My therapist Charles Vermeulen, has left me high & dry. Is not following up on my care. Suggested that I need some medication to help with my elevated anxiety, increasing panic attacks that have grown to control my daily activities & are interfering with my ability to work, drive, just function. I have developed ocd rituals that are putting myself & loved ones in harm way. And the therapist was to help usher me to see asap, a medical physician on sight so that I could be further evaluated.... Now 2 days later I have no advanced level of any type of plan of action to help with my spiraling thoughts. The best that Perspectives of Troy, could do is set me up with an appointment, with a medical physician, that is 3 months out. Now I am getting the cold shoulder from the reception staff & my therapist. I am at my wits end, standing on the cliffs edge & Perspectives of Troy, are not throwing me any life lines. Not offering me any options other than to seek treatment off site at a different facility, another doctor. I feel my therapist has abandoned me. Will not call. Will not keep a open line of communication open. I am for a better term, been abandoned.. I am being forced to seek help else where. I think this is poor administration of any doctor, or anyone in the health & mental field, to do no harm. I think Perspectives of Troy, as well as the staff, my therapist have all failed in the given tasks at hand to aid their patient(s). It is unbelievable that they can boast to address & treat so many serious mental health conditions such as: bipolar, manic depression, ocd, etc.... and not have the ability of a medical doctor on staff to be available to evaluate & properly prescribe medications. It is unrealistic to think that a patient should have to wait 3 months to see a medical physician on staff. For someone especially, is telling them that they are in dire need. It is extremely disappointing. I hope no one else has to go through what I have had to go through.

I normally check reviews before making appointments with any new dr however but I heard about this place on the radio and that there were Christian counselors available (which is important for me) I went online filled out the online form so someone could contact me...never heard from anyone...a couple weeks later I decided to call this time, I honestly thought I had the wrong# the Secretary answered "hello" . Once I confirmed I was calling the right place I attempted to make an appointment, this person was clueless about just making an appointment for me. She ended up tranferring me to one of the counselors direct lines (Marianne I believe was her name) I left a message only to never hear from her either...its truly disappointing when u are seeking this type of help only to be given the cold shoulder more than once. I decided today to read some reviews only to be disappointed further...any negative review has a generic reply from the director, owner, etc...this convinced me even more this is not the place for me so at this point Im glad I didnt receive a response from anyone. No need to reply as all I have to do is go back and read your generic response to everyone else.

The thought of seeking treatment for mental health can be overwhelming and sometimes embarrassing. After being isolated in the house for months I finally worked up the courage to seek treatment. After a month of being mismanaged and receiving misleading information from my counselor i am lost as to what my next step is. Dr. Karolin Thompson is horrible at following up with he clients, and says she cares with her word. Her body language and voice tone makes you feel that her words are fake and she does not believe you. The way she fails to correspond information and return phone calls further reenforces the fact that she does not care. After trying to coordinate with the managing staff and asking for a new therapist they had Dr. Thompson call me. I asked again for a new therapist where they said they are closing my case and that i need to go somewhere else. I was seeking treatment after being hit by a bus, which the receptionist laughed and said thats funny!!!

The time I have invested in seeking counseling has greatly improved my life and my outlook on life. My counselor has really helped me get a better perspective on my life and I have noticed how I cherish my time with my family so much more now. I use to be so consumed with work and other distractions that spending time with my children or showing my wife that I love her was at times frustrating because it was taking me away from what I thought was important... working. It seems my priorities in life are changing and I am much happier that they are. They better align with what I believe to be true and my family and I are getting along great these days. Thank you Perspectives Of Troy Counseling Centers!

I had a very pleasant experience visiting Perspectives Of Troy as my first counseling center I have ever been to. Without getting into too much detail, I was just seeking some feedback, support and advice on some areas I wanted to grow up in and how it could better improve my life and mental well-being. I have to say thank you and that my returning visits only helped to build on the momentum my therapist and I created when I first started going there. Not only am I happier these days, but I feel well balanced emotionally and just more appreciative of the people in my life and the things I have. Thanks!

I thought they were really unprofessional! First of all the lady that was doing 1:1 counseling was very negative and frankly, very annoying- I wasnt sure if maybe she thought I should just give up on my marriage?? Then the counselor responsible for the childrens counseling was SOOO patronizing and ridiculous- she kept calling my husband and I "hun." It was SUCH a waste of time and money!!! PLUS there was NOTHING Christian about anything which was heartbreaking! We specifically searched for a Christian therapist but it was so disappointing.

My wife, son, daughter, and myself have seen counselors at Perspecitves at different times over the past five to six years for various concerns. Each of the counselors have been very professional, sensitive, and successful in helping our family to deal with stressful situations and get on with living. Based on our experience, I would not hesitate to recommend the Perspectives of Troy center to anyone struggling to overcome issues, or just wanting a "tune up" to get more out life.

Thank you for all your help these past few months. When I first came to see you my marriage was on the verge of a divorce, I was dealing with several troubling work issues, and as time passed, the death of my father. My sessions with my Perspectives of Troy counselor gave me the tools to deal with my issues and begin to heal. Thank you.

Counseling at Perspectives of Troy has changed my life. They have helped me get back to the person I used to be, the person who I lost along the way because I was too busy trying to make everyone else happy. They have helped me to let go of my anger, sadness, fears and insecurities. Thank you so much.
