UPDATE: I would like to change my review to 5 stars. Lori Epstein, the office manager, Julie, and Dr. Salomon all were very accommodating. After two and half weeks, I called back because my prescription was off. No one made me feel uncomfortable for my previously, less than stellar, review. I am fully satisfied that they met my needs and were able to fix my lenses. Thank you, all, for going over and above to make sure I was satisfied with my experience and my purchase. I will be coming back. Kind regards, Lori S. ________________________________________________ I was a patient of Visual Eyes and followed Lori Epstein to her new place despite having loved my previous doctor whom I had seen for 17+ years. He was not asked to make the move. The woman at the front desk was efficient. She asked me to fill out forms but the store itself is very small and it was congested as I had a 9:20 a.m. appt. The first person to assist me was very discouraged because the puffer couldnt read my eyes correctly. It seemed an inordinate amount of time before the puff would come and I thought it was because I had blinked each time. I decided not to have the image scan because I was miffed that the woman at the desk didnt inform me on the phone that it would be an addl $35 because insurance didnt cover it. This is information they should let you know ahead of time. In any event, I had my chin on the rest as she had instructed. After 4 times the machine couldnt register my right eye. She seemed very stressed and asked me if my forehead was on the headrest. I said, "No, Im very short-waisted and I can barely get my chin on the correct place." She signed heavily and then adjusted the machine. Apparently, this was something I should have known. So, I didn’t really like having to see additional people right up front. My previous Dr. would have done this as part of my regular exam much more efficiently, I might add. Also, I dont seem to jell with Dr. Chesnick as other patients do. He was very thorough with my eye exam, but he seemed to want to push bifocals even though I don’t need readers. I’m cost conscious and certainly didn’t want to pay extra for special lenses. He seemed rather ignorant about of the cost of the lenses and just shrugged off the extra money like it wasn’t any big deal. After placing drops in my eyes for the dilation, he actually stuck his fingers in the corners of my eyes (presumably to keep my eyes closed) and held them there as his nails dug into the corners of my eyes. He wasnt wearing gloves and I could only imagine the bacteria that could have been infecting my eyes. Surely, he must have washed his hands, but still. I had never been physically touched in any previous eye exam. Unfortunately, I will have to go back because after a week my glasses are still bothering me. I feel like part of my head is bulging out because he corrected an astigmatism that had previously “gone uncorrected” he said. Not sure what that meant. It had been over 2 years since my last eye exam. In any event, I only give an average rating because Lori is always great to work with, but I will be looking for a new doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Andrew Chesnick at State Street Eye for the past 25 years. During that time -- a pivotal period for my eye care -- I have received consistently excellent treatment. This included a diagnosis of epiretinal membrane and a referral to a renowned retinologist at Tufts Medical Center, where I had corrective surgery. I unqualifiedly recommend State Street Eye for its range of skilled care and state-of-the-art technology.

Great people, great atmosphere. I asked a lot of questions and everyone was patient with me and answered all of them. They helped me pick out some really good glasses. Best part was my previous doctor told me i could have Lasix surgery because my eyes were to dry, that is not the case. The doctor went over everything with me. It was a fantastic experience.

Over the many years they have provided me with the best care. They are sincere, knowledgeable, and experienced with their craft. I have found them to be of the upmost concerned about your eye health-speaking from experience for the past 20 or more years in dealing with the staff.

I used to work in the same building so it was very convenient for making appointments. Everyone who works at State Street Eye is professional and friendly. I have always had good experiences whether it be an eye exam or getting a new pair of glasses. Would definitely recommend!

Im visiting Boston from Denver, and tore a contact lense. I was so so relieved when the employees here were so pleasant and accommodating. Not only did they give me a trial pair pf contacts, but also a travel kit. These are kind genuine and sincere people!

Great office service and support, The only issue I have is that I can buy my contacts on line at a much cheaper price. State Street needs to understand this and trim their margins in order to be competitive.

My appointment was only to have new lenses put in my glasses. My wait time was very short and the glasses are fine. A very satisfactory visit.
