Switched from oaks clinic and Had been taking my dog leo here for a couple months. Thought it was an ok place at first until this weekend. Online they have their hours saying open till 1 pm on Saturdays. I had an emergency with my puppy, and he was bleeding pretty badly due to breaking glass. It was 12:30, and we rushed him there since it was his vet, and also the closest to us. When my mom got there they REFUSED to see him, when you could clearly see his arms bleeding through the wraps we put on the cuts. They said "sorry theres nothing we can do our technicians and doctors are getting ready to leave" EXCUSE ME?? GETTING READY TOO? You are a VETERINARY! and you dont close for another 30 mins! I dont give a crap if you were only open for 10 more minutes! It shows how much they TRULY care about animals. I had heard negative things about my friends whove taken there pets here before, but decided to give them a chance. NEVER will i EVER take my dog here again. Rude staff, and not friendly. They need to rethink their jobs. We even asked if they could just give him a look and help us wrap his arms until we could get him to the vet in urbandale. Or to give us an E collar. And they refused to do anything.

We have brought our two dogs here for the past year, after moving into the area. By far the best prices in the area on vaccines and exams. I have seen Dr. Kaiser, and another female doctor, and they along with staff have always been very pleasant, caring and helpful. One of our dogs, suffers from anxiety and is prone to nervous biting, and the staff (due to my heeding) is always very cautious to stay away from his face, but still show him love and affection. Our other dog, Sandy, hurt his leg, and the staff kindly helped me carry him back to my car after his visit. They do however, keep cats in the lobby generally, and I have one dog in particular that is a hound, and attacks cats, so I have to make sure to call prior to my appointment and ask that the cats be moved prior to us coming in-- staff is always helpful and makes sure to move the cats to another room while we are in the lobby.

We have always taken our pets to Brodericks for many years. We have a little Yorkie who has been declining in health for some time. We saw a number of doctors in the office over the last couple of years and we had brought up her worsening condition. Her condition was always blamed on her age and possibly arthritis. Recently she has seemed much worse so we decided to get a second opinion. After examining her and listening to her symptoms she was immediately diagnosed with a degenerative disease unique to her breed and has been in a lot of pain for a long time. We were so sad to think that we had let her suffer for so long. I dont know if Brodericks have gotten too busy to take enough time with their patients but we have taken all of our pets elsewhere for care after this incidence.

Dr. John is the best. He doesnt give up on any animal. Recently one of my cats was very ill to the point we werent sure if she was going to make it. He tried everything in his knowledge and bag of tricks to make sure this cat had every opportunity to live. You can tell he loves animals, he is compassionate and understands what pet owners are going through. He saw the emotion and, quite frankly, the devastation on my familys faces when we were saying good bye. The procedure Dr. John did saved my cats life, literally. She was at deaths door 1 day and came home the next. She is getting better and better every day. I will always be grateful to Dr. John and his staff for taking such good care of my baby.

Dr. John and his staff are the best!! They have taken care of all my animals since the practice was open in early 90s. When my babes have gone in for regular check-ups they all are so good about keeping things calm so my dogs dont get scared. When my dogs were at a point of being put down there was the compassion and consideration I needed. When it was time to add another dog into our family Dr. John was terrific about helping me pick one for the perfect fit. Now one of my guys is in for surgery and I am so confident of the care he will be given. Thank you for the comfort you give to your clients families. You all truly are the best.

Weve been going to Broderick since the late 90s, and theyre amazing. They truly love animals and still have the "small town feel." We had to put down our first dog due to cancer, and Dr. John was so compassionate and caring during the event, and they sent us a sympathy card after. We dont use their grooming service only b/c its too hard to get in to (good problem to have). The only reason Im not giving a 5-star rating is the front desk staff can be a bit unprofessional and "short" at times, but overall its a great vet to go to.

I just called the animal clinic because I found a baby duck last night and took it home to keep it alive. I called to see if the clinic could take the baby duck or had any ideas on what I could do with him. I was hung up on the first time I called and the second woman that answered when I called back was just as rude. Dont go there. If they are rude to people I am sure they are rude to animals!!!

This used to be a 5 star for me and my family who have been coming to the clinic for years, but because of Dr. Beth Kaiser, we have decided to look else where. She is as fake as the first HEEELLLOO that comes out of her mouth when she enters a room. She only cares about finding a quick fix to the problems we bring, instead of going the extra mile that Dr. John Broderick has always done of me.

Dr Nelson helped my puppy & I today. She was very kind and answered all my questions. She referred us to a specialist and we needed to follow up with her during that appointment. It was easy to reach her by phone and she communicated well with the other clinic to come up with a treatment plan on my puppy. Im very happy with our experience today and I know my pup will be better soon.

Our family has taken 3 pets to this clinic since 1997. They know us by name and know our pets by name. When we finally had to put one of our beloved cats down, they walked me through the process, allowed me to be there to pet him as he fell asleep, took care of the remains, and later sent us a sympathy card. They have always been sweet and professional with our family and our pets.

The veterinary staff here is wonderful; patient, gentle and thorough with our dogs and clear, honest and sympathetic with us. We tremendously appreciated Dr. Brodericks patience, honesty and kindness when it was time to make hard, end of life decisions with our oldest dog. We dont plan on taking our pets anywhere else.
