My son saw Dr. Iyengar about 6 months ago. He had horrible acne. Dr. Iyengar wanted to put him on Acutane which is a medication with many side affects and is considered to be quite dangerous by many in the medical community. In order to recieve the prescription in the pharmacy you must pick up the prescription within 7 days of the date on the prescription and before recieving the next months prescription you must have blood work done. With these things in mind I refused Acutane and asked the doctor to start with a more basic approach. We were given creams and Minocycline 75 mg. Within 3 months my sons face was completely clear. The doctor was amazed at the results and told me he would keep my son on the maintence perscription until he were 18-21 years of age. Yesterday we went to pick up the prescription and was told we had to see the doctor before he would renew the prescription. When I called the office and told them my sons face is completely clear and I did not understand why they were not renewing the prescription they said he had to see the doctor again...in short...another co-pay. The doctor has spent no more than 15 minutes with my son in total, but we have spent about $600 for his care. I am less than impressed with his services. Although my sons face is clear, my pediatrition could have prescribed the same medication and cost me far less. I will not be going back to Dr. Iyengar since it seems he is more interested in my pocket book than my sons face. On a positive note, his staff was friendly and kind.

Dr. Vivek Iyengar damaged my face significantly! I actually educated him on various things and voiced my concerns on a chemical peel for my face after what i read in a google search but he arroagantly assured me it would be fine and so i agreed to have him do a chemical peel and it completely ruined my face! I had to go into hiding for over a year! It has now been almost 3 years and my face is still in worse condition than it was in before going to see Dr. Vivek Iyengar!!! Still! Years of my life have been wasted b/c i went to see this ignorant, dishonest doctor who clearly has NO CLUE what he is doing! I reported him to the state medical board but if you are not missing an arm or leg, they will just dismiss your case so this guy is still in business and making millions of dollars spreading his ignorant medical judgement! You have been warned!

Dr. Iyengar was Great. I went to have a mole removed from my shoulder. He said it was nothing to worry about but could remove it. He then asked me about a mole on my face I said it didnt bother me so I wasnt really concerned about it. He said I dont like the look of it. So I let him remove it and Thank Goodness he saw it. It was cancerous but caught early enough that no further treatment after the removal was needed. I am so grateful as I was not even there to ask about that mole. I have a scar on my face that is slowly fading but I will take a scar over what this could have become if it wasnt removed when it was. I would highly recommend him.

What a rip off! This office charges ridiculously high fees. I had a small wart frozen off my toe. Dr. Iyengar pulled an aerosol can out of the cubbard, froze the growth for 5-10 seconds and sent me on my way. My appointment was under 10 minutes and they billed me $320 for surgery! I was so upset when I got the bill, this is an absurd price! I called the office to confirm that these fees are accurate and they told me yes and told me to make payments if the specialist fees were to much, but not to be late as they would send me to collections. Would never ever recommend this office!

Wonderful recent experience with Dr. Vivek Iyengar at University of Chicago. Our long-time dermatologist, Keyoumars Soltani, recommended Dr. Iyengar for the MOHs surgery my husband needed. We did not meet Dr. Iyengar until the day of the surgery and found him wonderfully engaging and warm and extremely experienced. It was actually Dr. Soltanis brilliant fellow, Eduardo Moioli, who performed most of the surgery under the approving and watchful eye of Dr. Iytengar. We recommend him without hesitation. Merle K. I went to him for fillers and a small amount of Botox which he suggested and charged me 1000.00. You could not even tell I had anything done. I went back to let him know that it really should look better. He did not take any responsibility, just told me I looked softer....I did not! 1000.00 I should had given to Red Cross or a poor family. Shame on you Dr. Iyengar. I will not be back !
