This place is full of money hungry crooks. I would give less than a star if I could. Where should I start....... firstly I went there off a recommendation (by the way they will not be going back there either) there was supposed to be a referral credit, never received either but anyways. Granted I had not been to a dentist close to a year as I missed my 6 mo checkup from my previous dentist. So I knew I was overdue for a cleaning.The hygienist made it seem as if I hadnt been to the dentist in years and recommended a 4 part deep cleaning. I was quoted apx $111 for each of those visits for a total of $444(on top of what they billed to my insurance, completing wiping out my annual allowance). So on the first visit the hygienist asks if I would like the laughing gas, I specifically asked is that extra. I was told no it was not. Will get back to that point later. Fast forward to right before my third visit, a bill for an additional $216 arrives in my mail. Assuming it was for the next two visits I pay it. When I get to the third visit the receptionist wants to charge me the $111 again. I bring up the bill I paid online. Instead of resolving the issue then and there she just passes the buck to the next person. She advised me to not pay anything now and the billing will get straighten out. I go in for the forth and final visit (still in pain from the third visit a week prior) and the doctor that came to look at my gums that were inflamed still from the prior visit said "oh, im not worried about it so you shouldnt." We continue to the cleaning and when done, this receptionist tries to charge me the entire amount for last two visits. I bring up the billing discrepancy. We go back and forth a few times then she tells me that the financial advisory that gave me the quote was wrong, also the hygienist that told me the laughing gas wasnt extra was also wrong. (see a trend here?) The gas was $57 a visit. She reluctantly states that she would remove the charges for the laughing gas. So here is the break down of the quote for this "needed deep cleaning" that was supposed to be apx $444 I paid $111 twice (first two visits) $216 online and another $170 on the last visit (and last time I will go there) for a total of $612 after the supposed credit for the laughing gas. Which by her numbers equaled a $228 credit. If I had said nothing I would have been billed $840 for a $444 quote (on top of my insurance). These are CROOKS and this should be CRIMINAL! WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!

Most people wouldnt describe a dental visit as wonderful but Im going to go ahead and do so. I have been experiencing some major dental issues for just over a year now. The previous dental office I visited didnt address any of my concerns or questions about treatment or the tremendous pain I was having. I found Shorewood Family Dental through Google and was skeptical not knowing if they were posted by real clients or not but I went ahead and took a chance. Im so very glad I did. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, the hygienists that Ive seen have been so caring and gentle and Dr. Funk....well he is such a kind and very present man. He listens, explains and answers questions no matter how many I asked or how trivial they may have been. He makes sitting in that chair with your mouth hanging open a less humiliating and painful experience. Dr. Funks treatment coordinator Cathy is so easy to work with, She is also very kind and gets you in there and going with so much ease. I am so glad I trusted the reviews and have already told all of my friends and family about this practice. If you have had bad previous experiences that had you throwing your hands up in surrender, give it one more try and make the appointment. You will not regret it.

I visited this place for a cleaning few months ago, which was actually a good visit the lady cleaning my teeth was very nice. The front desk staff not so much, upon checking out the front desk lady went on pricing for cavitys i needed filled. I told her Id have to call and make appt, she insited it would just be better to make appt I said no she asked again are you sure yet again I said no. Not sure if it was the same lady or not but 2 weeks later they called me 3 times in a week to make apt. I kept telling them I wasnt sure. Finally on the last call I told them I could possibliy do a sat apt, but wasnt 100% sure. The lady on the phone said oh thats fine. Will call you to confirm the apt anyway. The next 5 days I worked 7-6pm each day. SO , i was unable to confirm my apt which would mean I wasnt able to make. which the lady insured me it would be fine. They since then stopped calling me and charged me for a missed apt after telling me it was ok, nor did anyone in the office inform me of any missed apt fee.

Shorewood Family Dental is an amazing practice. It is never fun to go to the dentist, however their team goes out of the way to make the patient feel at ease. From the moment you walk through their doors you are calm. I cannot say enough kind words about the staff. Everyone treats you as you are the most important person during your care. Dr. Gina Buck, Dr. Robert Funk both are exceptional at their craft. They have never recommended anything in order to make money. Every treatment I have had in the 20 years my family has been going is diagnosed quickly and accurately. I now reside in Deerfield Illinois and still commute to their office for my cleanings and all of my dental care.

I give 5 stars because theyre isnt a 10-star option. EVERY staff member is super courteous, patient, and understanding of my familys needs and ability to do them. Emily and Dr. Bruck are two of the sweetest, most kind-hearted people I know and I absolutely LOVE seeing them!! We have seen other hygienists and doctors and they have all been wonderful too! My family ranges in age from 3-34 and SFDs level of competency, patience, and overall level of care is just phenomenal to all of us! I really could brag on them all day (and do to anyone asking for a referral)!! They are not even in my network but I wont go anywhere else. They are simply the best!!

My family and I has been going to Shorewood Family Dental for over 15 years, today was my last visit, retiring and moving away. I know I will never be able to replace Meredith my hygienist who is the best in her field, she is painless, perfectionists and has such great personality always checking to make sure you comfortable. Dr Funk and Dr Henry are tops in their field true professionals I would recommend Shorewood Family Dental to anyone 5 stars to the entire staff from the time they check you in to you check out with a fresh flower.
