I had been a patient with Parkview Medical for years. Then they changed doctors and got a new office in Mt. Airy and they went straight downhill from there! Twice, in one year, I had to reschedule my aptmt. So I called the office to reschedule. And there was 13 people waiting, on hold, to talk to the scheduler one time and 11 in front of me the second time. So, both times, I transferred over to where you could leave a message to cancel and tell them you were going to reschedule for a later time. Well, apparently, they do NOT LISTEN to their cancellation messages. So they charged me as AWOL and that I had to pay for those times I was apparently AWOL! WHICH I WASNT! Mind you, I did reschedule BOTH TIMES! And I even told the scheduler when I FINALLY got thru to them, that I left a message on the cancellation line. She even agreed that they were having serious problems with their scheduling system. So then I get this notice in the mail that I was being charged AWOL for both times. And that they were dropping me as a patient! I called, AGAIN, to talk to the Physicians Assistant to explain. And I had to leave a message for her to call me back so I could straighten this mess out! She never called back. Well, I just wanted to warn everyone about this type of situation. Needless to say, I have found a wonderful (REAL M.D. instead of a P.A.) doctor, who I am very happy with and look forward to being a patient of hers for a long time. She has a wonderful bedside manner and the staff there are very pleasant! I had been a patient at Parkview for over twenty years. They say that things happen for a reason! Maybe its because I needed better medical care!

Will not go here anymore, the receptionist Mary is awful. I was late by less than 9 mins - 1st time ever after 7 years- due to weather and Mary said the doctor would not see me (there policy is 15 mins. not 9 mins) according to the doctor she lied, hmmm. This past year the doctor wanted me to schedule more follow up appointments every 3 months for prescriptions instead of my usual annual visit- hmmmm. My chart appears to be missing a previous visit and recent blood work and they NEVER tell you the results anyway. The new facility they moved to in Mt. Airy is nice but I seem to be paying for it, loss of paperwork, terrible staff.

Been going to Parkview for 20+ years, never a issue with scheduling or med refills. Like any doctor office, the later in the day the longer the wait, I go early in morning, in and out. Using the patient portal makes scheduling and med refill requests super easy and covienent.

Great facility. Fantastic Practice. Horrible answering service. It could take up to 30 minutes until you actually get to speak with someone. I wish I could give a higher rating. If your patients cant get a hold of you by phone. Thats a problem.

Usual 20 min wait on phone, and then to voice mail. Takes weeks and multiple requests for standard med refills. Expect to spend considerable effort to book routine appointments. Appointments run 20-60 min late.
