Normally I would rate this place an easy 4.5+ because they do great work and Ive been bringing 5 family members here for years and Ive been coming here since they opened in Westbrook many many years ago. BUT, yesterday I just found out they no longer take my VSP Vision Plan Insurance beginning September 1, 2016. I am in shock because Ive lost a great benefit and it will cost me LOTS more out of pocket. Eyecare and Eyewear are now "out of network" with VSP Vision Insurance. Also, Eyecare and Eyewear supposedly sent out a letter explaining why they dropped the insurance, but I never received a copy until I asked for one in their office yesterday. Needless to say, I love the staff and the doctors and the quality care I have seen there for over 20 years, but because of this I may need to switch to some other place. Ill still need to call the VSP Vision Plan Insurance people to hear their side of this, but at the moment I am very very disappointed!!!!!

My experience was great. The Center has highly professional people. The wait time is quite short. No long waits. My Dr gave me a thorough exam and answered all of my questions concerning my exam.The staff is courtious and very helpful. All your questions are answered. Delivery of your glasses is quick. No long waits to get your glasses. To sum it up. The staff at The Eye Care and Eye Wear Center of Maine is a highly professional and courtious staff dedicated to making your eye care experience a great one.

Check-In process is easy and quick. Wait time to get the appointment started is short, and there are many entertaining magazines to read while you are waiting. Assistants are quick and professional with the pre-exam routines. Doctor was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and proficient. Check-out is also made simple, and all the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend a friend to join this office.
