I usually dont write reviews, unless they are glowing. However, being new to the area-I have come to realize that I appreciate both the negative and positive reviews of products, doctors and contractors. Thus, I am finally posting my first negative review. I had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Sclater; however, when I got to the office- they gave me Dr. Mohamed. The staff and doctors were very nice; however, the medical advice was extremely questionable. Dr. Mohamed told me I had two cavities (which was true). She explained that one would be a regular filling and one would be need a porcelain on-lay ( I think that is the correct term). The price quote was approximately $3000 for the two teeth. When I arrive at the appointment, Dr. Mohamed gave me Novocaine and she told me that my mouth was so small that I would need a specialist (which I have never needed before) to do the on-lay. Then, as she started drilling, I felt everything. She told me that the Novocaine wasnt taking because I was so nervous??? and that I would probably need to come back on a different day once Id taken some sort of sedative?? I told her that I wasnt that nervous and I really just wanted to get this over with because I had already had the injections of Novocaine. She tried to drill again, but it was too painful. She sat me up and referred me to get an evaluation because she was pretty sure I needed two root canals (of my lower back teeth). I should now mention that the two root canals would be close to $7000 (approximately $3500 for the endodontist and $3500 for the build-ups that Gentle Family Dentistry would do. What???? I never even went to the root canal guy she recommended. I didnt trust her medical advice...so why would I trust her recommendations?? So, I went to another dentist in Annapolis who was shocked at Dr. Mohameds recommendations and filled the two cavities in 1 hour with no complications. No specialists....no sedatives. My total cost....$250. Needless to say, no one in my family will be going back to Gentle Family Dentistry.

Although I havent been to Gentle Family Dentistry, I can absolutely attest to Dr. Mohomeds patient care. She has been my dentist for approximately 5 years now. Before my first visit with her, I hadnt been to the dentist in nearly 15 years. I was nervous, I had a lot of work to be done including fixing some previous dental work that had never been completed. I never felt rushed with her, I could ask her as many questions as I needed to to be able to understand the treatment I was to have, and I left the dental office that day feeling reassured, confident, and comfortable. When I arrived just a few days later to begin treatment, I felt like she was genuinely happy to be helping me complete my dental work, she was very welcoming and made me feel at ease immediately. We talked about what exactly was going to happen that day, but more than that, she LISTENED to me. She took my concerns about treatment, cost, nerves, etc. into consideration. I never felt her put the numbing solution in my gums, she was attentive to me at all times during all procedures, and was always very personable with me. Ive recommended many people to her and I sing her praises as a dentist all the time! Dr. Mohomed is a wonderful dentist and Im so grateful to have found her!

The staff at Gentle Family dentistry is simply amazing! They are friendly from the moment you walk through the doors to when you leave feeling better about your smile! Everyone there greeted you with a hello and they ask how youre doing. Its these small details that calms people who are scared of the dentist like myself. Their office is pristine, modern, and state of the art. It not only feels safe, but it also feels like they can get the job done with the equipment they have. Sandi (the Hygienist) did my cleaning that day and she was very thorough, she genuinely was interested in learning more about me and my teeth and she gave great pointers on how to keep my smile perfect. She was gentle, responsive, and inquisitive. Dr. De Leon did my check. She is very professional yet friendly and familiar. She was very thorough with her assessments making sure that everything was explained. She even showed me what my teeth looked like in 3D! She will make you feel at ease! If youre looking for a dentist within a 50 mile radius, seriously consider making the drive to see them!

If I could have rated my experience with Gentle Family Dentistry, LLC higher than 5 stars, I DEFINITELY would have. Since a bad experience with a dentist as a kid, I have had issues going to a dentist. While I was complaining to a friend who is well aware of my "fear" of dentists about the intense pain I have been having in my jaw for several week, he suggested I go to Gentle Family Dentistry, LLC. The pain finally got so bad, I finally made MY OWN appointment. (My wife always does that for me knowing I wouldnt go unless she did.) My experience was fantastic from start to finish. Even as a new patient, they were able to see me the very next day. EVERY single person I interacted with from the receptionist and dental hygienist all the way to the dentist were EXTREMELY friendly and professional. I couldnt have been treated better. I will not "be afraid" of going to the dentist ever again!!! I will be telling not only my friends and family, but anyone who will listen about the great people at Gentle Family Dentistry, LLC.

I contacted this practice when my tooth was in pain. I had not been to a dentist in over 7 years and was very hesitant to even make an appointment. However, the pain was so bad, i was desperate. Luckily, they got me in right away. The front staff was very polite and the assistants were also very nice. I met Dr. Mohomed and she took the time to explain exactly what was going on and really took her time explaining the work that needed to be done, not only to the tooth that was in pain, but to some of the other teeth in my mouth. I have been many times now, to have other teeth fixed up (still a work in progress) and have been very satisfied with each visit and follow-up. I will continue to use this practice and recommend Dr. Mohomed to anyone, especially to those who have not been to a dentist in a while and anyone who is hesitant to see a dentist.

I have been a patient there for a while and they do a great job. They have this new machine that makes crowns in the office, that way you dont have to wait weeks like you used to. I was skeptical at first but it worked out really well and the crown came out great. They have all of the latest technology which shows they really care about giving you the best care. I highly recommend the girl i normally get for cleanings as well. Dont remember her name but she is great and im sure the other ladies are as well. It doesnt seem like they would allow someone there who doesnt do high quality work! The staff is wonderfull and really helpful. They took the time to explain any costs to me and made sure I truly understood everything before doing the work. You can tell they want you to get the best care possible. They are truly one of the best ive ever been to!
