I dont talk my personal pets there, because it is expensive, however, if you have the resources these are the best doctors you will find. I take my bosses dogs frequently for her, and I have always found Dr. Mayes, and the others, to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Weve had several dogs who have fallen ill, and theyve always taken the best care of them. Also, unlike many cheap vets that I have been to, the doctors dont upsell. That could be because my boss has been a client for over 10 years. I was also recommended Dr. Lively by Dr. Sam at My Pets for my kitten who had an eye issue. Unfortunately, I never got to take him, because he went missing. I couldnt give a 5 star rating because I have found the staff to be snobby and blatantly rude several times. For the kind of money clients are shelling out, even if the payment is delayed (which was their "reasoning"), none of the staff should ever insult a client, or be disgruntled. On one ocassion, I was standing in the waiting room at closing time. I was shuffled off by one girl, and then the other began to huff about herself leaving. Finally, someone decided to help close the invoice, then the receptionist literally said an insulting comment about my boss. I was baffled. I didnt even know what to say. I stood there in silence. In the past 6 years of owning my own dogs and having been to several cheaper vets in the area, I have never had any of the staff at be so rude, or insult me, or overhear them talk down about a client. I have seen the doctors here give the receptionist a glare several times for their unprofessional behavior. In short, the staff has a few issues with customer service, but the doctors are on key with hospitality, and knowledge. You pay more here, but you also get a lot more. These doctors truely know their medicine, and I wouldnt recommend another vet if your pet has chronic issues.

Village Vet is awesome! Pets and their health come first! There are no exceptions to this! Excellent staff, service and communication with clients. They treat your pet like they are treating a member of your family. Dr. Lively and Dr. Mays and their staff have helped me take care of Banks, my Scottish Terrier, for over 13 years. Dr. Lively and Dr. Mays believe in the personal touch. On one occasion Dr. Lively even traveled out of state to care for Banks when I wasnt in Tennessee and my dog need immediate attention. On another occasion Dr. Mays visited my home to follow up with me about Banks treatment plan. Both Dr. Lively and Dr. Mays are straightforward, compassionate, skilled vets who provide excellent suggestions for ways that I can care for Banks without "upselling" me. All quotes and estimates regarding care and procedures have been spot on! Furthermore they are on the cutting edge when it concerns medical treatments for your pets as they have been selected to lead many clinical trials. I cant say enough about this place! It is so nice to go to the vet where the care of your pet, not money, is the driving force of their business mission. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

I was recommended by a friend to this vet when we moved to Tennessee 4 years ago. I have been INCREDIBLY pleased with each visit. Yes, the charges are more than Ive paid at other clinics, but its absolutely worth it for the stellar service received from the staff, vet techs, and vets. Dr. Lively is amazing to work with and truly spends time with you and gets to know your pet. I have three big dogs that are rescues and one is very timid. Dr. Lively spent a long time in the room with him so he could get used to her at his own comfort level, and she even performed the nail trim in the back of my car after sedation on our first visit because my pup was more comfortable there. They are professional, and I trust them implicitly. Also, incredibly accommodating and understanding that pets have personalities too. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my first visit today. Christie (I might not be spelling that right) at the front desk is so personable and helpful, and I was able to set up an appointment quickly. The clinic is very clean and welcoming. Ive seen the previous reviews complaining about prices and I dont get it; their prices are fair and you truly get the best care here. Dr. Goodrich is perfect. Not once did I feel rushed and she gave my dog her full attention. She answered every question I had and is very knowledgeable (I learned so much), kind, and calm. You can tell this is her passion and she loves what she does. Her technicians were also gentle and caring. I cant imagine ever taking my dog anywhere else after today and truly cant recommend this clinic enough.

They charge way too much and my dog almost never saw the same doctor. They couldnt figure out what was wrong with her and we spent countless amounts of money there. We came to suspect that they were just running several tests she didnt need so they could over charge us. Even with all the money spent, I got a call from them about a supposed $14 that I owe them. They cannot tell me what it was for, but they keep adding fees onto it. My fiance called to find out exactly what the fee was for, as we always paid for everything after each visit, but received no explanation except that I supposedly authorized a test via phone. This was a blatant lie, but they put him on hold for so long, so he hung up.

In September, 2015, my husband and I took a vacation to Jalama Beach. We also took our nine year old boxer mix, Layla. Sometime during the trip, Layla flipped her spleen. Upon arriving at Jalama Beach, we noticed she was not feeling well. By the next morning, we knew something was drastically wrong. We were referred to Village Veterinary and they immediately took action, performed surgery that same day and saved Laylas life! We are so very grateful to Dr. Ganter and the entire staff for the fantastic care given to Layla and to us. Layla is doing great. I would recommend Village Veterinary for any of your pets needs. Thank you from Craig, Shelley, and Layla Peterson.

I had a wonderful experience there! The new facility is amazing and has some really great new technology. My dog is very important to me. She IS a member of my family. When I found a growth on her side I was naturally terrified. They were able to calm me down by explaining in terms I could understand what was wrong. They were also able to make it go away, without surgery and it has not come back. Dr. Lively and Dr. Rothrock were great. I now live a couple hours from Knoxville, but it is worth the drive to take my dog to where I know she will get the best care. The price was very fair. If you are looking for a doctor for your pet, I cant think of anyplace better!

Village Veterinary is the single best place I have ever found to board my dogs. I have a 17lb terrier mix who is very playful and energetic, and he seems to enjoy staying here. Ive boarded him twice for 4 days each time, and when I pick him up he isnt stressed or freaked out at all. They seem to take very good care of your pet for a very reasonable price. My mom used to bring her emotionally disturbed chihuahua here and she came to check on him during his stay and he was sitting on the girls lap at the computer fast asleep. As long as I live in Knoxville, this is the only place I will board or take my pets for medical care. Thank you guys for being great!
