Dr. Lauren Young is an amazing doctor who has been nothing short of a blessing to me. As a young woman in my early 20s who had been bounced around and dismissed by many in the medical field, Dr. Young was the exception. She has been able to discern what was going on with me and has been instrumental in helping me to get better and stay positive through some truly difficult obstacles. I believe and she has proven that she deeply cares about my well-being -- physically and emotionally. Each time I have been to her office I am treated with respect, genuine kindness and greeted so warmly. And just when I begin to think I must be someone "special" I see the next person that comes into the office treated just as warmly! Connecticut Natural Health Specialists is an office filled with people who are compassionate, professional and talented. This is the first review Ive ever posted but because Dr. Young and her staff have helped me so much I felt inclined to write and express my gratitude and recommendation. I have also been treated by Dr. Ashley Burkman and can attest to the fact that she, too, is a talented, compassionate doctor. Unfortunately Ive been to a lot of specialists for someone as young as I am, and can honestly say that I have never been more impressed than I am with everyone involved with Connecticut Natural Health Specialists -- nor have I ever been treated with such respect and compassion. I love this office and think of Dr. Young as my primary care physician.

As a patient of Dr. Young for a few years now, I have come to think of her and the staff at Connecticut Natural Health Specialists as my oasis. I sought the services of a Naturopath after a myriad of health issues left me sick, tired and fed up with my symptoms being treated with drugs, while the underlying issues remained. I wanted to heal, and I needed someone willing to help me find a way off all the meds. And I needed hope. Needless to say, I hit the jackpot! Dr. Young has helped me turn my health around, literally. She has an approach that is refreshing, fueled by tremendous knowledge and complemented with compassion and integrity. It is abundantly clear that this is her lifes passion and I feel fortunate indeed to have found her. I have recommended her and Dr. Burkman to friends and co-workers and, perhaps most telling, to my family. I believe in them wholeheartedly and am grateful for the incredible service and attention I receive from the entire staff. I highly recommend Connecticut Natural Health Specialists to anyone who is looking to find a doctor that puts her patients first and whose staff is consistently pleasant and helpful. I have never posted a review EVER for ANYTHING, but had such an unpleasant, disappointing and infuriating experience with this office, Ive felt compelled to warn others. I called and spoke with a receptionist and asked if I could speak with Dr. Burkman who had been referred to me as a potential Dr. to pick up the complicated testing of another integrative medicine specialist I had been involved with. I was told that the Dr. does not talk to anyone unless they are patients. I then asked how is it then I could determine whether or not Dr. Burkman could assist me? The do not talk to policy was reiterated. It went downhill from there. Maybe my expectation for care, collaboration and access is too high...but my impression is that this practice thinks, like every other traditional doctor, they are not to be questioned, that people should just take what they get without inquiry, and just shut up and pay even if you dont have a clue to what you might be setting yourself up to pay for. Very, very disappointing. Alternative ? Hummmm.

After having children you get very spoiled with the care you get from an OB while pregnant or pediatrician once the baby arrives. It is very rare to find that level of caring in another specialty, but CT Natural Health Specialists have it. The staff are welcoming, kind, and always try to help. But, that makes sense because they are an extension of two of the nicest people I have ever met: Dr. Lauren Young and Dr. Ashley Burkman. I feel very lucky to have found their practice. It has made a huge difference in my heath, my childrens health...my entire familys health. They have not only treated us, but taught us about why the symptoms are occuring and the root cause. I understand my body so much better, and instead of ignoring it...I listen to it and follow its instruction. Thank you for all your help!!

I had many health issues that my primary care doctors just "didnt have the time for" but Dr. Young did and helped me trust myself and my instincts. Dr. Lauren as I refer to her is the best doctor I could ever ask for. She has helped me since I was in high school and now as an adult I view her as my primary care doctor. She intently listens to my problems and will go to great length to find the answers and help fix and issue. Dr. Lauren is so sweet and nice and overall a loving doctor. Not to many of those left.... If you have any medical, health, nutrition, concerns, This office is for you!

Best naturopaths I have ever been to. I think of Dr. Burkman as my primary physician and dont see anyone else. The experience has been positive and up lifting every time I see them. If you have any ailments not recognized by modern medicine such as adrenal fatigue then see these ladies to get better!
