointment with two squirmy kids...although they wouldnt have been squirming since their waiting room is a literal kid dreamscape! (the coffee & tea selection for parents was a welcome warmth but partake quickly before your kids are called back, because they cant allow it in the back!) Adorable little play wait room for them and much to my girls delight (they rarely get to watch the latest flicks) TVs all over playing the latest movies. Even ones right on the ceiling when they got their teeth cleaned which pretty much made them impervious to whatever was happening in their mouth and often forgot to close their mouths until told to lol. The back office is open and well laid out, everything is easily accessible without going in and out of a lot of doors. Gorgeous Murals and an interesting dark star light room in the back. Little treasure box to choose from when all is said and done and the goody bag of toothbrush, paste, picks was a real hit too. The most important part though is that Dr. Karina is sweet and has a way with children that comes naturally to her. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and knew to dole out praise. Such a relief to find somebody genuine and trustworthy after bouncing through corporate chain dentist shops that are only out to get as much money from you as possible and have a new pediatric dentist every couple of months. I know my girls are both VERY much looking forward to their next visit in 6 months as ANY kid would after visiting Dr. Karina in her swanky new home. Im so happy to have found a great dentist and hope she is always covered under our insurance!

I cant be more satisfied than seeing smiles from my childrens face each time we visit Dr.Katrinas office. My youngest daughter was horrified to even go to the dental office after an incident with one of her older brothers and I had such a hard time finding the right dentist for her. But the minute she walked in and met Dr.Katrina, all her fears seemed to have vanished in just a few minutes of talking to her. She even let them take x-rays AND got her first cleaning done! All in the first visit, without a struggle to get her to sit still!!! I was impressed by her reaction and all my three children fell in love with Dr.Katrina. My middle son was traumatized from another dental office after a horrible experience of being strapped down during one of the procedures. And because of this experience, he was also skeptical about visiting dentists. However, all that changed ever since we stepped into this office! The staff is also very helpful and courteous. The very first visit, they allowed me to stay next to my children during their procedures, which not a lot of other places do. But after the first visit, it was my children who asked me to stay in the waiting room. I cant thank them enough for this smooth transformation of my childrens view on dentists! I highly recommend Dr.Katrina to anyone looking for a great, reliable, and genuinely caring practice. Thank you Sergei for all your help as well!!! Your accommodation is greatly appreciated! =) I want to add one more comment about what my youngest daughter said. When it was time for her to visit her primary doctor for an immunization shots, she said "ok, we are going to go see MY doctor, right?" And I didnt know what she meant at first. And when I asked her again, she said "you know, the NICE doctor who fixed my teeth! Thats the doctor I want you to take me to!" =) So sweet!!!
