Ive followed Dr. MacAlpine when he moved from one location to another, so he can continue to image my eyes with the retinal imaging equipment that few other optometrists have. This equipment images vessels at the back of the eye so the optometrist can study them and magnify them in ways that are not possible when studying a live image. The image of the retina and vessels provide clues to your overall health as well as the health of your eyes, since its the only non-invasive way to see a live blood vessel. For this reason, among others, I wouldnt go anywhere else. I understand someones concern about the front-office staff, but my wife and I have never experienced anything like that, to the contrary the front office has been wonderful in resolving insurance issues, and in any case my overriding concern is the quality of medical care.

I went in for a routine eye exam as I wanted new glasses. My eye pressure was a tiny bit high (nothing extraordinary) but Dr. McAlear performed a more definitive test called a field exam just to be sure all was okay. It wasnt. Long story short, I have glaucoma (high eye pressure that, if left untreated, causes blindness). If Dr. McAlear hadnt been so proactive, it probably would have gone untreated for another couple of years and caused irreversible damage. I was impressed at how caring Dr. McAlear was when he broke the bad news to me. Im pleased that my ophthalmologist still sends me back to Dr. McAlear for periodic testing. Plus I was just in to get new glasses--the selection and the staff is great!

I took my 6 yr old daughter here who was complaining of not being able to see the at school.Dr. McAlear was FANTASTIC, he was so great and Patient which is what you need to be when dealing with small children. After spending an hour and a half with us at her first appointment, he had us come back again tonight FREE of charge so that he could make sure that he could fit her properly. My daughter ended up needed glasses and we found the cutest pair at the office and the prices were so great! Shannon who helped us pick out the glasses was awesome too! My daughter is super excited about her new glasses and they really made her feel special. I would recommend them to anyone!

McAlear Eye Care is great. My husband and I both see Dr. McAlear, and we highly recommend him. The weekend and evening hours are extremely convenient, and the online portal is great. If you prefer calling on the phone, the office staff is very friendly and helpful. Our appointments have always been very thorough but also efficient. Dr. McAlear is honest, professional, and friendly. I leave my appointment knowing I have the best option for me and my eye health.

I have always been very pleased with my eye care visits. Dr. McAlears office is always clean with little-to-no wait time for my appointment. He has all the latest technology and I feel I am getting a very thorough, yet gentle, eye exam. I leave the office knowing my eyes are being thoroughly taken care of. I cant imagine the previous person had a regular employee - the front desk woman was exceptioanlly helpful, explaining costs and helping to figure out how to minimize them. So friendly and comfortable there - I took my 11 yr old and they are great with kids! Now my husband and I have switched to them, and I recommend them to everyone I know!

The doctor and staff are great, online appointments very easy and convenient, hours are flexible, great selection of glasses and they are very informed about insurance and how to maximize benefits. We are very happy going here!

I appreciate that he does his homework and only gets his contact lenses from reputable companies and distributors. You cant replace good eye care with cheap online services!

Wonderful experience. Doctor and staff so nice.I missed my earlier appointment and they generally charge $25 for that. But they didnt charge me anything extra when I went to clinic.They did a very thorough examination. Getting an appointment is easy. For eye checkup this is a great option in weymouth.

We have been back two years in a row to get my 3 year-old sons glasses. They have a small collection of toddler glasses for half the price of other childrens retailers. Everyone has been very friendly and always honest about how to save money on extras that arent needed. We will be back next year!
