I’ve only seen Alex twice for my frozen shoulder and have already made tremendous progress on my second visit! I’ve dealt with three other physiotherapists before him, both in the U.S. and overseas and I find that Alex has an amazing talent like no other. I would describe Alexs work like an auto mechanic to a car engine, able to be in synch with one’s muscles to locate the issues; having the knack for finding the right spot, performs a couple of tweaks here and there, then he is able to work on releasing the problems. I’m so impressed with his work, I believe it’s a gift that only a few handful of people in this world have. A majority of physiotherapists will take up most of your appointment time in getting you to do the recommended exercises which I do at home anyway. After a few stretches and muscle manipulation which take a good 15 minutes, you are asked to do the exercises straight away even if your muscles are weak and hurting. From my experience with Alex however, he first located my problem areas of muscle adhesion by releasing the tension or knots through dry needling, pressure point massages, and compression technique followed by a hot or cold compress to your liking. Helping my muscles heal and relax first through Alexs treatmentIt was not only beneficial but it was at this point where I really started to enjoy the exercises needed without so much pain. Finally, I feel very blessed to be in good hands. So please, do yourself a favor, if you live in Clarksville or close and need a physiotherapist to help you heal in the most productive way, I would highly recommend you make an appointment with Physical Therapy First and ask to have Alex Tan!!!

I am very satisfied with Physical Therapy First at the Clarksville location. I have been treated for frozen shoulder by physical therapist Alex Tan since February. My condition has greatly improved since I began. I have been to different physical therapy places over the years and I agree with one reviewer that in most places, the actual manual therapy is done only for 15 - 20 minutes and then I keep on doing the same exercises with no supervision. But in this practice, Alex actually spends every minute of the allotted time with the patient. Manual therapy is done for 30 - 40 minutes or longer and then new exercises are introduced as necessary and Alex actually supervises the whole time to see that they are done correctly. I also feel more comfortable getting therapy in the private rooms in this location. I highly recommend Alex Tan -- not only is he good in his profession, he is also very good-mannered, unpretentious and friendly. Brie and Mandy at the front desk are extremely sweet and helpful. Overall, this is a honest and competent practice with homely atmosphere.

What can I saw about Physical Therapy First?? Oh were to start! I label them as my "trusted advisor". The listen to my complaints, dont make assumptions, question the orthopedist (when appropriate) and dont make me keep coming back week after week when Im better! Over the last 5 years, Ive seen everyone in their Clarksville office. They are great! The bedside manner is just as terrific as their PT skills. I would and have recommended them to anyone. My entire family has been there, as well as my sister & brother-in-law. Their hours are great. If I had to say one negative about them, they are growing so fast that getting appointments right away is sometimes challenging. However, Ive seen them hire more therapist to start addressing this challenge. No reservations about recommending them at all!

I had an awesome experience working with Maureen at Physical Therapy First. As a college athlete my body has been through A LOT and adding a back injury and symptoms of sciatica left me in agonizing pain. Maureen really took the time to learn more about the cause of my injury and not only provided me with excellent treatment while I was in severe pain, but developed a great program for me to use in the office as well as when my treatment ended. I was able to ultimately become strong and healthy for my college rugby season at West Chester University. As I continue to play rugby post grad I am highly likely to seek care for future injuries down the road, if and when that happens I will definitely seek that treatment at Physical Therapy First!

Physical Therapy First in Clarksville was absolutely wonderful in helping me gain more strength and mobility in my neck. Alex and John took a vested interest in listening to my feedback and worked through a program each week to alleviate the pain in the designated areas. The work was progressive, using multiple techniques including mobility stretching, massage, dry needling, kinesiology taping, and more. I also want to thank Brie for her proactive nature in getting me in when I had changes to my schedule. You all were wonderful!

Ive been working on and off with Maureen Ambrose for several years. As a personal trainer, Im constantly on my feet and hard on my body. Dr. Ambrose has helped me overcome a multitude of injuries. Shes always on time and very professional. I even recommend my clients come to Physical Therapy First when they need to get something looked at. Ive been to other clinics over the years, and can honestly say I always feel comfortable with the staff and clinicians at Physical Therapy First.
