I was admitted to the digestive disease floor- 4G on 10-1-15. I was there for surgery and recovery. As soon as I walked through the doors I was greeted by Steph a nurse. She got me settled into my room and made me feel very comfortable. I was nervous and unsure about what to expect. I stayed on 4G for just over a week and the entire time I was there I was treated with so much care and respect. Every nurse that cared for me was so kind and knowledgeable. Steph, Lindsey, Becca, Mandy, Kim, Michelle, Olga, Mark, Haley and Lauren. I was also blessed to have worked with Anna and Abby from Calvin. Those young women took such good care of me. Best of luck on your journey girls!! The women who cleaned my room -Magdlean and Jill were so kind. Jill took a few extra minutes to console me, after I got upset with my surgery plans. I really dont think there is a better place in the world for people with stomach issues. (I have been hospitalized on the East & West coast!) I am so thankful to have been in their care. Dr. Figg along with his colorectal team, including Kristi NP, saved my life. I hope I remembered everyone... Each person deserves so much thanks!! This hospital is amazing. The staff is beyond awesome and I am forever grateful to this floor of amazing nurses!!! If you need to be seen or cared for digestive disease this is the place to be!!! Thank you all for making such a scary uncomfortable time in my life, peaceful and comfortable. Thank you for saving me and giving me a better chance at a healthy positive life!!!!

On Wednesday, I had my father in the ER for Medical Clearance prior to admission to Pine Rests Dementia Unit. I had to run my daughter home to bed...we had been there for nearly 6 hours at that point. I spoke with the nurse, let her know I had to leave for about a half hour, and would that be alright? I told her my dad was getting agitated, and perhaps she could turn down the lights for him so he could calm down. She said she would order his meds, and keep and eye on him, so not to worry. When I returned, about 35 minutes later, he was on his way OUT of the ER doors. Fully dressed, he had walked right past the nurses station, and left. No one noticed or cared. Had I not returned at that moment, God only knows. He was in dark clothing. He could have been hit by a car. He could be in Reeds Lake. He could have been hopelessly lost and confused, or injured somehow. The excuse I got? "We didnt know he needed to be watched". A DEMENTIA PATIENT awaiting transport to Pine Rest, about whom I had a direct conversation with the nurse assigned to him. His lights were never lowered. He didnt get the med ordered until I found him and brought him back in. NO ONE checked on him. I am mortified, and angry, and I have lost my trust in the only hospital we have ever gone to. As consolation I was hurried away from any common area and offered a Sprite. I did overhear that this would be treated as a learning experience. I certainly hope so.

i received top notch medical care here. SUPER friendly... the doc gave me my results in the hospital & fast. i felt like after i left her my mental health was in fact better. i had tbh a bad experience on at the urgent care on wilson but whatever... that is not always the case there but wow... just very happy after the hospital here. the blonde guy doctor was nice & smart & helpful. hopefully i get him again. hopefully i dont have to come back lol... my nurse was great... wow, nice peice of mind to know what is going on when i leave (with my health). oh, all results were good! it was just causing me distress simply not knowing. also good to be treated nice. it is nice especially when youre stressed, sick, and well have just, just a rash (nothing more than a simple rash that will go away). :-) oh side note: there hospital & nurse advice line are very helpful... i have always throughout the years had a good experience with that as well. i just never actually went to this hospital before. i actually accidently put it in instead of st marys. good experience though

I had a serious back surgery at Blodgett Hospital and cant say enough good about it. It is older than the other hospital associated in the Spectrum however, my surgeons time was scheduled at Blodgett, so thats where I was admitted. I had a private room, all are private in this hospital and I remained in ICU my 5 days post op so I really had good care. My surgeon is excellent, Dr. Scott Russo and highly recommended by my surgeon up north. He said he could help me and he did !! My room was cleaned every day by great staff and the nurses, physical therapists, aids, the entire staff were very helpful, professional and terrific. I must add, that Tricia was outstanding, a very professional and caring nurse that really looked out for me and my pain levels. My only complaint was that the food was not to my liking. This could well have been because of the nasty meds I was taking, so I hesitate to even say anything. I would highly recommend Blodgett to my family and friends.

Was a walk-in for the ER... Immediately got attention and they ran all tests to ensure I did not have a heart attached. ER Nurse was great.. He truly knew what he was doing and kept me up to date on everything... I would of given 5 stars, but dealing with their record people is like dealing with Secretary of State. I signed a release form before I was discharged to have docs sent to my DR for my appointment,. Never did. Requested them while I was at my DR office... Never sent.... Called again and they said they were never notified and to fill out the form and send it in.... AND rude/non caring on the phone.

I wish there was a lower rating than one star. Literally the most disgusting hospital I have ever been in. From cobwebs along the ceilings and floor borders to dust along the walls. Try not to drop your belongings on the floor, the come up a completely different color. Mold on the bathroom tiles. Dusty. Dirty. Dingy. Smelly. If you feel like getting sicker, by all means, please head to Blodgett. Custodians are apparently a thing of the past, my trash and linen was overflowing onto the floor my brief stay in these facilities. It was our first time there and definitely our last.

Dr Brown and Jeff W were my surgeons and did a great job on my spinal fusion on April 7 2016, i stayed on the 3rd floor at Blodgett til the 11th. everyone was great. My day nurse Tricia was wonderful, she was very personable. everyone else was great to but i seen more of her being in the day than the others. Everyone had very good bedside manner and am glad that i came down to Grand Rapids for my surgery. Even being a little further away, i know i made the right decision for me and my health. So thank you
