Did not run any tick-borne illness tests on our dog the when we brought our dog in with classic symptoms (now we know) of tick borne infection. We were told our dog was just faking us trying to get the good wet food. Dog got worse and a month later, still no tests, the Vet GUESSED our dog had lymphoma because she had swollen lymph nodes. The vet said "prepare your dog for heaven" because of suspected cancer. We did NOT like the lack of testing and took our dog elsewhere. Our dog had ANAPLASMOSIS as confirmed by a different vet clinic with a simple blood test. Our dog was not treated quickly enough and DIED because the treatment came too late. It was preventable and our pet was taken from us too soon. I would not recommend this clinic as no actual medicine is practiced there.

I have always had good experiences at Damariscotta Veterinary Clinic over the past 17 years. Always an immediate call back for an emergency my pets had a few times, resulting in quick appointments, and much needed aid. The Staff and Vet, Dr. Welch are very helpful, kind, and concerned with my pets health issues and satisfy their needs and mine with their quick service and by answering all my questions. I rate the clinic 5 stars.

"While vacationing in the Damariscotta area we had an unexpected need of a vet for our young Lab. Dr. Welch and her staff were wonderful and all worked out well. We are so glad that our two Labs are now officially patients of the clinic. We know we have a caring and knowledgeable vet to go to if we should need medical attention for our furry family members during our summer visits to Damariscotta. We highly recommend the clinic."

Ive used the Damariscotta Veterinary Clinic for many years. Just last week I was there with my cat for a wellness check. I was well received, waited only a couple of minutes, and had good conversations with the veterinary assistant and the vet. The cat loved both people, and they were very kind and affectionate toward him.
