I cant say enough good things about Fresh Pond Animal Hospital. Ive been taking my cats and dogs there for apprx. 5 years, and every time I need help, even when it was something out of their scope, theyd go out of their ways to help me. I am especially very fond of Dr. Cazabon, who has always listened to everything I have to say and considered my suggestions and (very few) complaints. Its difficult to find veterinarians who listen. At Fresh Pond, they are always very loving (especially Drs. Cazabon, Mateleska, Broult and Burquin) and I totally disagree with other reviewers that Fresh Pond is very expensive. I am constantly in touch with dozens of vet clinics because of my volunteer work, and I can tell you they have pretty good prices compared to other vets in the Boston Area. (If people are looking for low-cost vet services, they should look into Merwin Clinic, which is a volunteer-based vat service, not a business, and of course they would not get the attention and lengthy appointment that they get at a regular vet.) Fresh Pond Animal Hospital is actually extremely generous with low-income pet owners. They support Phinneys Friends, an organization that helps low-income people keep their pets and serves the Greater Boston area. They have also raised money to buy bullet-proof vests for police dogs. They donate their time, their skills and even their space to help others. Recently I moved a bit farther away, and I will continue going there because its very rare to find such a nice group of vets. Im very happy I found them.

is there a word to describe horrendous times 100?? IMPORTANT!!!! My accurate and honest review in Yelp keeps getting moved to the section where it is not seen nor is it included in the rating calculation. Im guessing fresh pond animal clinic advertises on Yelp - that is a quid pro quo. They goofed big time and we had to put our cat to sleep. Tried to blame us for it. They botched a routine catheterization on our beautiful male cat - handed him to my husband after procedure and said his urethra was torn, take the cat to BluePearl- they can fix it. My husband races up to Blue Pearl in Waltham. BluePearl hospital said they could try (cost $7000 or more which we were unable to pay for) but it would be tricky. We sadly made the decision to put our boy down and are still grieving over the loss months later. What should Fresh Pond have done? Admit their mistake, offer to pay for surgery - end of story. They did offer to pay for the visit in which the incident occurred and would not pay for the treatment at Blue Pearl - wanted us to sign a disclaimer. How litigious of them!! Several medical and veterinary professionals have weighed in and told us that botched catheterization is a real anomaly- hardly ever EVER ever happens. Our current vet said she had not heard of one at all in several years. !! Was it out dumb luck or something else. I dont believe in luck. You decide if you want to take your pet to them. You know how we feel.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Fresh Pond Animal Hospital! When I first adopted my dog four years ago, I began seeing a vet whose office is at the end of my street, very convenient. When it came time to get my second dog neutered, I purchased the Friends of Animals gift certificate, and my vet did not accept those. I looked at different vets in the area and I liked what I read about Fresh Pond, so we went in for a consultation. Since that day, my dogs have been patients of Dr. Ortiz. She is great with animals and people and if I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Everyone there is more than willing to go out of their way to help and it shows that they genuinely care about their jobs and about the patients. Ive never had a single issue here and I advise anyone in the area with pets - not only dogs and cats - to check out Fresh Pond Animal Hospital. I do have to say, I would love to see you accepting Friends of Animals coupons again; Not only is it a great cause, but it will help others find you, like I did.

Fresh Pond is the one and only Animal Hospital I trust to care for my best friend Bailey. I feel that it takes an animal lover to know one, and from the reception desk to the technicians to the doctor visit, Bailey is treated with genuine kindness and concern. The doctor has never failed to explain the reason for every part of the exam. I really like that if its vaccination time, I am asked to participate by stroking and comforting Bailey. There is opportunity for me to ask questions, and as Bailey has grown older (another B-day on August 1st), I feel that I have been educated as to what is best to keep her happy and by my side for years to come. I know Ive been a good Dad by giving my dog and friend the best possible care in the area (I get there from Brookline in no time). I know that should there be an emergency, one of the docs from Fresh Pond will be on call. Im really glad theyre around. If youve just made the plunge and gotten a new pet, start out right at Fresh Pond Animal Hospital.

Sumi, our Shiba Inu, came up lame this morning. I took her in as an emergency because she couldnt put her right front leg down and things looked like they would only get worse if I waited for an appointment later in the day. On arrival, we were promptly taken in as a non-life threatening emergency with a weigh-in and temperature taken immediately. Within 30 minutes , Dr. Ortiz was able to see Sumi for an evaluation and saw her limping around the treatment room in obvious pain. We focused on her right elbow as the problem since this had happened once before over Labor Day weekend. Dr. Ortiz felt a popping in Sumis elbow as she was manipulating it. We decided to have it xrayed, but when we took Sumi off the treatment table and put her on the floor, Sumis was able to walk normally! The Xray was normal and Sumi was actually cured! Whether it was luck or expertise, Dr. Ortiz is our hero for today! Highly recommend the practice.

My family has been using Fresh Pond Animal Hospital for almost 30 years. We brought our childhood cat there, and now my family brings our cat there. I am particularly impressed with Dr. Brault. He has been so wonderful with our cat who is having some issues right now. He gives his recommendations as to test to do, but understands there are limits in terms of what we are willing to do. When I have called to speak with him, he always calls me back in a timely manner, and I never feel rushed. This is a great place to bring your family pets. Update as of 12/22/15: We recently had to put our cat to sleep. It was a traumatic experience for us because we loved him so much, however Dr. Brault made the process bearable. Besides listening to me and providing advice, he made the actual process a loving, positive one. Dr. Brault is truly a special veterinarian.
