Okay , then ! Weiss Memorial Hospital became my Surrogate Mother . I was most asuredly , Re-Born here (Rehtorically Speaking) . This review is about Weiss , the Hospital . I am the luckiest man in the world , to witness its Inner Workings . I dont mean the Boiler Room or the Scullery in the Kitchen . I mean what it takes to put on an ongoing recurrence of Health Initiatives . With , Seminars (Health Professionals , Target Invitees , Logistical Pre-Event Work , Kitchen / Meals & Sandwiches & Snacks w/ Coffee & Sweets) . Oh yes , All the Various Classes , Excercize , Dance , Crafts , Movies , Blood Pressure & Cholesterol Readings . And the coordination of the Senior Center Exclusive Volunteers , plus the other Volunteers / Interns , for other Departments . Cant brush aside those Specialist Drs. & Directors , having a vested interest with any Auditorium Presentation . And finally the Coordination Of Our Farmers Market ! My Boss Lady (Judith Jordan) , Commands a well Organized Fleet of Volunteers , Outside Institutions (Health Faires) . Then she Delegates Us to Join Forces in a Common Cause ! I respect this Woman more than any individual on the PLANET ! Those words still defy logic . In my explanation of how dedicated her work ethic is . In Collaboration with all the Apendigees of an Event ! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ So , the first couple sentences allude to a form of Desperation . I will Creteque : A》 The first day I visited Weiss Memorial Hospital (8/MAY/2011) coincided with my Clean Date (After 27-yrs.) B》 I had car-fare provided by The Chicago Health Department from Pacific Garden Mission C》 I was 4-mos. removed from Provident Hospital for T/B and on a ,12 - pill a day regiment to completely Expunge the last reminants of t/b D》 My Alterior Motive was to enjoy their , insanely Delicious Strong Coffee E》 Not only did I extend my future with the " Joe " , I also Managed to Continue to give back for 5-yrs. , 10-mos. and 15 days ! Weiss Memorial Hospital , was a Caccoon enabling me to forgive myself , gain self-esteem , regain my Physical & Mental Strength . To reinvent myself into the the Man I should and will continue to Become , for the Rest Of My Life !

If I could rate it a zero star I would, my level of service was and has continued to be that terrible. My infant son and I were brought to Weiss via ambulance after a car accident (the vehicle was wrecked so badly by a semi-truck that it was totaled). We waited in the hospital for 3 hours with barely any attention from the attending physician and the medical student staff. My son, who at the time was only 7 months old was never even looked at. He was determined as "ok" because he was moving around. We literally sat in a hospital bed wile people came in and out to ensure they had insurance and credit card information on file, but aside from that were not properly examined for any trauma or problems. No one ever so much as took our blood pressure! Concerned at the lack of attention we received, that sadly cost us thousands of dollars, I brought my son to his pediatrician as a follow up. The Ped did a thorough check up, which should have been done in the hospital, and noticed extensive swelling in his scrotum due to his car seat belt. She sent us to Luries downtown for an urgent ultrasound for a torsion - a serious condition that needs immediate attention. No one in the ER ever even took off his clothes to ensure he was alright, let alone his diaper. He also had brushing on his shoulders and belly so he needed additional imagining to ensure there werent any other injuries - again, no one saw in the ER because no one examined him. I myself have endured treatment from a Chiropractor post accident. The trauma to my neck and back was not examined in the hospital. How is that possible? Now months later, I am trying to obtain copies of our medical records - something so simple. Weiss is so disorganized that the release forms I mailed in for both my son and I have been lost. So I need to send in forms again. Personal information resides on these forms. How do they just get lost? The entire hospital, from record keeping to physicians, seem to be confused about their jobs - and that is to provide patient care. I was at the mercy of my ambulance driver. If you can make the choice for yourself, find another hospital.

I have a chronic condition and have been to many hospitals/doctors across the US. THIS hospital was the WORST experience Ive ever encountered. I went to Weiss to see a very good doctor, who I still appreciate and would possibly see again. However, I was scheduled for surgery (with this doctor) at Weiss hospital. First, upon arrival, they gave me a bill estimate of costs and demanded I pay and set up a payment plan. It was a very large bill. We tried to argue that it didnt seem like the correct amount. They had never spoken to my insurance, they did not know how my planned worked, they just "estimated". I was required to pay. I have never done this for any other hospital I had been to. (PS: when I got the bill, it was over 1000$ LESS than my amount quoted by them). I then went up to outpatient surgery, The nurse was AWFUL. she kept asking me about tests I had not gone through...only to find out she thought I was NOT there for kidney issues (which I was NOT). She would not let my husband in while I waited and was getting set up. She yelled my personal health info across the pre-op waiting area to other nurses and doctors, which is not only unprofessional but against HIPPA. After surgery, I was left alone in recover and was again not allowed to see my husband. They pushed WAY too many pain meds. Dangerous amounts where I was very sick and cannot remember what happened. After 2 hours, I regained a sense of what was going on around me...which they took as I should leave. I insisted I was still very sick and didnt feel comfortable leaving, but they pushed me out the door. They did not prescribe me anti-medics until I called back 30 minutes down the road and was puking profusely. And to make matters worse: The nurse gave me COMPLETELY different discharge instructions than my doctor. Not even in the same ballpark. Luckily, I am a "professional patient" and knew to call my doctor to clarify. I dont care if Im dying, I would never go back to this hospital. Unprofessional, disorganized, and possibly dangerous to those who are new to the medical scene and dont know how a real hospital is supposed to handle their patients.

Terrible place and very bad emergency room. I had a very sharp pain in my ear. I wasnt sure if it was my ear or my head. The pain was very strong so I went to ER. The doctor in ER looked at my ear and said that I have a "Nasty" ear infection. "Nasty ear infection" were his exact words. Wow! Good way to talk to your patients Doc.! He prescribed me pills. However, these pills did NOT help me at all. I have stomach problem. After taking these pills, I start having annoying pain in my stomach and I end up throwing up. However, my ear is still in pain. The very next morning the half of my face was all in pain. I went to my regular Ear doctor. My doctor told me that I should NOT take these pills they gave me in ER. My ear doctor said that the ER doctor misdiagnosed me. I did NOT have an ear infection. Not only they misdiagnosed me, but they gave me the wrong medication that heart my stomach! I am glad I went to my regular doctor and asked for a second opinion. All these doctors who work in ER in Weiss Memorial Hospital can NOT be trusted. By giving the wrong diagnoses, you put your patient at risk! In some cases, it can even cause death ! Weiss Memorial Hospital is a Very BAD hospital ! The ER doctors are Unprofessional. These bad doctors can NOT work with patients!Avoid this bad hospital if you can. These doctors and nurses who work in emergency room can NOT be trusted. They prescribe the wrong medication putting your life at risk. Going to ER in Weiss Memorial Hospital was a waist of time. They did NOT help me! Not at all. The bad doctor from ER prescribed me the wrong medication that did NOT help me with my ear pain. Moreover, these pills heart my stomach very badly. As a patient, I would NOT recommend Weiss Memorial Hospital to everyone. A friendly advise here. Stay away from this bad place if you still wanna live. Be well and make a smart choices in your life!
