I had to bring in my preemie daughter who was 4lb at the time to see this doctor for routine retina check (since she was preemie). He made us wait for a full hour in the waiting room full of coughing people, I think because another preemie and mom had an appointment an hour after us and he must have wanted to see us back to back. Then he was very cold and abrupt with my daughter in arranging her against her lap. She was very upset and I was trying to calm her to get her to hold still for him and he snapped at me: "Youre not helping, MOM!" in a very sarcastic manner. He also did not describe what he was doing or why. Im not typically a complainer but this doctor had atrocious bedside manner and I left quite upset. Perhaps he is skilled and if you dont care about bedside manner, hed be fine, or perhaps he just doesnt know how to handle children, but if you need to bring your young one in for an eye appointment, Id avoid this guy at all costs.

We had to take our three year old in to diagnose a lazy eye. The staff was friendly and Dr Gise was prompt and thourough. I was a bit shocked when he just came into the room and started thte exam without any introduction - then he finished and explained that will small children he needs to get right to work before he misses his window of opportunity. We have had very little wait times for both visits and and very happy with his manner and professionalism.

Terrible. I read the reviews about cancellations. He has cancelled 3 appointments on me for my two daughters, one of which we are trying to correct her lazy eye. Then when there you are rushed and made to feel as though you are just another paycheck for him. I received an appointment confirmation call on Friday afternoon for this upcoming Mondays appointments for my girls. 4:18 on Sunday I just received another cancellation. Absurd.

Dr Gise has been my daughters eye doctor since she was discharged from the NICU, while we like the way that he works with our daughter the biggest complaint is that it seem like her appointments always have to be canceled and then rescheduled for one reason or another.

Dr Gise always cancel your appointment. They call you 2 days before for the confirmation and on the day of your appointment they call you and cancel it. This happened to me more than 4 time. Call to get my sons record and this lady gave me a hard time.
