I, like many people do not enjoy the dentist. I had a bad dentist growing up (he was later arrested even) and the dentist I had in town moved several years ago and I havent gone back since. I decided it was time to go and found Altoona Dental just through searches and my previous dentist. This was, by far, the best experience I have ever had with a dentist. I have been smiling since I left an hour ago. Lacey cleaned my teeth for me which is usually what I hate most bc it hurts, its rough, its just unpleasant but it was not in the least bit uncomfortable at all!!! And I had 3yrs worth of ick built up I am sure. Dr. Hlas came and introduced himself as soon as I got back there which was nice and Lacey told me step by step what we were going to do. She was very pleasant and my mouth doesnt ache at all. I was totally expecting some judgement too for being one of those that goes years without a dentist but I didnt feel any of that. Dr. Hlas even helped me with some suggestions for some cosmetic work that I was interested in for areas of my teeth and was upfront with me about what it would entail and cost. Went right ahead and scheduled my 6 month check up while I was there!!! I am so pleased with this whole experience and would highly recommend them to anyone!!!

I have been a patient with Drs. Shirazi and Hlas for almost 8 years. I recently had alot of crown work done on my upper teeth and am currently getting lower plate work done as well. Dr. Shirazi did an excellent job on my upper crowns. She was detailed and very specific in all the information that was communicated to their lab. She was meticulous on getting the color, placement, alignment and bite structure set up for me that was perfect and natural looking. I get compliments on a regular basis on how bright my smile is. One girlfriend even mentioned that I had soap opera star teeth! My lower plate work has been a long process, because of getting implants done first. Dr. Hlas and I are nearing completion on things, and I am happy so far with the results. He has always responded promptly to my texts and phone calls when I have questions. Front office staff (Jodi and Jenny) and all the dental hygienists have always been friendly and helpful too. I am very happy with my dental care, and I would highly recommend Altoona Dental Clinic to anyone that asks.

Ive been going to Dr. Hlas & Dr. Shirazi for ten years now and have been extremely happy with the dental work they have done on me and my family. Dr. Shirazi did a beautiful job on the four front teeth bridge I had done. I was losing bone and my teeth had shifted and it was time to do something about them. I was self conscience about my smile and I was afraid those teeth were just going to get worse. I get so many compliments on my smile now and everyone comments how natural the bridge looks. Very happy with the work done and wouldnt hesitate to go back for any other work I made need done.

Great friendly dental place! They were able to get me in early the same day I called about a horrible toothache. Found out I needed a root canal and was able to get it scheduled the same week. I called and asked if they could get me in sooner if anything opens up and they got me in the next day! During the root canal procedure Dr. Chris Hlas explained each step he was doing so I knew what was happening. So thankful for them I can finally get some sleep!

Cleaning is quick, and the staff is always friendly even though I am almost always late.I am still unhappy with the crown upper back molar. Since it constantly catches every kind of food, I am just miserable with the sore gum around it. I still think the crown is crooked and am NOT AT ALL HAPPY THE WAY THIS HAS TURNED OUT!

Excellent dental care! Both dentists are kind, considerate always making sure the patient has all their questions answered before proceeding. They tell you what they are going to do, before they do it and the patients comfort is always their priority. Staff are cheerful, friendly and courteous. Great Experience!
