Pros: Very friendly staff, clean office, clean waiting room, Cons: Central scheduling office, instead of being able to talk directly to the office I wanted to visit. Out first visit was for my daughter to get her teeth cleaned before she headed off to college. We arrived and where seen very promptly. We found out she had 2 cavities that needed to be addressed. We scheduled the appointment for 11:00 on a Wednesday, and 11:00 on a Thursday (could not do both on the same same as they were on opposite sides of the mouth.) On Wednesday we arrived 10 minutes early, as instructed. We waited more than an hour and 20 minutes to be seen for the service. The actual service was completed quickly. I called the office on Thursday, to inquire as to whether the appointments were running on schedule, or if they were running behind, only to be told that they could not tell me about the functioning of the office ( I assume that I was talking to someone at the central phone service location, and not directly to the office I wanted) So, we headed off again for our 11:00 appointment, only to have to wait again for more than an hour and 20 minutes to be seen. Overall, the friendliness of the staff is outstanding, and dental treatments were great. If you do not mind long waits, then this is a great office to visit. Their in office listing of dentists, listed several dentists, we only saw one. Not sure if I will return to this office, as I hate wasting time sitting and waiting. Defeats the purpose of making an appointment.

Appointment was 4pm....for two kids and I waits 6 weeks for appt... I get there at 4:07 only due to construction in front of the place.. had to gather two kids and get across the intersection.. once I got into the establishment I stood in line waiting for registration. Once it was my turn and it was 415 on their clock . The registration woman indicated they were taking no more dental cleanings today . I said excuse me I have an appointment for my two children that Ive waited six weeks for to have their teeth cleaned ? She said well you were late and I replied I have been standing here since 407 and it is now 415 due to the fact that you were dealing with other customers in front of me she said well you were late and I replied I have been standing here since 407 and it is now 415 due to the fact that you were dealing with other customers in front of me. She explained that she was sorry but we would have to reschedule it would be another eight weeks:(.. this is not our first bad experience here however this will be our last bad experience here !.. if I didnt have to choose a star they would get no stars!

OUTSTANDING PLACE! I just brought my four and five year old here for the first oral checkup and cleaning. I was a bit apprehensive at first because of all the horror stories, and unnecessary treatments Medicaid dental offices were doing on children. I researched and reviewed many places before deciding to bring them here and it was an XCELLENT choice. The office is very kid friendly, they have a play area and coloring books, games and things to keep the kids busy. I was very pleased with being allowed in the exam area while they worked on both my girls. They had the girls next to each other and the exam room is huge. The staff here is OUTSTANDING, POLITE , PROFESSIONAL and answered all the questions I had. I was impressed at how fast and thorough they were and they all worked extremely well as a team. They exceeded my expectations so much that I myself want to come here to be treated. NO nonsense, no unnecessary treatments, no coming back to have something done that they dont need, Thank you KOOL SMILES, I will be recommending this place to everyone, and will see you in six months!

So, the office is very nice and employees are always very sweet and go above and beyond for answering your questions and concerns. The negatives are, the wait is always RIDICULOUS IDK if they always over book because the area theyre in they have shanty patients who never show up for appointments or if theyre accepting walk ins at a dentist office, but its a bit unbearable....all to wait and be told only one parent could come in and my husband had to stay waiting in the waiting room (Even though there is plenty of space where they work in the back) . And sadly the waiting room wreaks of cigarette smoke as again, the area its in, everyone goes in and out constantly to smoke or you get people just hanging out the front of the building smoking, so that kind of sucks for a kids dentist to smell like smoke :( . I debated giving 3 stars but the staff really is nice, they just need to get their crap together for long waits, and maybe a smoking radius (And this is coming from a smoker)

Have not been seen for appointment On Time here at all with any of 4 kids. Every time the wait was well over an hr. WILL BE CHANGING DENTIAL LOCATION ASAP. Do not bother with this dential location unless you do not mind setting an appointment thats never on time, waiting well over an hr to be seen even if its just a 6mo check up, and a place that is more times then not over booking paitents with limited staff, not even a receptionist that can inform you that there backed up/running behind or anything, just well be calling shortly, after 50 min goes by n you ask, reply is well be calling you shortly, another 30 min goes by n again your told shortly were a little backed up (good info for a paitent to know right up front that they just dont know how long till youll be seen would be better). Its convenient for location, but in long run service n dependability in a timely manner far outweighs close location.

In July 2016 I was advised by a young Kool Smiles dentist at the Glen Burnie location who told me my tooth needed to be extracted. I was very skeptical based on what I saw on the X-ray and sought a second opinion from a more experienced dentist. A few days later I consulted a periodontist with 30 years experience. He expressed SHOCK when told that Kool Smiles had advised that the tooth be extracted. He commented that it was a completely good tooth, and only needed a crown. What the Kool Smiles dentist recommended indicates gross incompetence. Do NOT trust your teeth to Kool Smiles. I do not know about the other locations, but the dentist I dealt with at the Glen Burnie location is dangerously incompetent. Kool Smiles is a clinic for children and if this dentist is any indication, the staff has little experience dealing with adult dental issues.

I have a six year old autistic son who has a very hard time sitting still. Today was the first time he had ever been to a dentist. I have to say I was plesently surprised. They have a great CLEAN play area for the kids and lots of prizes and rewards. After my son was called back and had his X-rays the dentist and staff even gave him coloring pad and crayons while he waited to have his teeth cleaned. The openness of the examination room is also a plus In my opinion. Most kids are usually a little apprehensive about going to the dentist but seeing other kids get there teeth cleaned too makes it not as scary, and it also feels good as a parent to see and hear everything thats going on. I cant speak for other Kool Smiles branches but as far as the one in Brooklyn park, I definitely give it a thumbs up!
