Im a crossfit athlete that also plays competitive softball and from time to time (like most people) I hurt myself either by lifting something with poor form or tweaking something during a play thatll keep me out of playing at full capacity for a few weeks (which is frustrating). Recently I hurt my lower back with overuse and trying to fight through the stiffness/pain I was experiencing. It got to the point where during workouts Id need to lay on the ground because my back was locking up, and it wasnt because of lifting something heavy, it was simple stuff like running or jumping too much in a short period of time that was causing me problems. I took a couple of months off during the winter figuring that would help and tried back massages, when I went back to working out regularly I found that my back was still locking up the same as it did before. For a 4-5 day a week workout guy this was fairly frustrating and scary. I had previously gone to Dr Ryan when my shoulder was giving me a lot of trouble and it was a good experience so I went back to have my back looked at. Lucky for me hed dealt with this injury before and had experience with how to tackle it, after an examination he put me on a plan to get my back to where it was and gave me a timetable for my expectations (which was a sigh of relief). Pricing was also very reasonable which also was a comfort. After about 3 weeks or so I went back to the X-fit gym and was able to get through a couple of workouts without my back locking up which was awesome. After a couple of months now Im back to working out 4-5 times a week and playing softball without issues again. After helping me with my back theres no other place I feel like I need to explore when it comes to injuries or etc. Dr Ryan knows what hes doing and every time I hurt something hes able to fix me up within no time at all. Which being an active person is a huge plus as sitting on my couch with an injury waiting for it to magically get better by itself is frustrating. If you’re dealing with an injury or pain and are reading this, I highly recommend making an appointment with Dr Ryan, if my experience has taught me anything it’s that he knows what he’s doing and will take good care of you.

Memorial day weekend of 2010 I had the unfortunate experience of being involved in a car crash that totaled the SUV that I was driving. There was no one to blame but the deer who crossed in front of me at 3am on a rural stretch of Interstate 35. Instantly I had pain, headaches and suffered re-injury of an old work comp injury from several years prior. I did some searching for a chiropractor who had an interest in whole body injury recovery and found Dr Ryan. He was close to where I lived at the time, had convenient hours and was willing to take me on as a new patient. After six months of treating my serious injuries with Dr Ryan - Id reached a point of maximum medical improvement. Then, six months to the day (Thanksgiving night actually) I was involved in another serious motor vehicle crash, and I called on Dr Ryan again to help me out. He and I worked through a serious re-injury of my just recently healed body, fighting with my auto insurance company tooth and nail with the help of an attorney that took me to my wits end. Dr Ryan was with me the whole way and was willing to help in any way possible. I finally, in early 2012 reached the point we both felt I was in a much improved state and I was discharged from routine scheduled care - just having to follow up for a regular "tune-up" from time to time. In Nov of 2013 I was involved in an automobile crash while on the job - I called on Dr Ryans services again, he was quick to get in me and once we realized the injuries I sustained were going to require outside consultation he referred me to an outside Neurological Clinic and finally an Orthopedic Hand Surgeon. Each day has been a challenge, but Dr Ryan and his staff have continued to be there for me - providing easy and convenient appointments (including short notice changes!) in a calm and professional setting. Id recommend anyone looking for a chiropractor, whether it be for an acute injury or ongoing or chronic pain seriously consider using Alpha Spine Health & Injury Center. If it tells you anything - I was willing to drive 40-50 miles round trip just to see a chiropractor - I have never felt more comfortable with a chiropractor than I have with Dr Ryan.

Its simple: If you are active and you are hurt....you see Dr. Ryan Betzina Problem solved. Ive never been big on chiropractic care due to a bad first experience in Iowa well over 10 years ago. I was in a car accident in 2009 and was in severe pain. I had met Dr. Ryan Betzina through a local gym months before the accident and decided it was time to give it another shot. Dr. Ryan far exceeded my expectations and created a plan to get me back to my active healthy lifestyle. Dr. Ryan Betzina gets you up and running (literally). I have never had a problem getting an appointment...and he takes the time to listen and he truly cares (or is really, really, really good at pretending like he cares). Either way...he rocks! He is honest...and if he says take a break...I would take a break! I guarantee, you will be back to normal in no time and in more severe cases you will feel confident with the plan Dr. Ryan Betzina puts in front of you. As a patient and a friend I just want to say thank you for your help. GO SEE HIM!

I was in a car accident in December. While the impact did not feel like it caused an injury at the time, I noticed I had a headache the next day. It lasted for a week and my back began to hurt as well. I thought it was time to go see Dr.Ryan. As a result he began treating me and within a week the headache would come and go and by two weeks it was almost gone. After completing my treatment I was headache free and my back was back to tip top shape. Dr. Ryan was diligent in his treatment and was always asking about improvement and took the time to listen to me when I explained my symptoms. I could not believe how much better I felt and how chiropractic improved my symptoms in, what I thought, was a short amount of time. He was even available to answer questions about my insurance coverage and worked with my insurance to handle my claim. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ryan if you have been in an car accident. If I have any pain going forward for any reason, I will be back.

I had been dealing with low back pain for many years. I had seen doctors, therapists, specialist and a surgeon. In doing so I did physical therapy, medications, injections and a surgery and still lived with chronic low back pain. I thought that I would be living with the pain the rest of my life, that this was my new "normal". We moved to the area and I was having a really rough day, look up chiropractic and found Alpha Spine. I called and was surprised I could get in yet that day. I had relief from the chronic pain and continued care not expecting much since my pain was on going for so many years. Well I am thankful to have continued on! I am now back to doing things I thought I would never do again!! I have also had relief from migraines with the treatments. I would and have recommended Dr. Betzina to all that have issues with migraines and back issues. Ryan is caring, understanding and a great at explaining things.
