I found Dr. Helton and Dentistry on 116th through my dental insurances DenteMax network. Id driven by every morning on my way to work. The office looked nice and new. It was convenient. And then I walked in. I was immediately impressed by two things--the quality of the facilities and equipment and the friendly professionalism of the team. First, about that team. Everyone is very, very friendly. That certainly helps to build good energy around an unpleasant procedure. Theyre also very professional. They took time to educate me about what was going on, utilizing state-of-the-art technology. Within minutes, I was actually looking at X-Rays on a Samsung monitor suspended above my dental chair... where they showed me the infected tooth root that was causing my discomfort. Leading the team is perhaps the kindest, most gentle person youd ever want digging around in your mouth... Dr. Helton. She has an impeccable bedside manner. Whereas other dentists Ive had are very distant and clinical--probing around in my head like theyre boning a fish--its not that way in Dr. Heltons operation. She was very attentive and conscious of my discomfort. She narrates what shes doing, so nothing surprising happens. She and her assistant frequently ask how things are going. Shes the frosting on the cake (not that we good dental patients should eat sugar!) that truly makes her operation first-rate. Her facility is also top-notch. Dr. Helton surely took dental phobias and patient psychology into her site selection. The office is expansive and comfortable. Deep, rich wood textures and bright, inviting color tones are aesthetically soothing. The office--and the dental pods wherein patients are seen--overlook trees and greenery from the second floor location. And within each patient bay is the latest in dental technology. Everything is updated and new. The equipment is a consistent, pristine white... right down to those Samsung TV monitors that hang overhead. To entertain me and keep me focused on something else, I got to watch the History Channel and the Today Show! Lastly, the staff is complemented in their efforts by the latest technology. The office stores all X-Ray images electronically and they can be brought up on that same monitor, for consultation. They also have consultation rooms where they took me to go over my options for root canals, to cover anticipated out of pocket expense of the process, etc. And everyone on the team wears small headsets which help them stay in communication with each other and Dr. Helton. If youve ever heard health care workers hollering at each other with questions down a hallway about your body and procedures--you know what Im talking about when I say peace, discretion and decorum have their place in health care. Being connected by headsets not only aides efficiency, it helps maintain the serenity the facility creates. My point: if youve ever had a bad dental experience, you deserve to see the other end of the spectrum. And it can be found with Dr. Helton and Dentistry on 116th. Since my company is in the DenteMax network, I refer everyone I know to Dr. Helton. Ive been manhandled before... and want everyone to know thats not how it has to be! Theres a truly exceptional alternative out there--and they get it right in every possible category @ Dentistry on 116th.

Had a great first experience at this office. The staff is really on the ball and they genuinely appear to be out to improve peoples oral health. I mean to say they treat it more than just a job. Everything is really state-of-the-art. Flat panel monitors at each dental chair allow you to watch TV while they work on you, plus the monitor provides an easy way for the Dentist and Hygienists to show x-rays and pictures to you during the exam. A number of tests are run, such as oral cancer, and some laser thing that I guess is a new way of scanning for cavities in hard to reach spots. They even included a free whitening with the cleaning and exam. Dr. Helton is young and enthusiastic, which is a breath of fresh air from the typical dentists Ive been to in the past who seem jaded and detached from their profession. Theyve definitely altered my typical perception of a dentist. My only complaint would be that the mouth x-rays used a larger bite-wing than Im used to. It was pretty uncomfortable, more than the typical little cardboard ones, which are uncomfortable in themselves...

I strongly recommend Dentistry on 116! Dr. Helton and all the staff are wonderful! The staff, atmosphere, and environment makes your experience very relaxing and comfortable. I love the decor as you walk into the front of the office where you will be greated by Julie, the office coordinator. Always friendly and greets you with a smile every time. The waiting room is very comfortable with big leather couches and a huge flat screen television. Your dental assistant will show you to your personal lounger (I call it that because the dental chair is so comfortable) and it feels very private even though you know that other clients are there. Your dental assistant will ask you what channel or show you would like to watch while they are caring for you. Dr. Helton is always friendly and professional. She cares about your dental health! I have told all my friends and family members, and even strangers, to go to Dentistry on 116 for all their dental needs!

I recently visited this practice after we relocated to Carmel from Indy. I wanted a place closer to home. I can tell you that this practice is so client-oriented and warm! Everyone strives to make your experience as pleasant as it can be from the moment you call or step in the office. I even got a phone call from Dr. Helton the night before welcoming me to the practice. Everyone was friendly, explained all procedures, was proactive with calling insurance, was up front about extra procedures available and at what cost. The office is clean and is convenient with good parking. Everyone is online. I also had a cracked crown and they were able to schedule me the very next day for a 2.5 hour appointment to remove the cracked crown and make and fit my new crown that same day. No temporary needed. Awesome! I will be back and letting others know about this practice.

After being a client of this business for over a year and having cleanings as well as other services completed - they pulled a quick one. They increased their rates almost 40% without informing their client base. When I questioned the bill they simply said - "sorry, its not our standard procedure to notify current customers if a rate change happens". That left me in complete SHOCK. Thats a easy way to loose customers and gain a bad reputation. I would think when you schedule a cleaning they would at that time inform any clients new or old of rate changes that have happened. Go to a dentist who actually cares about clients, not Dentistry on 116th.

I have been with Dr.Helton and her team for the past 3 years and I am so glad my wife found Dentistry on 116. The entire office is staffed with professionals that are very knowledgable and skilled, and they all have great attitudes! Dr.Helton takes time with you, discussing your dental needs and explaining the best approach to achieving optimal dental health. Dr.Helton and her assistant, Anita, work incredibly well together, always with professional and respectful communication. They take extra measures to help make the experience as easy for the patient as possible. They truly are the best at what they do!
