Ive had my dogs for 6 years and have taken them to vets in New Orleans, Colorado, and now Shreveport. This is hands down the best vet to which I have ever been. Every vet that Ive seen there has been so thorough and knowledgeable. In particular, Dr. McNair has been incredible. One of my dogs has a degenerative disc disease, and she has really taken his case on and has provided excellent care to him. Ultimately, she ended up referring us to the LSU teaching hospital for an MRI, and he underwent surgery for a disc lesion/rupture that was compressing his spinal cord. According to the teaching hospital, her diagnosis was spot on. It was also because of her that I got my dog there quickly enough to have better odds of a positive outcome with surgical treatment. Not only did she refer me to the teaching hospital, but she also made herself available over the weekend when my dogs condition was worsening. When we decided that it would be best to take my dog to Baton Rouge on Sunday as an emergency case, she called the teaching clinic for me to get all of the information about what to expect while I was there and then met me at the clinic (even though they were closed) to give my dog, Buddy, a final exam and to give me all of his records, etc. In addition to the amazing vets like Dr. McNair at University Vet Hospital, the vet techs and other staff there are incredible! They all really go above and beyond to make your experience there so personal and are all so kind and helpful. I truly cannot say enough great things about UVH. They are above and beyond with everything that they do, and I have not for one second doubted that my dogs are in excellent care there.

Ive been using UVH for a year now since weve moved to Shreveport. I picked them because they had good reviews, my neighbor recommended them, and the facility seemed new and clean. Weve seen four of the vets at UVH in the past year -- Drs. Mirts, McNair, Spivey, and Gregorio. They are friendly, competent vets. But today I made the decision to change vets because, frankly, Ive been putting up with their incompetent staff (mainly receptionists) for a year now and cannot deal with them any longer. Every time I call to make an appointment, ask a question, or anything the receptionists either doesnt know whats going on or takes forever to give me an answer. Candice is one of the competent ones that can answer questions but the rest are just clueless. Ive been put on hold so many times, longer than 5 minutes each time, which is so unacceptable. Their fees are very high compared to surrounding vets, but the vets themselves are no more competent or compassionate than other vets out there. Ive used a lot of vets due to moving and can say that most all vets are very kind and caring but the reception staff are knowledgeable, quick, and responsive, UNLIKE UVH. The straw that broke the camels back today is the WEEKLONG wait for a simple heart worm test result. Ive had to call their office three times this week to see if results were back -- which was a big hassle because I was put on hold for so long every time. Its the end of the week now and havent heard from them or anything. I called another highly rated, reputable vet in town and have made the switch. Bye, UVH, apparently you dont want my money!

Ive never gone to such a wonderful veterinarian! We see Dr Adam Foret, but all of the doctors there are excellent! I feel comfortable seeing any doctor. I have a diabetic dog and they are always the doctors I depend on for his care. They not only provide state of the art care, but are always very up to date on current treatments! Every staff member is very friendly. They are always so kind and loving to my little guy. I cant sing their praises enough!

I transferred to this veterinarian because it is closer to my new residence. Everyone there was so helpful and nice. The best part was that Dr. Gregorio listed to my concerns and answered all my questions without rushing. He was very good with my cat and very patient. I also got a follow up call and a sweet card in the mail. I will be recommending UVH to all my pet mommies. Thanks so much!! Casey S.

I have been to a ton of different Veterinarians and this clinic is by far the best. Every single Veterinarian cares so much for your dog. The people are incredibly friendly. I could not be happier with them every time I go.
