Dr. John Deering is a thoughtful caring practitioner of al the needs one might require for vision enhancement.When it came time for me to attempt to use contact lenses John took all the time necessary to explain in detail the technology used in the different types of options and lenses available from aspheric(bifocal)sp? - through daily use monovision contacts. He is patient and helpful, explaining and fitting the best vision enhancement for me. His examination is thorough and precise and will find any problem and refer(not necessary in my case) to a specialist when called for. John keeps technically up to date with the latest info and as I pointed out already, is willing to spend all the time necessary with a patient to keep him/her informed and most confident and comfortable with his/her treatment. I would recommend John and his WHOLE establishment of efficient caring staff as THE vision care specialists from eyeglass to contact lens services. MOST sincerely - Jan Duffy

I have enjoyed wonderful service at Winchester Optical for years. Conveniently located just outside the hustle-bustlle of Winchestre Centre, with plenty of parking available both on Main Street and the quiet streets off of it, the shop is a warm and delightfully decorated place, plentifully stocked with any type of eyeglasses you might want. Pricing is very reasonable. Doctor Deering is patient, thorough, and perfectly charming. Ive been getting all of my optometry needs met at Winchester Optical for a few years now. Ive moved away from Winchester in the meantime, but I stick with this business, and never intend to change that. I found the good one.

I have just moved to Winchester from Ohio and have not established myself with an optical service. With high recommendation from my daughter who is a Winchester resident and her family is a customer of Winchester Optical, I recently visited the Winchester Optical office as a "walk-in" with an medical eye concern. I was treated so welcoming and was given special care for an opportunity to see the doctor that afternoon. Been going here for a few years. The staff and optometrist were very helpful and patient (I hate eye exams.) They even helped someone notoriously indecisive through the crucial what frames work for my weird face shape decision making process. I was very happy with the whole experience and the resulting pair of glasses for my pretty significant astigmatism. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking in the area.

Great doctor, great frames, great service! I am near sighted, far sighted, and have an astigmatism. Dr. Deering is great. He spends time with me and explains what is going on with my eyes. I never feel rushed. I have decided that glasses are jewelry for my face. I have many pairs in different styles and colors. People are always asking me where I got them. Winchester Optical has the best frame selection!
