I had quite a bit of work done on my teeth in early 2016. I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about Southcoast Smiles. They are absolutely life-changingly AMAZING. I have had a very serious phobia of the dentist my entire life due to bad experiences as a child, to the point where I cant even walk into the office without having a panic attack. BUT, since Ive been going to Southcoast Smiles in Seekonk, i feel like my phobia has been magically cured. Right from the get-go, I felt like I was at home in the office. The kind and gently staff completely understands dentist phobias and triggers. They know exactly how to calm you down when you are getting upset, and they know exactly how to take care of you no matter how bad your situation is. After both of my surgeries, my dentist, Dr. Anderson called me on his personal cell-phone, after hours, to make sure I was feeling alright and that everything was going well with my recovery. I cannot rave enough about the quality of their work. I have received countless compliments on my smile since my surgery and wouldnt change it for anything. They even offer an in-house insurance plan that gives you a percentage off of any work you have done, which saved me a ton of money. The financial advisor, Stephanie, is PHENOMENAL as well. She helped me to fully understand the charges and help me find a way to pay for the work I needed. Never once did I feel that I was being pushed into doing anything, or rushed out the door so the next appointment could start. I could go on and on about how great they are. If you are thinking about having any amount of work done to your teeth, PLEASE go and see them at Southcoast Smiles. Your life will only change for the better!

Southcoast smiles is a lovely facility, warm, inviting and the staff greets you with a smile and are attentive. The services they provide are a menu of things like any other dentist albeit higher priced they definitely upsell. The xray machine is digital and gleaming. Dr. Joy Dhawan is kind and was initially great with my daughter. For my daughters 5th cavity fill she happened to see the novocaine needle and had a panic attack. I preferred to leave and try again. Dr. Dhawan insisted that she would not touch my daughter again without giving her anesthetic and sleep inducing versed (I dont believe this should be used on children just to fill a cavity I am a nurse FYI). She would not agree to give my daughter a second chance considering she had filled my daughters previous cavities with no problem. Dr. Joy Dhawan was UNABLE to EFFECTIVELY reduce her OWN anxiety to do a simple cavity fill for my child. She is not confident enough. For that we chose a new dentist who has since successfully used novocaine with a needle to fill my babys tooth. Southcoast smiles is gleaming soulless and profit focused. Pick a family run dentist

The day we were supposed to go on vacation my 6 year old daughter told me that she had a new tooth! Would be excited except it was growing in behind her baby tooth, which didnt seem loose. I called her dentist (not this one) and was treated very rudely. I ended the call with no new information. So I googled Kid Dentist in my area and found this location. I called them and was treated with Superb Customer Service. By the end of the call I was reassured that this is actually common and since my daughter wasnt in any discomfort they told me I had no reason to cancel my vacation. I made an appointment for the week after our vacation. Yesterday we had her appointment and the staff was just as good as the first person I had talked to. Each person there greeted my daughter with kindness and respect. They spoke to her as a person which eased her nervousness. The dentist was very reassuring and thorough. Im very happy with our new dentist and made an appointment for her cleaning. Being treated with respect, for me and for my daughter is so important and their kindness was sincere and honest.

I am very disappointed in this office. I had Dr. Kuchar put in a crown in Dec. 2014 and she never said why I needed it. That bothered me. Every time I go back, I need at least $500 work done on my teeth. The last dental hygienist told me I had decay on several spots and I needed a tooth pulled that they had me do a root canal. Plus I needed deep cleaning! I went to a new dentist for a second opinion April 15, 2015. I did not need a tooth pulled or deep cleaning. I am so thankful I didnt let southcoast pull my tooth. They are crooks. PLEASE get a second opinion if they recommend a lot of work on your teeth!!! I hadnt seen the dentist after my cleanings since Dec. 2012. That was a red flag to me. When I questioned it, the dental hygienist said do I want to make an appointment? What? No way was I coming back!!!!! I will not recommend SOUTHCOAST to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About ten years ago, after many bad dentist experiences, I found out about sedation dentistry, and finally had work done that was long overdue. Then two years ago my dentist retired. I wish him well, but now was desperate to find another dental practice that would accommodate my needs. Southcoast Smiles is that practice. I’ve been with them for about a year now, check-ups and cleanings, and just had my first sedation appointment to have some other work done. Dr. Miranda is wonderful, as is the entire staff of assistants, hygienists and the administrative staff. The atmosphere when you enter the office is professional and soothing, as are the work areas. My sedation appointment last week was perfect, and the next day my mouth felt so good that I could hardly believe it! If you are looking for an excellent dental practice, I can highly recommend Southcoast Smiles!

I called for an appointment when my 16 month old son fell and chipped his tooth. They got us in within 24 hours. I was able to download the paperwork on their website and fill it out before the appointment, which made things much easier for us. The girls at the front were very welcoming and Dr. Joy was great with my son! She was very gentle and explained what she would be looking for and offered some suggestions for us in the future. The appointment was quick and easy, which is always great with a little one. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be bringing him back for future appointments.

You know you have a good dentist when youre a PHOBIC and you call him the next day to say THANK YOU for the smooth extraction. He stopped when I asked him to stop mid panic attack and went as far as to leave the room so I could gather myself. (Normally, Im sedated but this was an emergent situation.) He was calm, kind and fast. His assistant worked one handed while I squeezed her other one and they gave me a play-by-play as we went along so I knew what to expect. Southcoast Smiles is a good form of exposure therapy, I swear it. I can truly say I love my dentist.
