I had a wonderful experience today at Franklin Family Dentistry. For the past few years, I have not had the greatest time at any dentist that I have visited. Today, July 10, 2015, was different. From the time I entered the office to the time I left, I felt that I was important to them. Everyone was very nice and easy to talk with and I was kept informed about the procedures. I know I have a small month and it was more difficult for the x-ray tech to make sure she got the correct angles for the pictures of my teeth. She was very kind and made sure that I was not getting hurt by the apparatus that had to be used for the x-rays. Even though it was uncomfortable, the procedure was bearable because the x-ray tech cared about how I felt. I was very pleased to find out that it was the dentist, herself, that was going to do the cleaning of my teeth. I have always thought that the dentist should do this part of the exam, but over the last few years, my past experience has been, not the dentist, but the hygienist that have cleaned my teeth. I was so pleased that the dentist did this procedure. All in all, Franklin Family Dentistry gets an A plus. Instead of dreading the care of my teeth, I now look forward to a much better time with a dentist and office staff that really care about me. Thank you again, Nadine McCracken On July16, I went back for a consultation for the work that needs to be done for 3 cavities. Dr. Thompson explained all to me about the work that needs to be done . My husband was in the room also, when the doctor was explaining all to me. We went over the range of prices for the different procedure choices with Dr. Thompson. We explained about us being on Social Security only, and how we would need to make low monthly payments. The doctor said she would have the office manager come in to talk with us about payment plans. The office manager came in (I think her name was Pam) and proceeded to tell us that there was only certain ways that the payments could be made. We did explain fully about us being on S.S. and how much we could pay each month. She said no. I tried to explain that we need to have lower monthly payments. She still said no. I got up and walked out. I could not deal with another rejection . This is why I went to this dentist. BECAUSE, I thought they would be different and really care for the patient. Refer back to my first written review--- I gave a five star. I still give a five star for the work that was done and the friendliness of the technicians, the doctor, and the front office. BUT I give NO STARS for their compassion . What is wrong with me paying my bill over a longer period of time? I will pay my bill!!!!! It will just take a little longer than they (Pam/office manager) will allow. WHY, WHY, do they not have the compassion and understanding ---some people just cant come up with large amounts of money at one time. Why, why, wont they do the work that needs to done to my teeth and let me pay in smaller monthly payments???? Sincerely, Nadine McCracken

Today was my new patient appointment. I was very anxious, as it had been about 10 years since my last dentist appointment. All the staff were friendly, helpful and patient with me during my entire check-in and appointment processes. I especially want to thank Stephanie, Dr. Shattucks’s Dental Assistant as she immediately set my mind at ease with her manner and personality, which had a nice calming effect on me. She has an excellent “chair-side” manner. She is friendly, gentle, very respectful and informative. She is a sweet lady and very personable and competent. Great job Stephanie. Dr. Shattuck was a real treat. She was very informative also, gentle with the exam like no other exam I have ever had. Usually, the dentist or assistant is so rough I thought they would gouge out my teeth or pop off a crown or filling. This IS NOT the case at Franklin Family Dentistry. Dr. Shattuck is very personable, professional, informative and very very thorough in her exam and during the following consult. I have never had a dentist’s office like this one. I have found a dental home! Great job Dr. Shattuck, and also to Susan and Jess. So helpful and friendly. They all inspired an honest caring attitude, friendly and professional atmosphere. In addition, when I left I had a printed document showing my care plan with costs. No surprises here. Thank you all for a delightful first appointment.

Going to this dentist was the worst experience of my life. I am 22 and was told I have gum disease, multiple cavities, need all new fillings, a crown, and more. Of course they were eager to schedule an appointment to fix all of these things including a under the gum cleaning which in total would be thousands of dollars... not exactly in a college students budget. They were insanely rude and were so rough my bib ended up covered in blood after they "cleaned" my teeth. Led me to believe one of my teeth was so bad it would literally crumble the next time I ate hard food so I left crying. Got a second opinion who let me see my xrays and told me I had great teeth! Nine months later and still no pain, no discoloration, and no problems. Second dentist also commented on how they did not even do a complete job when cleaning my teeth. STAY AWAY!

First appointment and I have nothing but compliments! Front desk staff was helpful And courteous in getting me all set as a new patient. Colleen was especially friendly and took her time getting all my x-rays done and complete. My hygienist was super friendly and answered all my questions. Cleaning was efficient and painless. Finally the doctor was very friendly and shook my hand. She made sure all my questions were answered and when I asked about whitening she actually suggested I didnt even though that meant losing money on me not having the procedure done! All and all a wonderful experience and so glad I chose Franklin family dentistry!

They are really nice and gentle there! They are very careful when cleaning. I had a cavity filled and they showed it to me on a computer monitor using a camera that they put in my mouth in real time -- it was cool! When they numbed me up it barely hurt and I havent had any issues since. Also, they dont try to upsell you and tell you that you need stuff done that you dont (except a little the first time I went they told me they needed to use some high-tech ultra-sonic cleaner for $40 but when I refused she said I really needed it so she did it anyway and comped the fee). I recommend them!

I dont know anyone that truly likes to go to the dentist, but FFD makes, what is usually an unpleasant experience, comfortable and easy. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I like the TVs with the rotating images. Very relaxing. I would drink the coffee in the waiting room, but I dont want to walk in their with coffee breath. Maybe I should take a cup with me on the way out.
