Dr. goddell was fine but his office manager is beyond rude. It took two phone calls to get family scheduled for cleanings. Initially, the children were scheduled for two separate days but then the scheduler said that although it was uncommon, she could get them all three in on the same day but it would be over a month wait, which was fine. I got a phone call from the office one morning asking if I was going to be there any time soon as one of my children had an appointment that morning. I called back and explained that I had a different date written down for the appointment. I was told that the date that I had written was impossible Bc they would never schedule 3 children in one day and that I got a confirmation card in the mail. If it was sent, I never received it. Then ten minutes later, I received a call from Samantha, the office manager. She told me that she confirmed the appointments with me the week prior when we spoke about information thy needed from our families previous dentist. However, there was no confirmation. At the end of my previous conversation with Samantha, she said if they dont receive the X-rays in time they will have to cancel the next weeks appointment. I brushed off what she said as it was at the end of the conversation and I assumed that she mis spoke Bc I knew I didnt have any more appointments for two more weeks. Anyway, Samantha called me back after I explained to the receptionist that I had a different date written and thats why we missed the appointment. Samantha said that it wasnt going to work for my family and I to be patients there and that she is cancelling all remaining appointments! I am dumb founded! I have never been treated so disrespectful. Why would I lie? If I messed up the dates then I would admit that I messed up the dates. Not only did their office make a mistake in the scheduling, they blamed it on me, accused me of lying about it and then denied me and my 3 small children service!

At this time I have been seeing Dr. Goodell and his staff for 10 yrs. I was one of the people with high levels of anxiety, increased heart rate, knots in my stomach and sweaty palms; not any more. I had extensive painful work done in my childhood. On my first visit to Dr. Gs, everyone was thoughtful, helpful and explained every step of every procedure. I had not been to the dentist in 10 years or more, therefore, many of the old 1960s fillings needed replacement. Since I was so afraid, I opted for sedation (a twilight sedation), I could hear and respond, but felt none of the anxiety. Dr. Goodell and Julie worked all day on my mouth and replaced every amalgm(silver) filling in my mouth with composites. Now I have no decay under the old fillings, but my mouth looks good too. I also had peridontal disease to be attacked after getting the rest of my problems fixed. I went on to do the Laser LANAP procedure, which, was not completely covered by our insurance, we had $3200, out of pocket expense. We were apprised of this in advance. Our insurance covered only $1300. The outcome of the LANAP procedure is excellent! I have all my TEETH!!! My gums are healthly and not receding over 4 yrs later. And, by the way, the alternatives are root planing, an actual surgery, quite painful and leaves you with receded gum line or eventually dentures; neither of these were alternatives for me. I continue to see Dr Goodell, Julie, and Tammy on a regular basis for all my dental care. I would and have recommended Dr. Goodell to adults and children who are afraid of the dentist, and to people who are looking for a good well qualified dentist. Thank you for all the help and patience with me and my issues. Marcia

BEWARE!!! SAM from the other review is the office manager. Dr Goodell performs experiments on humans without telling them. His office called telling us my husband had to have surgery or he literally risked dying or heart disease from periodontal concerns. We could not afford the procedure and told them so. They assured us our insurance would cover the $4000 LASER LANAP surgery expense and it was already preapproved by our carrier. She even wrote out a payment plan explaining what the insurance carrier agreed to. Turns out insurance did not cover it. The office manager SAM (yes from the positive review below) promised to handle it assuring us they knew our situation and would never require us to handle this expense since they promised it was covered. She told us 6 other clients were experiencing the same problem but they were handling all of the cases. We are battling the insurance company and now SAM is threatening to sue us!! They have destroyed our PERFECT credit sending the bill to creditors to harass us while we work with the insurance company. Not to mention the good Doctor put a device in my mouth claiming it would keep me from clenching, instead it threw my jaw off causing me to need $7000 worth of braces at age 38! I had braces in high school and now I have to do it all over again. This place is a mess, you will be robbed, experimented on and lied to BEWARE!!

I was afraid of dentists. I have had some really bad experiences that have caused me to have unhealthy anxiety and fear of going to the denstist. Because of these fears, Ive neglected routine care. This created a downward spiral-- Im afraid to go to the dentist and because of that, my teeth were suffering and my problems grew worse. Im 30 years old, my teeth are the most insecure aspect of my self image and I was needing more work than I could bring myself to admit. I met with Dr. Goodell and Sam after being told they were very good working with patients whove had negative dental experiences. I needed many fillings replaced, multiple crowns, and I was scared. The entire staff was very supportive and professional in dealing with my fears. I had each proceedure explained to me so that I could understand what was to be done and what the desired result was. I was dealt with very honestly and with compassion. Yes, my teeth needed help, but it was nothing that couldnt be fixed. Thank you Walt, Sam, and everyone else for everything--not only did you make much needed improvements to my teeth, you might have even fixed my head ;-) I couldnt be happier with the services and treatment you provided me with.

I am not a fan of going to the dentist. I don’t have insurance, and I just opened my own company so money is tight. I happened to win a Zoom treatment at Brighton Family Dentist; suddenly I began to care about my teeth and my smile. I went in for my pre-Zoom treatment and learned more about my teeth and how much what I do with my mouth / teeth effects the rest of my body (including my daily headaches) I could tell how passionate and knowledge Dr.Goodell is. As I went through the process of Zoom I get to know that staff and learn how dedicated they are to him. It was nice to see such loyalty. The entire process I went through was enjoyable (yes, enjoyable.) I had to have some work done before due to a cavity on the front of my front tooth, so I was there every couple days for 2 weeks. I knew what was happening at every turn, and new my expenses before the work was done. There were no surprises. I have to have more work done and I ‘m going to trust my smile and my health to Dr. Goodell and Brighton Family Dentist.
