My boyfriend and I recently changed insurances and were on the hunt for a dentist we could both go to and I came across this dental group with which I sent my bf in first to see what he thought and also as a guinea pig since Im terrified of dentists. For once he came back raving about how much he liked Dr. Shefaat and how he has to go back to have additional work done. Next up, me. I went the next day and the staff is very welcoming and so friendly. The office itself is very sleek and modern. The check in was on a digital touch screen (which I learned after butchering my signature a couple of times trying to do it with the mouse). I hadnt even sat for an entire minute before being called back which is a miracle since Im used to waiting for a long period of time imagining the very worst outcome. Jacie was the assistant taking care of me and she was as nice as can be and fun to talk to. Didnt realize we were done doing my xrays since we talked about Netflix the whole time. Once I went back I was surprised to see that all my Xrays appeared on a TV screen located on the wall across from me. The doctor also used a tool that takes pictures of what hes telling me about so I could put a picture to what he was explaining. Me, being the visual person that I am, thought this was amazing! Up until this appointment I have never met a dentist I liked or trusted. I dont feel like Im being pressured to have my dental work done immediately or that if I dont my teeth will fall out. Dr. Shefaat made it clear that its not urgent but to keep in mind that it will have to be taken care of eventually and before it gets bad. Being told that makes me want to go back sooner! I was also able to text the receptionist Margi and ask her to send my file to my oral surgeon after I had already left the office so that is also a nice perk.

Dr. Shefaat is a very angry man and I advise you to stay far away from his practice. My family has been going to see him for the last year and a half and today I finally decided I had to find another practice, that he is not a safe practitioner. The last 3 times I saw him he had been yelling and lecturing his staff and they just seem to cower from his rages. I would never say anything about his anger directly to him especially because he was about to work on my mouth and I wanted him to be as calm as possible. Today I had enough. First, he had me wait and when he called me in he seemed very angry. He told me that he was going to give me a new crown even though I didnt need a new one, I just needed him to slightly reshape the crown already in my mouth so it wouldnt irritate the inside of my mouth. He said he would only do that if I paid him privately, because this procedure was not included in my insurance. Then he told me how much he hates working with clients who have dental insurance. Then he told me how much time he spent on customer service with me, as if getting approval from the insurance company was an over the top expectation. Then he said that I dont pay him what he deserves. Then, when I called his practice and said I was leaving and wanted my dental records, he said only if I pd him $35 for the xrays I already paid for. He has a great dental hygenist and I dont envy her day to day experiences with him. Find someone else to take care of your teeth.

So thankful that I have found Dr. Shefaat! I had been suffering with a horrible tooth pain and went to see Dr. Shefaat per a friends referral. He took care of the pain right away and was kind enough to check on me in the evening. Also, I have always had a horrible habit to grinding my teeth at night. Dr. Shefaat is the only dentist who actually made me a temporary mouth guard to reprogram my bite to help with the grinding situation and it has seriously helped with the grinding! I know it sounds crazy but he really knows his stuff!! Would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a dentist!

It was amazing! I was referred by a friend of mine.. I have never got hand scaling done. Vicki, a hygienist did it for me. As we all know, it is better for sensitive teeth. Didnt take that long without discomfort! Then dr Shefaat checked my teeth and found some cavities.. He made sure I am not feeling uncomfortable.. I hate to see a dentist because of pain that I will go through. But I didnt even notice he injected needle. And he quickly got things done. He made sure I was not comfortable enough! Thank you both! I will definitely recommend my friends!

Many years ago, I worked as chair-side assistant, did limited lab work, and took x-rays for 3 DDSs. Since then, my expectations of a dentist are more about "method" than if the dentist is cordial or convenient. I find Dr. Reza Shefaat to be very, very conscientious, thorough, and willing to explain anything unfamiliar. The Hygienist, Vickie, is also thorough and competent. I have been a patient for a little less than 10 years and would willingly recommend them to anyone looking for well-trained professionals.

Dr. Sheefat is very thorough and professional. He caught something my other dentist had missed and prevented a bunch of future problems. He used this fancy camera to zoom in on my teeth, and showed me pictures and walked me through everything. He accepts the NIH dental insurance (postdoc), and with it I saved almost 2 grand on my crown. It was a total of about $950 with insurance. He did an excellent job, it looks perfect. I will be returning to his office.

I have been going to Dr.Shefat for a few years now, and I highly recommend him for anyone in search of a dentist. I have had a lot of work done by him and am very happy with the results. He is very professional in his approach, and very detail oriented. He explains all of his procedures intently and makes sure I understand what I need done and why I need it done. He is by far the best dentist that I have used in the area

Dr. Reza has been my dentist for many years and has taken great care of my teeth. He really cares about his patients and very trustworthy. The new office is very nice with all new equipment and very clean. I highly recommend Montgomery dental group. Also his staff and dental hygienist are very good. If youre looking for a dentist in Montgomery county you should highly consider this practice.

Ive been going to Montgomery Dental Group for a few years now. They are very friendly and have taken great care of me! Dr. Shefaat did a great job on some recent fillings. Vicky is an efficient and friendly hygienist. I would recommend their office. They were also very helpful in finding a periodontist for my husband to see right before the 4th of July weekend.
