I like him. He is an old time vet that doesnt pull any punches. I prefer a vet that can offer a reasonable diagnosis without a bunch of expensive testing and tell me hes pretty sure (at times positive) it is x, but if y doesnt resolve the issue we will have to run tests. He has saved me a lot of money, and currently working with me to restore the health of a pup that I got from a very bad breeder. He spends a lot of time going over everything in the dogs life to narrow the problem down, and I find it very helpful that when I bring in a list of concerns that he takes that list and makes notes on it for me to take home. Normally I do not leave reviews, though for him I felt that I needed to. Someone in town referred me to him with caution and then someone else gave an odd look when I mentioned going there. I dont know why this is, other than maybe some people dont like doctor that is blunt and relies on his experience for diagnosis. He always offers the testing, but with his experience and knowledge, I dont think testing is always necessary. I took my previous dog to MSU and asked them to check to see if her cancer had returned (prior to meeting Dr. Kiomento). My instructions were to x-ray, then ultrasound, then the other tests but to stop if they found anything and not to proceed with further testing. They didnt. When I returned to get the dog they ran every test they could think of, producing a bill in excess of $900, when the x-ray ($75) showed the cancer was everywhere. For me, I do not appreciate this type of practice. The dog died three weeks later. All in all, I continue to use Perry Animal Clinic and will recommend him to anyone looking for a vet.

We have been going to Dr. Kiomento for years. I have had several pets over the years and he is the best vet I have ever had. He is straight forward and fair and maybe that is why he has received a negative review as it is sometimes hard when you learn the truth about a pet. He is not in it for the money only the love of animals. We recently lost our beloved yellow lab of nine years. His diagnosis was internal bleeding from a tumor on the spleen. Not wanting to lose Rabbit that easily we took him to the state of the art MSU facility at Dr Kiomentos urging. After several hours and hundreds of dollars the MSU diagnosis was the same as Dr Kiomento. If you want a straight forward vet that knows his stuff and tells you the way it is, he is your guy. If you want a sugar coated vet, maybe not.

Betty - October 27, 2011 We think Dr. Kiomento is the best in the area. We have been taking our animals to him for 21 years. He saved the life of our foundling, starving, heart-wormy beagle and she lived to be 14. Dr. Kiomento keeps up to date on the newest treatments and medicines and works well with the MSU Vet Clinic. He is good about presenting all options for treatment, not just the most expensive. The clinic is clean, well run and all of the staff members are competent, polite and have a love of animals. Their requirement that one be in control of ones pet is fair and reasonable and could be the reason for the bad review.

Dr. Kiomento is the best veterinarian Ive ever met. He truly cares about his patients, yes he refers to all animals as his patients, and their health and quality of life are first. The love and care he gives to his patients is above and beyond. His staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and caring.

The staff here is wonderful. They really care about you, your concerns, and your animals. I feel like my pets are in good hands. They will call to remind you to pick up medications and ask how sick pets are getting along. They make you feel like family when you are there.
