Why wait for cataract surgery? Have it as soon as possible. I was leery about having eye surgery and wanted to wait until I really needed it. That was a mistake...I could have had a whole year of vision if I acted sooner. I have been wearing glasses or contacts since the age of 3. Because of my extreme astigmatism, I was not a candidate for lasix surgery. When cataracts interfered with my vision,I followed up on a recommendation from a friend and was evaluated by Dr.Steven Shanbom. How happy I am now. No contacts! No glasses! I have 20:20 vision. The office staff are all professional and experienced.Equipment is top notch. I had my right (distance)eye corrected first. Then, two days later, I had the left eye corrected. Both procedures were painless. I would highly recommend this physician.

I recently had Dr. Shanbom remove my two cataracts. My experience with the doctor and his very friendly and accommodating staff was absolutey more than I could have hoped for. The professionalism of the doctor and all of the staff are very evident! They made me feel like part of the family and always inquired as to how everything is with me. The actual procedure was incredible! The very next day I was seeing 20/20 and couldnt wait to have my other eye done, and I did without hesitation. I am seeing 20/20 and for the first time since I was 15yrs of age(not yesterday, lol) I am not wearing glasses for distance. Everything is so clear and beautiful. I absolutely recommend Dr. Shanbom to anyone who is considering cataract surgery.

I had the pleasure of being a patient under Dr. Sally Murads care along with Dr. Shanbom. They are competent, ethical, caring and an absolute pleasure. This review is written a little over a year after the actual experience and after some reflection I realize that it was truly remarkable. I was not the patient. My sister was who has mild dementia needed cataract surgery as well a procedure to separate the lens from the pupil. Everything went well. The entire staff from Dr. Shanbom, the nurse, the receptionist everyone was professional, patient ( we needed that), kind and helpful. Soon I will be needing eye care and if there is anyway possible I will be going there!

I had cataract and vision correction surgery in September and have had a great experience. All questions and concerns were answered, the procedures were clear and all were done timely. I was reluctant to have anything done to my eyes but the cataracts necessitated I do and now I am seeing clearly without my contacts and couldnt be more grateful. I have mild stigmatism, told the doctor I couldnt see and he told me I had a dry eye problem. I was using eye drops for months before I got a second opinion and the right script. - I was blown away that they were that far off. Its a beautiful office but Shanbom is inept.
