I took my dog to Pet Smart for grooming while I went to a Drs appointment. While at the groomers my dog had a slight "seizure". Pet Smart tried calling me but I did not have my phone on me in the appointment. Not understanding what was going on, the groomer took her to Banfield since it was in the same building. Banfield considered this an emergency, even though the "seizure" was so slight that they could walk my dog to the Pet Hospital, and gave her an IV of anti-seizure medicine. Banfield charged me $160 for this without approval. I took my dog to my own vet who simply suggested I monitor her seizures over time to see the severity of them. We did not put her on drugs but I was given anti-seizure pills in case the seizures became severe. The episodes were so slight that she still functions during the 2-4 minute episodes and snaps right out of them. Medicine was never needed. My vet has since diagnosed it as a food allergy and by simply switching dog foods my dog no longer has the episodes. Never should this have been considered an emergency and drugs administered. I dont expect a groomer to know this, but a Pet Hospital should have known better. I found Banfield to lack greatly in expertise and charged a ridiculously high price. When I tried to get my charge reduced, they simply said I wasnt charged an office fee and that was as low as they could go. Very poor customer service.

Ive been going here for rats and will be going here for my new puppy as well. No, they are not the cheapest---but then again, thats not what Im thinking about when I choose a vet. I want the best care possible for my pet and I make sure I can afford it by getting pet insurance. Ive gotten very good care for my pets here. They never once looked down on my pets because they were rats (and this has happened at other vets) and they understood that they were family members. Indeed, one of the vets there, Dr. Pavlovsky, has twice taken his own time, once before his hours were supposed to start and once when he was about to leave, to check on my pets, once because my rat had suddenly started turning over onto her back and the other time purely because hed dealt with my rat the most and wanted to make sure she was doing better after all the trouble shed been having. They were always honest with me about what tests they thought were needed to diagnose and never pushed any just because they were more expensive. Theyve always treated my pets wonderfully and that is why I will continue to go there.

My cat was just 3 months old, and had liquid stools. I brought my cat to banfield pet hospital, they suggested me to do so many exams for my cat, it was like a whole body test and costs over 600-700 dollars. I said the kitten was too small to do too many exams, They did some exams for my cat and charge me over 350 dollars, then I purchased medicines and suggested food from them, the problem is my cat became even worse afterwards. I called them later, they just require me to do more exams and charge me more money with no positive effects. When I was in their office with the doctor, he did not talk much about my cat, he spent a lot time trying persuade me to join the plan. This pet hospital is not ethical, try other pet hospitals in town.

I love this place!!! Oh my gosh today was my first day taking my dog there they were wonderful with her and they just loved on her and she enjoyed getting the peanut butter from them lol she was very shy at first but then open up to the vets they are working slow with her witch I love and not only that they are super sweet to you and your pet and plus the prices are not outrageous at all unlike other vets around here I also didnt have to wait either I got right in and got right out I very well recommend this place for your pet!!!
