I found this place about as honest as a used car lot. The tactics they used to increase their add-on sales were shameful in my opinion. We had vision insurance that covers moderately priced frames and the exam. We left the place shelling out $175 out of pocket! First was the upcharge for the retina exam that uses a technology that doesnt require getting drops. I warned my son (college age, I was with him) that they would try to get him to do this and that it was not necessary. Low and behold, he came out of the exam room stating that they had given him the more expensive procedure. When I asked the person taking our payment how this had happened, letting her know that we were never asked, she stated that "everyone gets it, if not wed have to dilate your eyes." I said we would have been fine with that, but were never given the option. She said "Well, you signed for it here," She pointed to a place on the personal information sheet that my son had to fill out. There was a paragraph about it and you had to "Opt out" of the procedure. At no time did any associate or doctor tell us that we might want to read that carefully, because it will result in a higher charge and your insurance will not cover it. They just knew, that like us, everyone just signs what they are handed at the doctors office. They just "assumed" we wanted this type of coating and that type of poly-carbonate lens. Never did anyone start at the basic price and then let us know what the add-ons would cost. A "smooth" talking woman kept coming by where we were meeting with another associate and looked at my sons old glasses and told the associate what to add on our lenses. She actually tried this: "Do you want the premium low glare lenses? They cost more and wont be here for weeks. Or, do you want the regular low glare lenses that we can have here tomorrow." Of course my son says, "The regular ones" And there she had done it. Gave only the choice for the up charge or the super-duper up charge, My son didnt need, nor did I want to pay for low-glare lenses, but since she had pulled that well-rehearsed maneuver, I could not then inform my son that dad was not going to pay for the low-glare frames. The smooth talking woman who was there to make sure we paid more, left the poor associate helping us sitting there not knowing what to do. Three times we were asked if we were using insurance and three times we told them yes and the name. Here is another nice used car gimmick. They took our payment for the exam first, (Remember the exam should have been free) Then they accepted payment for the glasses a few minutes later. I immediately assumed that they did this to lessen the blow of not seeing both charges at once. I guess it is possible that they needed to do this for some other reason, though. So, to recap, we did choose very moderately priced frames and left paying $175 out of pocket. This place just found a way to get paid on top of what the insurance covers. I have no problem with them "offering" other services. I do have a problem with them sneaking the charges in here and there, never letting anyone know what the charges are until you are blind-sided with the final bill.

This location, Hamilton Town Center in Noblesville, has horrible customer service. I have been in twice, each time swearing Id never go back, but its convenient to where I live. The first time I went, the sales lady was rushing my son to pick his glasses so she could go home. She was very rude that it took a while to make a decision. I ended up just leaving. The second time was for a contact fitting for myself. At first, the girl helping me was nice, but she quickly got rude and impatient when I couldnt get the contact in my eye. Through observation, if you aren't spending a ton of money, they want nothing to do with you. I have been a loyal Lenscrcrafters customer for 7 years and spend a lot of money for my sons glasses every year. I am thinking twice about buying anything from them in the future.

My family and I have been coming here for a few years. Each year we come and get our exams and new frames and lenses. Three years ago it cost $20 per person. Last year it cost $40 per person. This year it cost $115 per person. I have eye insurance that is owned by luxotica the company that owns most of the brand name eye glass stores in the united States. So I would of thought that my cost would be better but it seems that every year my out of pocket doubles or more. So I am done with dealing with luxotica sites and will be taking my business and letting everyone I know about the insane inflation of prices.

I agree with other comments about add-on sales. I was trying to buy contacts and they would not let me re-order my contacts that they issued me less than a year ago unless I paid to have a "contact fitting". Then when I tried to schedule a contact fitting they told me they wouldnt schedule a contact fitting unless I had an eye exam within the past 90 days. I get my eye exams at the VA. The last time I ordered contacts the eye exam was good for 1 year. I cant believe they changed their policies so much just to try and screw you out of more money. Let alone a veteran.

I have been going to LensCrafters for 4 years. This was the worst appointment I have had. The doctor didnt tell me anything about my eyes ( if they have changed or stay the same). I also had a contact exam and they have always gave me a pair of two of contacts to take home. I got nothing. My daughter had a appointment right after and they same thing but she did get one pair of contacts but not the right prestiption for one of her eyes. Will try going else where

Great place for an eye exam but that is it. Avoid all of their other services. Lenses scratch easily, nose pieces fall off, bifocal lines were not positioned correctly, and the frame broke within months. First time in forty years of wearing glasses that any of these things have happened due to normal use. Dont purchase the warranties just go to Costco or an independent facility.

Dr. Walden is very nice. They need to hire more people in the front though. There was only 2 people working and I waited 15 min just to pay.
