I have called several dental offices because I have a broken tooth, I am on a fixed income and dont have dental insurance. The person who answered the phone told me I didnt need an appointment - just to come in since it was an emergency. I chose Aspen because it was close to my home and the web-site prices. I went in and the girl at the front desk told me I needed an appointment to be a new patient and needed an exam and x-rays. Because I was a new patient, that was free. I made an appointment for 7 days later - no open appointments for emergencies. My tooth was broken where the nerve was exposed. I went back for the appointment. The person at the front desk and the xray technician was very nice and professional. I have had many medical problems for the last eight years and have neglected my teeth for the last three. The dental hygienist was very rude and short. I was getting emotional because of the pain and that I was embarrassed about the neglect. She didnt make me feel comfortable at all. She said something about neglecting my teeth without knowing anything about my life. So judgmental. The dentist came in and he was the same as the hygienist. You have to feel comfortable about the professionals that are working on you. I have had many procedures and dealt with many healthcare providers. I didnt want him to work on my mouth. He was very cocky and really didnt seem to be interested in helping me. I thought that medical professionals took an oath. I then went in and spoke to the office manager and she was so nice and very empathetic. I was in full blown crying spell. She told me my treatment for 4 fillings, cleaning and one extraction would be $2,726.00. I asked about the prices on the web-site and she said those prices were for simple extractions and cleaning. The dentist stated that I had bone loss and periodontal disease. To clean my teeth it would be $1,100. I went to a local dentist that has been in business for over 40 years. He extracted my tooth and gave me xrays for $ 125.00. I made an appointment for the four fillings and cleaning for a total of $ 510.00. So I saved $2,091.00 and love my new dentist. He is so caring and concerned. Even gave me his home phone number if I had a problem after the tooth extraction. Poor people continue to get ripped off. I will never recommend Aspen Dental Southport Indiana to anyone.

Like others have noted, this is a racket. Its a pure money-making scheme and youre FAR better off going right down the street to Franklin and Southport to Shorey Dental. I went in for slight tooth pain. Aspen said I needed two fillings on teeth that werent even the tooth in question. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to treatment but when going over the treatment plan with the office manager, I noticed an "Oral-B" charge for $125. I inquired about it and after slight prodding was informed it was an ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH. I asked why I needed that and she just said "well we recommend it for all our patients." I have an electric toothbrush so I asked if it could be removed. She again stated its recommended for all patients. It was right then I knew this was a swindling atmosphere and not something I wanted to be a part of. Whats also troubling is they make you pre-pay for your ENTIRE treatment plan before you have anything done. When I asked why this was, the business manager told me thats so they dont have people schedule their appointments then not show up. After having the most expensive toothbrush in the world pushed on me, I can understand why. AVOID. LIKE. THE. PLAGUE. Update: Now that Ive gone to Shorey Dental to have work done Aspen is refusing to release my records so Ill likely have to have all my x-rays redone. Thats awesome. Thanks, Aspen.

I had gone to one dentist before choosing Aspen Dental. My previous Dentist had told me I needed all of my upper and lower teeth removed, he had refused to take impressions of my teeth and had refused to show me a denture I was outraged. I contacted Aspen dental and they got me in the very next day. I was greeted kindly and was shown a lot of tender care. I found all of my bottom teeth are savable with fillings ( What a relief!) I got to pick a denture perfect to me and the entire process was broken down and easy to understand. The hygienist was very gentle with me and was kind and helped answer every question I had. Most impressive was that they took my blood pressure * which was very high * And refused to do any work out of being worried I would not handle it well. I am very pleased my next appointment will be getting my impressions made the final appointment will be removals and having my denture placed. Thank you Aspen Dental for getting me on track for a beautiful and healthy smile again,

The health care function is great, ranging from the dentist, to the dental hygienist and dental assistant. They were thorough and made great recommendations. The office management, however, is a different story. They were friendly, no doubt, but the practices of this office are much different than others Ive used. Specifically when it comes to insurance they take a co-pay even when your insruance says "no co-pay, 100% covered" Their explanation is that your insurance company may or may not pay the full bill. If anyone has worked in health care or billing knows his is how insurance plays out. They pay the services at the rate they believe it should be, but Ive never seen a company make the patient pay a co-pay when it specifically says none. It comes off as unethical but they do not see it this way. Other than insurance instances, this place provides good care. However, it would not be my preferred place for dental care.

The staff at this Aspen Dental on Southport was very friendly and professional as I had changed location from the US 31 office because of rude office management. The hygienist and the dentist Dr. Rachana Waghela were both sweet ladies that showed concern because of my anxiety. They both thoroughly explained the treatment I needed and was willing to answer all of my questions. The office manager put me at ease also. We went over my treatment plan and together we prioritized my treatment working within my budget. I sincerely appreciated their patience with me. I found a dental office that Im now comfortable with and plan to definitely continue my treatment plan at this location. I walked out feeling no stress about my dental care!! :) Thanks ladies, keep up the great work. You all make a great team!!! Will definitely be giving many personal recommendations!!!

I really liked how the staff treated me the 1st day, but the 2nd time I came in they seemed to be a little different...It was a money thing I believe. They schedule me to come in earlier for a part of my continued treatment and the person that takes the money was unaware and jumped all over me about signs posted everywhere and money due for the treatment. I told her hold on the money isnt a issue my appt was 2 weeks later and I will paid before then. She understood the mix up but I felt very embarrassed when she started talking about the signs everywhere.. smh..like I was trying to sneak something over on them. No apology she just said okay thatll work. Im feeling some type of way now. But everything else was gr8...
