this practice has fallen into disrepair. the lack of communication is dire. messages dont get delivered, calls dont get returned, tests results dont get mailed out. Dr Schoon ordered a CT scan for me months ago, yesterday he called me in to discuss ordering a CT scan. I had to tell HIM i already had the CT scan weeks ago and according to my paperwork he had already signed off on it. He made some vague remark that my test results were high due to a medication ive been taking for 11 yrs. My daughter is a PharmD--"not the cause". They also have a PharmD on staff at Unity Point Family Physicians. Ask your own co-worker how that medication comes into play. I am not risking my health to a Dr whom hasnt a clue as to whats going on.

I visited West Des Moines Family Physicians yesterday for the first time. I was assigned Dr. Schoon and couldnt have been more impressed. He was quick(I waited under a minute after the nurse left) and was very patient/sincere in listening to my medical issue. He asked valid questions, was attentive and very polite. I felt so comfortable discussing my health with him. A+++ Excellent Doctor! Possibly the best physician I have ever had!
