There is a terrible lack of communication and response when it comes to patients needs and discussions with family members. Ive never encountered a hospital this inaccesible! The visiting hours in the intensive care unit are EXTREMELY restrictive; more so than any other hospital Ive ever been to. You can only visit for 7 hours out of the day and this time is broken up in a way that if you have a job, youll never be able to visit your sick loved one. When I asked about the limited hours, I was told they had an incident where a patients family threatened staff (and that had to ruin it for everyone)?! I completely understand why a family member would do that here!!! Most of the nurses are SLOW to respond and most of the doctors are almost never around and cant be bothered answering any questions. By the way, when you DO show up during visiting hours, most of the time, you find the door to the wing locked and there is a button to press for access, but no one ever responds! You just have to sneak in behind an employee when you can. So many times when Ive called, Im told there are no nurses on the floor... yes, even in the intensive care unit! My grandfather couldnt breathe one day and kept pushing for help until he finally called me on my telephone, gasping for air, asking me to call the main switchboard and get him some help and it still took 20 MINUTES! Shameful. Weve had good experiences with a couple staff members, but most seem incompetent and have poor bedside manners. By the way, most of my family members are in the health care industry and are appalled by this hospitals actions, especially the lack of communication. This is just heartbreaking and I have to wonder why they are so adamant about keeping family away. I really suspect its due to the lack of quality care they are trying to conceal.

The Hospital professional services are great! Especially the Professional building next to the hospital. I would love to give this hospital a higher rating, but the ER really ruins it for me. The ER is what makes or breaks a hospital and I believe that the Hospital admin really needs to invest more into the ER. I had an emergency 3 months ago and went to the ER since this hospital is the nearest to me. I walked in at 3pm and walked out at 10pm. 7 hours is unacceptable. You wait hours in the ER lobby waiting room in horrible pain, only to be moved to a hallway waiting room to wait a couple more hours before being seen. You see its the waiting that kills it for this Hospital. The staff nurses and doctors a great, professional, and knowledgeable, but must be severely understaffed due to their slow response time. Its sad to know if I have an emergency, I cant rely on my local hospital. I just hope if I ever have another emergency, I can make it to Holy Cross ER. This ER lost my trust and I will now avoid it at all cost. Doctors Community Hospital is next to my neighborhood and is walking distance for me. My son had an emergency 3 weeks ago. Due to my bad experience at this ER, rather than take him next door, I drove him to DC Childrens hospital 30 min away to be seen. Im glad I made that decision, we only waited 20min in the ER waiting room and was seen by a doctor within 1 hour. I could only imagine how long I would have waited should I have gone to Doctors.

This hospital is the worst hospital Ive ever been to in my life!!!! I would never under any circumstance go back to this hospital for any reason what so ever!!!! The hospital is very dirty, very rude nurses, and not one nurse couldnt even put in an IV without having to stick you over 9 times. It was sooo sad! I had to wait for a doctor to release me for over 9 hours after being told by every nurse and doctor at the hospital that hed be there 9 hours before, I understand things happen but dont have me and my family waiting 9 hours just to see you thats very rude and unprofessional. In my opinion I feel nobody in the hospital had no idea what they were doing!!!!! NOT ONE PERSON!!! I had to come in on a ambulance, I was lucky, From what I saw on my bed they bought a woman to looked to be at least in her late 80s in from an ambulance who looked to be not breathing, after they bought her not a person from the staff checked on her or even looked at her. She was left sitting in a wheelchair for over 15 mins until a family member showed up and raised hell. Like I said before and will repeat, again and again DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! If bought too this hospital transfer as soon as you can!

The only positives about this place were the kindness of the nurse and that I was given a private room to wait in. Otherwise, it was terrible. I came here in the middle of the night on a weeknight. I wasnt seen by a doctor until 6 hours after arriving, even though the emergency room wasnt busy. Aside from seeing a nurse when I first arrived, the only staff member who came to my room in those 6 hours was the billing manager. They were far more concerned about making sure I could pay the bill than they were about providing care. I was grossly misdiagnosed. The worst part was how condescending the doctor was. I told him that the diagnosis didnt really make sense given my symptoms, but he insisted that he must be right and that I knew nothing! Funny thing, the doctor I went to after being discharged strongly disagreed. Even with a misdiagnosis, I received no treatment. Finally, Ive paid my bill in full, but Im continuing to get overdue bill notices from them over a year later. After each notice, I send them proof that Ive paid my bill, they claim that it is noted that the account is paid in full, and then I get another notice a few weeks later. Dont go here!

Unfortunately Im back at this hospital. This hospital was once the hospital with the highest level of care and professionalism. Wrong, I have been waiting over 4 hours just to be seen by a doctor. The young lady at the front desk is just as ghetto as all out doors. The security guards are more focus on the football games thats on TV then anything. There is throw up on the floor as well as what looks like drops of blood. The trash can is full and trash is falling on the floor. The mens bathroom looks like it wasnt clean since the early 80s. No one can answer your question when you ask one. This has to be the worst experience. Sad part is, I cant leave because Im so sick to the point I cant drive myself home or anywhere else. The nurses in triage are clearly having fun. One guys kicked his shoes off to lotion his feet and legs, theres a girl talking on her phone. Catch this, I was about to have blood work done. A guy came out of the rest room with his urin sample, the nurse picked up his piss and did what she needed to do with it and then thought she was about to draw my blood. How disgusting is that. This cannot be real.
