Ive been going to this vet for about 4-5 years now, for my 2 cats that I have. If for normal, planned, requests this vet is outstanding. They dont charge a horrible amount of money for their services, and are good with reminders. This breaks down a bit in unusual requests. An example was when my cat was peeing blood..I was worried about it, and getting me in early was something that took a lot of talking to actually get done. They were willing to let the cat go multiple more days with this condition than trying to see me a bit earlier. In the end that worked out. Another time, I found a very sick raccoon near my home and did my best to take care of it - my goal was to ask the vet for a 2 minute look just to see if the animal *might* get over this or what I should do. Compassion wasnt a word Id use for her reaction to my request - which in short was "no". As long as you have more standard requests, and dont ask too much of the vet, this vet is good. Again, though, Id say compassion as more a random compassion for more unordinary requests is not there. I was tempted to rate even lower on this, but they have done a lot of good too in the past.

So very disappointed in this clinic. Had been taking our puppy here for care since we brought him home and had never had any issues. One day we brought him in after a week of diarrhea and thinking he may have scratched his eye. During the appointment our puppy was muzzled so Dr. Shields could check his eye while the vet tech held his neck and head. Without noticing that they were suffocating him, he suddenly lost consciousness and fell limp on the table. Long story short, our puppy was suffocated and due to his unconscious state, ended up with fluid on his lungs. He spent the next few hours in the pet emergency hospital trying to stabilize oxygen levels. Not one time did we hear an "Im sorry" or an offer to pay the ER bill. Only after I went back to talk to them did they agree to pay part of the ER bill. Ended up paying them over $100 to suffocate my puppy and leave him with fluid on his lungs, all without remorse or a simple "sorry for almost killing your dog".

My cat has a rare special disorder that needs around the clock medication. I moved here shortly after her diagnosis and Dr. Shannon quickly became our saving grace. Shes treated so well and since weve been under Dr. Shannons excellent care we are without episode for over a year now! I wont go anywhere else as she is the only one to yield results with our problem. Prices are so affordable. The only qualms I have is the interior needs a full remodel/upgrade. However, if that were in their interests I am certain they would no longer be so affordable.

Dr. Shannon and her team have always been WONDERFUL to our fur babies. We live in Cedar Rapids and just have never found anyone as awesome as this place! The prices are great and better than most vets. You are always made to feel very welcome as soon as you walk through the door. It is not a super fast vet visit because they dont over look anything. I feel that we have been very spoiled to have such a wonderful Animal Doctor!

Theyve done a great job with my cat and seem to have reasonable prices compared to other vets in the area. If youre worried about saving a wild racoon, dont be harsh. I believe a veterinarian can actually get into trouble for treating animals that cannot be legally kept as pets, not to mention the safety issues involved for the staff.

Ive had my dog for a year. Ive had pets and vets prior and so far this place is the best. They are a block or two from my home. They always remember my dog and do follow up calls and reminders which Ive never had before. My dog enjoys all the nurses and vets there. She leaves happy. Which makes me happy.

Animal Kingdom in North Liberty is my primary veterinarian but when they were unable to fit me in for an emergency, NLPC stepped up. I had no problems and I thought they were great. Would definitely recommend.

Love this clinic! The staff is super friendly and always helpful. I usually go to Eastside but the couple of times I have been in this office the staff has been nothing short of wonderful.

Do not go here...They are rude and have no compassion for your pet. $800 later my dog is dead.
