I understand that this is a free, volunteer run clinic. That being said I was less than thrilled with my care. Processing and paperwork were done within 45 minutes and I thought the wait was relatively short until I realised I had to wait another 1.5 hours to see a doctor. I listened as some of the volunteers worried about not being able to have everyone seen and discussed sending people away if they werent sick enough or to skip some people in line to make things go faster. They had these discussions in front of the waiting patients! I was placed into a room and when the doctor came in she looked at my paperwork, looked at my ear and throat, asked what I was allergic to and told me I could have walking pneumonia. My entire interaction with the doctor lasted maybe 45 seconds. She never gave me her name but emphasized she wanted to get through as many patients before noon. For waiting 2+ hours to be treated that way is unacceptable. Again I understand it being free health care but I didnt need to be there I wouldnt have been. I will not return to Community Health nor will I recommend them.

Thank you for anyone who volunteers here. Thank you for providing your time and effort on helping those who are less fortunate. Words can not express my gratitude for Iowa having such a place. I understand people may be upset over the wait times and etc. Of course they only see the people who are extremely sick and or have a dental issue, they have to gauge what is going on with each person to figure out how best to proceed. Remember you are getting this service for completely free. Huge thanks to any and all workers here. Youve helped many people and i hope you know that there are those who appreciate you beyond belief !

The first time I have ever seen fear in a doctors eyes was here. They put me on improper antibiotics for my problem, then sent me to a dentist at gentle dental who didnt take the time to properly diagnose my problem and in turn prescribed the wrong prescriptions as well as an appointment to remove the infected teeth. I went to bed that night and awoke unable to breathe through my mouth and spent 12 days in the hospital went through 2 medically induced comas, operations, and intensive Care units because of their misdiagnosis.
