At a young age we knew that our daughters (Mia) teeth correction was going to be an abnormal case. We knew we needed an experienced expert to help get her the gorgeous smile she deserved. From our first consultation with Dr. AJ we knew he was the one! He was not only extremely intelligent but he was a kind and personable man that treated both our daughters and ourselves with respect and warmth. From the first consultation, Dr. AJ explained the course of treatment that he wanted to do. This was going to be a lengthy process and nothing was going to be "easy." Mia had several teeth that were out of alignment and would need some work getting them where they needed to be. But for us this wasnt a huge concern it was the k9 on her left side of her mouth that decided to not descend and decided that it wanted to stay in her gum in place of the roots of her front, top teeth. Her four front teeth have short roots, this is genetic, and Dr. AJ spotted this in her first x-ray. Due to this fact, action needed to be done quickly and Dr. AJ jumped into action. He got us into an oral surgeon and got an exposure done on Mias tooth. The quick action on his part saved Mias tooth. Once the exposure was successful, Dr. AJ could start working on her overbite. Unfortunately, with the short roots on the front, top teeth a traditional plan couldnt be used. A spring system was used to instead move the lower teeth out to provide proper alignment of Mias teeth and jaw. It is amazing how Dr. AJ was able to fix all these issues! I truly believe that fate planned a role in showing us to this amazing orthodontist. Our lives were changed for the good by this experience. I would recommend the entire office but especially Dr. AJ! He is our magic man!!! Thank you Dr. AJ for helping our children get smiles that light up a room!

I want to do this review to attempt to fully express my appreciation for the exceptional care that my daughter received from the entire staff at Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan. After learning of the major dental work that my daughter required I pounded the pavement to find an orthodontist that I could trust. I spent many hours researching and going to consultations but I was not comfortable with anyone until I met with Dr. Ker. His genuine interest in my concerns, straightforward & honest approach to the reality of our specific situation, and obvious professional knowledge of the problem caused me to choose them as our orthodontist and I couldnt be more pleased. Not only were my daughters teeth successfully fixed (and it was a difficult procedure without a 100% guarantee of success), but they rose above and beyond when they made accommodations for our sudden out of state move. I literally was brought to tears at the end of our time there because of their faithfulness to their profession and their humanity. It is difficult to find exceptional customer service nowadays, but you will find it here. Thank you to all the staff who made our experience so great! I will always appreciate you and wish I could bring my other daughter in from Atlanta for her upcoming orthodontic needs! You are second to none.

Weve been going to the Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan for 6 years now. The doctors are super-competent and the staff is very nice and professional. Dr. AJ is the orthodontist, and our daughter loves his positive attitude and encouraging remarks. She knows that if she wears her retainer, he will notice and say something like, 2 thumbs up! If I had more thumbs, Id give you even more thumbs up!!" She loves to go for retainer checks. Other things that make this dentist & orthodontist office so special is what doesnt happen. The staff is never mean. They are always welcoming, nice and efficient. Ive never had a billing problem. Ive never seen anyone have a meltdown at the office, kid or grown-up, for that matter. The office is a nice place to wait for both kids and adults. Both feel at home. Ive always had only good experiences at the Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan. The only way this office could be better would be if it treated grown-ups too!

Our kids have been going here for several years. Dr. Curt is a caring dentist who I really like because he listens and also seems flexible. I dont think x-rays are necessary once a year, and when I voiced my concerns at the first visit he said that was absolutely fine, as long as we had them done at three key times (during their childhood) and assuming they didnt start getting a lot of cavities. I felt good about the way he was willing to work with me and wasnt too rigid. However, recently when I took the kids for their cleaning I requested my daughter not to get x-rays, since she had them last time (full mouth x-rays as a pre-orthodontic visit recommendation). But a few minutes later the hygienist informed me theyd messed up and the other hygienist had done it before receiving the message. I realize this had nothing to do with Dr. Curt (who wasnt even there that day) but I was really disappointed. That should have been written in large letters on the chart. Im not sure if well be back.

The care my children receive at your office is second to none. We have been visiting this practice since their 2.5 year old consultations. Dr. Mak is incredible with children and provides wonderful feedback with the parents. My daughter is missing some adult teeth so we have also established a fabulous relationship with Dr. AJ. He is already brainstorming a game plan to make her smile perfect and she still has all of her baby teeth. Dr. AJ is passionate and engaging and I trust him completely. The staff works as a team and is very friendly. The office is beautiful and extremely clean. My children look forward to their visits here and as a parent, you really cannot ask for anything more. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our childrens smiles. I recommend Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists to everyone I know.

Money is the name of the game with this practice, and seems to be the driving factor and all that matters. The office staff is snotty and have a "cant be bothered attitude" No compassion is evident with any staff member, Dr included, as far as individual families needs or situations that may arise financially, even if your account is current with a large down payment made. I would not recommend this location unless you have an insurance or two, plus a large income or benefactor. They are always busy, and you can expect to be on hold a lengthy amount of time if you call. Being held hostage with immediate payment expected, then turned away and forced to reschedule is not a way to run a business or keep patients. What a disgrace and Shame. Greed will only get you so far.

There are many things that keep parents of twins up at night, one of them is hearing both kids are going to need braces at the same time. Dr. AJ , Dr. Ari and the staff have made our kids time in expanders, retainers and braces easier than we ever thought it would be. Appointment times are convenient, wait times are kept to a minimum, everything that is going to happen along the process is explained so you wont be surprised, what has happened in the appointment is explained to the adults before you leave and everyone is just really nice. I highly recommend Dr. AJ and Dr. Ari of the Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan.
