I would give this place zero stars if I had the choice. I used to work in the kennel which was well organized but returning as a client I realized that the front desk/doctor has no idea whats going on, Connie the receptionist and Dr Flaska as well. Im in the process of bringing my dog to Hawaii and they have a very strict protocol to follow. First and foremost before my dogs scheduled appointments I called to explain what needed to be done, I spoke with Connie. Upon coming in to PREPAY for my appointments, as my parents were bringing my dog in to finish up the procedure, Connie not only gave me snobby, above-all attitude when I told her I wanted to prepay for specific things "How do I know this is all that is going to be done". She also had no idea how to pull up charges for a health certificate and ended up over charging me instead of asking someone for help. Most businesses these days are happy when you prepay for services but it was literally like pulling teeth from a child to get Connie to take my money. I then wrote down the specifics of what needed to be written on my dogs blood test(2 simple things-a microchip # and destination Hawaii) and the morning after my mother brought him in Dr Flaska called (6am my time)to ask if my dog had a microchip-I figured after going to school for years to get a degree that taking a wand over my dogs back to check for a microchip would be the easiest of things to do as unlicensed workers at shelters even have this ability. Overall Im extremely disappointed in this animal clinic and how they disregarded my requests even when written down in the simplest of terms to make thing easier and unquestionable-good thing I didnt give them the five page long version of what needs to be done or theyd probably still be reading it and scratching their heads... DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A COMPETENT OFFICE TO DO EVEN THE MOST BASIC OF PROCEDURES.

These folks have been taking care of our pets, my folks pets for over 3 decades ( 4 dogs, countless cats, rescues ). With so many veterinary practices, we would never switch. Dr. Kuhnle performed surgery on our dog, on a Sunday with the surgery lasting over 3 hours. We could have taken her to one of the emergency vets costing thousands of dollars, although cost of care is not an issue. We trust these folks. Sometimes there is a wait and although they prefer appointments, they will see us when needed. Were willing to wait understanding that someone elses pet is ill and may need help causing appointments to go a little longer. Im surprised at the negative reviews as Ive been going there over 30 years and never had an issue. You can potentially pay less at other places; but Id worry whether they know what theyre doing. Pets cannot speak for themselves and you risk having a worsening situation by the time you notice an issue. Thank you Arlington Heights staff! We LOVE YOU!

My experience is with Dr. Kuhnle. I took my rat here for a bit of an emergency neuter when he started attacking his cage mate. They charged $100 even. Paid them some cash, NO NEW CLIENT FEE, no checkup fee. Simple. He was in and out within hours. A woman there had her rat there for tumor removal for $75 (Ive been quoted everywhere from $200-$650 for a simple rat mass removal.) Ive also been told that they will see 2 rats for 1 check-up fee. My only complaint is that they dont give antibiotics after a neuter, only pain medicine. I put him on antibiotics I already had until he healed up. If I hadnt had those lying around, he might have gotten an abscess, which would have been another visit.

I took my baby, Bubba, here because my vets office was not open. He tore off one of his nails/broke his toe (ironically only a few hours before a scheduled nail appointment with his regular vet-isnt that how it goes?) Although Bubba was a first-time patient, the staff were very accommodating and kind, even though our pet-mergency set them back on their regular appointments. I had a few questions I didnt think to ask before I took Bubba home, and Dr. Kuhnle called me back within half an hour to answer my questions in-depth. The whole staff put me at ease, and despite the circumstances of our visit, I am glad we were able to meet such a wonderful team.

ARLINGTON HTS ANIMAL HOSP HAS BEEN PRIMARY CARE GIVER FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS. DR KUHNLE HAS BEEN MY PRINCIPAL DOCTOR, BUT DRS FLASKA, BARKSDALE, & CLOW HAVE BEEN MY BACK UPS, TOO. MY 2 SIB HUSKIES, 3 GER SHEPHERDS, & 2 RUSSIAN SHEEPDOGS HAVE BEEN CLIENTS OF THE HOSPITAL THEIR WHOLE LIVES. MY EXPERIENCE IS EXTREMELY POSITIVE. THE DOCTORS ARE CARING & KNOWLEDGEABLE. ITS A OBVIOUS TO ME & TO OTHER CLIENTS IVE TALKED TO IN THE HOSP LOBBY THAT THE SUPPORT STAFF & DOCTORS ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELFARE OF THE ANIMALS THEN THE MONEY. IM SUBMITTING THIS UNSOLICITED. IM VERY MUCH AN ADVOCATE FOR MY DOGS TO SEEK OUT THE BEST VETERINARY CARE.

Im not very happy with Arlington Heights animal hospital. Today my puppy got a wellness check up and tonight we noticed she had an ear mite infection, which was easy to see just by looking at her ear. I now realize that the vet had forgotten to check her ears and eyes. Now I dont want to go back to the vet because I will be charged another exam fee when it all should have been diagnosed today. On top of that, the service was extremely slow even when it was slow in the clinic. I gave them two stars because all the people there were very pleasant and nice, but Im upset that I paid $40 for a wellness exam that wasnt thorough.

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!! First of all, they reminded me of a car mechanic who purposely attempts to rip you off. They charged us over $300 for some blood work for our dog, said theyd call us with the results a day later, and then never called...I finally got around to calling them 4 days later, and they couldnt find the report...called us back later that day with the results which were of course negative...made us feel ripped off and treated poorly.

Thank you so very much! We really LOVED our visit with Dr. Kuhnle. We are very impressed with the ease she handled our cat Wooly. We tried to see another doctor before and we were told that Wooly was a "tough cookie" and needed to be sedated for a basic exam! Dr Kuhnle examined him without a hitch, no sedation involved. Dr. Kuhnle answered a lot of questions, she was very kind to us. We will definitely come back. Eugene and Anna Gore

I called and they were able to see me and hour later, which was amazing since all other places didnt have openings until 4-6 days later. The doctor was thorough and very kind and it was an overall pleasant and quick experience. I felt that the vet really took her time with us, and we did not feel rushed at all. All the workers there that I had contact with were also amazing and the facility was clean and well maintained. Will return.

This is a great place to take your pets. They are friendly and attentive. They take special efforts to make your baby feel good because they know that most animals are not a fan of the vet. Refilling medicine is quick and easy. You need to call ahead so they have time to get the meds filled or if you need a follow call from a doctor. Every docotor we have dealt with has been great.
