August 13, 2011. My wife and I have just returned from Wolf Animal Medical Center in Dedham, Ma, where we have taken our two Yorkies since we got them eleven years ago. This time was very sad because we had to put one of them to sleep as a result of a pancreatic tumor that was diagnosed about a year ago. The veterinaries who treated them were Dr. John DEsopo Dr. Elaine Gilleece. Throughout their lives the people at this clinic have been wonderful with us and with the dogs. They always talked with us about possible treatments, costs, and how effective the treatment was likely to be. They never tried to talk us into treatment we didnt feel like we could afford. When Oliver was diagnosed with low blood sugar it was suggested that we do an ultra sound to verify that he had a pancreatic tumor and not do a more expensive test until later. The ultra sound verified that he had a tumor. We were told that surgery could be done, but that it is expensive and not very successful. We were told that he would not experience much the disease had advanced far beyond that point. He might live a fairly normal life for six months to three years. That was in December 2010. The veterinaries spend much time with us about what to expect and when to know it was time to euthanize Oliver. Dr. DEsopo gave us a handout on assessing quality of life for Oliver. When he have a very bad night yesterday we called the clinic in the morning and told them we thought it was time. They were booked solid but made several calls and were able to make an open time for us. We took Becket with us, and Dr. DEsopo visited with us about how we could help him adjust to life without his brother, whom he had never spent a night without. Dr. DEsopo and the whole staff were extremely sensitive to the needs of my wife and I also, not only during this painful time, but though out the more than ten years we have used their services. After 25 years of steadily rising vet costs, I recently decided to change vets and have started going to Dr. Wolfs in Dedham. What a nice place! The 2 office workers were as friendly and hospitable as can be. In fact, I must have spent 20 minutes on the phone with one of them before my visit and she was as patient as can be. They dont waste money on a fancy waiting room or pristene office (or a multimillion dollar facility like my former vet) - its an old-fashioned animal hospital where the people really care about my dogs. I just loved the vet (Dr. Desopo) - hes a sensible guy whos not out for the almighty dollar - all he wants to do is give my 3 dogs the best care and not "take me to the cleaners" in the process. And when I got my bill I knew that it was fair and reasonable, the way it should be.

I happen to think Dr. Wolfs is THE absolute best!! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs, they all were taken care of at Dr. Wolf. My Kitten was brought into Dr. Wolfs when found in the woods behind the office. By an old guy in red suspenders. Dr. Wolfs let my family bring him into our home as an orphan kitten(at least thats what we told my parents) the kitten became ours. All thanks to Dr Wolfs and the old guy. My dog is suffering from Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and Dr. Wolfs is doing there absolute best to nurse my dog back to health. Dr. Wolfs is the number 1 place to bring your animals. And im not just saying this just because my sister works there. HI KATIE!!!

We have been taking our many pets (Lucy and Sandi/dogs, Shadow, Mayo, Aengus and Frank/cats) over 15 years to Dr. DEsopo and couldnt be happier with or more confident in the care we have received. From the front desk, to the exam room and on into the back treatment area, everyone is friendly, informed and helpful. Before jumping to expensive tests and consults for various conditions, Dr. DEsopo considers all possible treatments and plans - yet always makes great recommendations for any additional care needed. Couldnt be happier with our vet care.

No one ever answers the phone when i call. Then when i just show up they are extremely rude and tell me i should of called. Its surprising they are in business as they continually told me that the problem with my cat was treatable by medication when it was obvious to another vet that it was only treatable by surgery. They milked me out of 4000 thousand dollars worth of medication. They are a disgraceful practice. Dont use them.

i cant say enough good things about dr wolfs. they are kind, compassionate, and i would reccomend them to anyone. dr desopo saved my dogs life after a she had a rare severe reaction to the rabies vaccine. he cares for his patients and i am greatful for the wonderful care they provide. this is the vet office you should choose if youre searching for somewhere for your pet!
