There are some good qualities about Healthsouth, but they do not practice their advertisement. They have stated goals like 3 hours of Therapy per day. You are in the vicinity of therapy, but it isnt meaningful therapy. The ideal is to have therapy design and tailored around the patients need. I had a bi-lateral knee replacement. I needed therapy that was designated to getting me back on track using my knees, not playing TyDye or Uno or any other silly card game. I am 72 years old and work out daily before the surgery, so when I am presented with a 4 pound weight to build my arms and upper body, I was astonished. Many there may have needed to learn how to work out but they arent going to get physically fit with an introductory course in a week. I had a morning to where I didnt have therapy until 9 or 10 and I told them that they should have put me on the continuous motion machine, the nurse said did you ask? Now who is the patient and who is the professional? The nurse staffing is somewhat of a joke as well. They wouldnt give me a walker so I was restricted to bed. When I needed to go to the bathroom, I was forced to use a urinal. Getting it emptied was a major chore of calling a nurse and explaining it was to the point of needing to be emptied. When wet the bed from sweating, you laid in because you couldnt get it changed. The policy there is to change sheet every two days. I had developed a rash on my back and my sheet had blood spots on them, but the linen wasnt changed. When confronted, the head nurse, Lisa just wanted to argue. I was on a low fat diet for the first 3 days and each day I tried to get them to change it. Had to be a PA to get it changed. Sofia, Maria and a few of the other Therapist were very good and helpful, but they are held to certain activities that they have to do. Being ex-Navy, I live on coffee. There was only one young technician that was willing to get me a fresh cup. Others would bring in old burnt coffee. I wish I had remembered how to spell her name. What HealthSouth needs to do is hire an Industrial Engineer to watch and observe the waste that goes in terms of Patients time and care. They need to tailor the program to the patient. Their ideals of what to do are excellent, but they just dont do what they say.

My husband came to the facility after a Trumatic brain injury for his recovery and these people are not qualified to watch a stray animal much less a human being. The RN on duty Sherman Plat is the most unprofessional head of nursing Ive ever seen in my life ? They lost my husbands wallet and his iPhone when he went in the mail the night to the emergency room in their chair and they had no apologies just sarcasm My husband had a seizure and I went around to find a nurse at 8 PM at night and could not find one person in the hall or at the desk I dont know where these people train or why they are allowed to act like this I apologize to the few that are professionals there but the rest of them I wouldnt leave my cat with . I hope the health department will be making a stop there soon because it is the dirtiest place Ive ever seen that calls their self a medical facility

One-Star isnt an accurate representation, but theres nothing lower. Quality of care in this facility, and attentiveness to the patient is absolutely abysmal. A few of the staff really do try, unfortunately the overall operation swallows their efforts. We have a family member in there now. Once the discharge paperwork is done, we will have them out of there, and probably stop at their attorneys office on the way home. Recommended? Not for a loved one. Maybe if you have a dog you dont like.... Other than that, pass this one by.

Compared to St Andrews they are 10 times better went from 3 to half to an hrs of pt a day and the pool was a plus do not go to St Andrews they ignore call buttons for over 3 hrs and laugh about waiting to give the patient morning meds instead of as needed so I laid in pain for 3 hrs unnecessarily healthsouth answered my calls within minutes was actually healing at healthsouth and have regressed at St Andrews

So very grateful to everyone at HealthSouth who took care of me. You are all amazing and I am so blessed to have chosen HealthSouth. It didnt matter whose job it was, you did whatever was needed to help the patient. I would love to name each one of you but I know Id leave someone out. God bless you all.

This facility is absolutely awful in every aspect! Poor nursing care, poor rehab services, and poor management are the only things that can be said for this place. Theyre only concern is what theyre getting paid and NOT the patient!
